Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Carson!  This handsome lovebug is obsessed with people and he is so happy!  Born around November 2021, he weighs around 85 pounds and has the most adorable freckles sprinkled on his muzzle. Sweet Carson loves everyone and wants to be as close to you as possible.  He loves to gently give you his paw and sweetly give you kisses.  He’s a Velcro dog!  He might even climb in your lap if you allow it. Prior to coming to SPIN, Carson was running as a stray and had been hit by a car.  His back leg was broken and had to be amputated.  He is all healed now and walks great on his three remaining legs. Carson gets along great with other dogs.  He likes to “pet” the dogs in his foster home!  He’ll sit next to them, pat them on the head with his paw (pat, pat, pat), then switch to his other paw and give them more gentle pats.  So sweet! He loves to be brushed!  When you use the undercoat grooming rake on him, he will lay there and roll around so you can get every nook and cranny! He could live in a multi-dog household or as your one-and-only best dog.  He is slightly playful, and occasionally enjoys picking up a toy.  His happiest place is with people. Sweet Carson is totally house trained.  He has no need for a crate.  He rides well in a car.  He doesn’t bark much. Carson will do best in a one-story home, so he doesn’t have to negotiate many stairs.  Children in the home should be old enough to understand that they shouldn’t lean on him, knocking him off balance. Carson is so joyful, he will have you smiling every time you look at him. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Juniper!  Born around February 2022, she is a sweet, happy girl who we rescued from a local shelter.  She is on the small side around 50 pounds.  Her DNA test revealed that she is 51% Great Pyrenees and 24% Australian Cattle Dog. Juniper is as cute as can be with her alert little ears and a spattering of freckles across her muzzle. She loves to play and run, especially with doggy friends. Juniper absolutely adores puppies!  She has a blast playing with them and is cautious not to hurt them.  She mostly performs a lot of play bows, boops them with her nose, and jovially scampers away with their toys. She takes a little more time warming up to new adult dogs, but her playfulness is so contagious that even the senior Pyr in her foster home joins her for romps in the yard. She would love to have at least one playful doggy companion in her forever home. Juniper is great with children but due to her puppy playfulness, she would be best with children over five years old. She loves going for trips in the car and loads up easily.  She has so much fun looking out the window and settles down for petting along the way. She is fully house trained, and she is great on leash.  She is crate trained, but has no need for one. She is food motivated, an enthusiastic eater, and takes her treats gently. She wants to work hard for treats, so she is a quick study for learning new commands and tricks. Juniper needs a family who will include her in their adventures.  She needs enough exercise and mental stimulation to meet her energy level and help her tap into the more relaxed Great Pyrenees side of her genetic makeup. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chester!  Born around January 2023, this endearing boy weighs about 55 pounds, putting him firmly in “pocket Pyr” territory. He was found lounging on a road, then taken to a shelter where he was never reclaimed.  We happily welcomed him to SPIN! Chester is one of a kind, just like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. Like Tigger, he is very “bouncy!” He likes to jump and play, and is very sweet to his people.  Because he is so very exuberant, he sometimes jumps or bumps into you, so he might not be best placed with small children or anyone who can be pushed off balance. He is the best boy when at the veterinarian where everyone falls in love with him as he sweetly allows the poking, prodding, shots, and nail trims. Chester loves being with other dogs.  He and his furry foster siblings play together in the back yard for hours, eat together, then cuddle together. He also likes to fetch, a very uncommon trait in a Pyrenees. He is very food motivated, and is more trainable than the average Pyr.  He quickly learned sit and kennel training. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Rocky!  This loveable boy was born around January 2022.  Fully grown at 75 pounds, he appears to be mostly Great Pyrenees mixed with a smaller, leaner breed. While shy around new people, once he bonds with you, he loves having your attention.  He follows you everywhere, and tries his best to be a lap dog!  He does well with kids and allows them to approach him for petting. Rocky does great meeting new dogs.  After they get acquainted, he loves playing with them and being close.  He might do best with big dogs, since he sometimes plays a little rough.  