Story
Meet Roman! This handsome almost-2-year-old Great Pyrenees Shepherd mix is a gentle giant with a heart of gold and a fluffy coat to match. Weighing in with that classic Pyr build, Roman brings the protective instincts of his Pyrenees heritage together with the loyal, attentive nature of his Shepherd side. Housebroken and fully kennel-trained, Roman is a polite and easygoing boy who minds well and stays watchful over his home and people. He’s incredibly affectionate—expect him to collapse dramatically at your feet for belly rubs the moment you sit down! He absolutely lives for attention and those long, luxurious scratch sessions. Roman has been well-socialized with other dogs, a cat, and small children, making him a calm and tolerant companion in multi-pet or family settings. True to his Great Pyrenees roots, he can get bored if left without enough stimulation, so he’ll thrive best in an active home where he can join you on hikes, long walks, playtime in the yard, or other adventures to keep his mind and body happy. If you’re looking for a devoted, loving shadow who’ll guard your heart (and maybe your couch) while soaking up every ounce of affection you give, Roman is ready to roll right into your life—literally! Roman is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for his forever home.

Story
Meet Hailey — A Mother Who Survived So Her Babies Could LiveSome dogs endure things that should never happen. Hailey is one of them. This beautiful Great Pyrenees mama was found chained outside, abandoned, and left to fend for herself. Alone. Neglected. Forgotten. And yet — in the middle of that hardship — she gave birth to seven precious puppies. When a kind Good Samaritan saw her suffering and made the call that changed everything, Hailey was extremely emaciated and heavily infested with worms. Her body was depleted. But even then, she was still feeding her babies. Still protecting them. Still choosing motherhood over her own survival. That’s who Hailey is.She has since been treated for her worms, and we are carefully working on rebuilding her strength and meeting her nutritional needs. With proper care, safety, and regular meals, her body is slowly recovering. And now that she no longer has to fight just to survive, her gentle spirit is beginning to shine through.Despite everything she endured, Hailey is soft, loving, and trusting. She leans into affection as if she’s been waiting her whole life to know what kindness feels like. There is a quiet gratitude in her eyes — and a depth that only comes from surviving the unimaginable.Hailey gave everything she had to her puppies. Now it will soon be her turn. She deserves a home where she will never be chained again. Never be forgotten. Never have to wonder where her next meal will come from. A home where she can rest. Heal. Be cherished. If you have room in your heart for a resilient mama who has already proven how fiercely she loves — Hailey will soon be adoptable- once her pups are weaned- she will be waiting for her forever family.***Note: Adoption Policy: Montague County Animal Rescue typically does not adopt dogs to homes where they will live primarily outdoors. We believe every dog deserves to be part of the family and live safely indoors. Exceptions may be made for specific breeds or unique circumstances where an outdoor environment is appropriate and secure.

Jagger is growing into such a handsome dog! He's in that "clumsy puppy" stage right now, but he is so much fun to play with and so sweet to snuggle. He likes to get rowdy and play, but he also likes to relax in the sun. He will make a GREAT family dog!! He's great with kids and other dogs! We need to get him in a new home as soon as possible so he can adjust while he is still young. Make an appointment today to see this super sweet boy!!Note: Adoption Policy: Montague County Animal Rescue typically does not adopt dogs to homes where they will live primarily outdoors.