He eases up if he sees that other dog doesn’t like it. He is leash trained and loves going for walks.  He is great in dog parks, too. Rocky is fully house trained. He has no need for a crate and can hurt himself when confined to one because he does his best to escape it. Rocky doesn’t bark very much.  Rather than bark at things that make him uncomfortable, he prefers to avoid. He does well in the car.  After he happily jumps in, he wants to get right up front with you. With his low-to-moderate amount of energy, he could probably tolerate an apartment setting if he gets long daily walks and/or has a canine buddy to play with throughout the day. Rocky wants to find his forever person and never leave their side.  If he initially has separation anxiety, that will improve as he gets comfortable in his new home. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Kayso!  She is a confident, happy dog who goes boldly into new situations.  Ever seen a Pyr climb a tree?  Neither had we until Kayso! Born in December 2023, this beautiful Great Pyrenees mix will likely weigh a “petite” 70 pounds when fully grown. Kayso is a sweet, loving, and happy girl.  She loves every person and dog she encounters and is playful with all. No cats!  She seems to have a high prey drive and cannot be trusted with cats.  She chases them and mouths them in a not nice way. If you are looking for a hiking or running buddy or someone to take long walks with, this is your girl.  She is a high energy dog, but can settle down easily. She enjoys sleeping on cool tile floors after playing outside. She loves to snuggle with you on the couch in the evenings and is an amazing cuddle buddy.  She loves to be cradled like a baby. Kayso is crate trained (although she will protest for a minute or two) and is housebroken. She rides well in a car. She loves playing with hard toys such as Kongs. She walks well on leash and does even better when she has another dog to follow/mimic. She is learning not to jump and understands “no.” She is looking for a home with a backyard, a family to care for her, and a playful companion dog.  She would be great for families with children. Kayso is excited to meet her furever family. Could that be you? SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Skye! Ever imagined snuggling up with a colossal, fluffy cloud that happily wags its tail? Well, dream no more! Skye, a stunning 90-pound Great Pyrenees with a heart as big as her snowy coat, is searching for her forever home. This majestic 3-year-old, affectionately nicknamed "Ms. Polar Bear" for her bobbed tail and dignified demeanor, is a gentle giant eager to reveal her playful side. Earlier this year, Skye's situation was quite rough, having been found abandoned and wandering a neighborhood. Since then, Skye has flourished into a resilient and affectionate companion. She hasn't lost her love for life or her appetite. When it's time for snacks, her tail-wagging excitement is a joyful display of her love for life's little pleasures, like delicious healthy treats! Kangaroo Ziggy bars are her favorite! As the sun casts its glow, Skye becomes an intrepid explorer, reveling in the warmth and seeking out new aromas. She absolutely loves being outside and finds pure joy lounging under the winter sun or dozing in the summer shade. When the weather turns inclement, she’s just as happy relaxing indoors. A doggie door is a must for this girl, as she loves the freedom to move between outdoor adventures and indoor comforts. Skye is perfectly balanced in energy and temperament. Playful romps and runs are followed by blissful relaxation, showcasing her adaptable nature. She loves engaging in playful antics with her foster sibling, showing her affectionate and fun-loving personality. She’s also incredibly easy to contain in a securely fenced yard and delights in exploring her outdoor space. Inside the home, Skye is a model citizen. She’s fully house-trained, never had an accident, and knows to use her inside voice. Whether lounging on a comfy dog bed or sprawling on the floor, she’s calm and well-mannered, even when left alone. She easily follows commands like "Outside!" and quickly learns the rhythms of her household. Skye appears to be okay with cats. Her feline sibling is new to the household and is shy around dogs, but Skye has shown no signs of aggression or undue curiosity. With a proper introduction and time to adjust, she seems likely to coexist peacefully with cats. Skye is also comfortable on the leash and adores meeting new people. She’s calm in public places and is always a joy to bring along on outings. This gentle giant seeks a loving forever family where she can blossom. If you're an outdoor enthusiast with a heart for loyalty, a love for lounging, and an appreciation for the beauty of a snoozing cloud, then Skye is your perfect match. Open your home and heart to this incredible girl – she deserves all the love in the world!
