- **Name**: Oakley - **Age**: 2 years old - **Breed**: Great Pyrenees - **Gender**: Male   **About Oakley**:   Oakley is a stunning 2-year-old Great Pyrenees with a regal appearance and a calm, laid-back personality. He was rescued after being found roaming the neighborhood, as his previous owners didn’t have a fence to contain him. This gorgeous boy has a beautiful, strong head that makes him quite the head-turner. Oakley’s gentle demeanor and love for people and other animals make him an ideal companion for any household.   **Special Notes**:   Oakley’s chill personality is one of his standout traits. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Carson!  Born around November 2021, he weighs around 85 pounds. He is a happy boy with the most adorable freckles sprinkled on his muzzle. This handsome lovebug is obsessed with people.  He’s a Velcro dog!  He loves everyone and wants to be as close to you as possible.  He loves to gently give you his paw and sweetly give you kisses.  He might even climb in your lap if you allow it.  His happiest place is with people. Carson gets along great with other dogs.  He likes to “pet” the dogs in his foster home!  He’ll sit next to them, sweetly pat them on the head with his paw, then switch to his other paw and give them more gentle pats. He loves to be brushed!  When you use an undercoat grooming rake on him, he will lay there and roll around so you can get every nook and cranny! He could live in a multi-dog household or as your one-and-only best dog.  He is slightly playful, and occasionally enjoys picking up a toy.  Sweet Carson is totally house trained and has no need for a crate.  He rides well in a car.  He doesn’t bark much. Prior to coming to us, Carson was running as a stray and was hit by a car.  His back leg was broken and had to be amputated.  He is all healed now and walks great on his three remaining legs. Carson will do best in a one-story home, so he doesn’t have to negotiate many stairs.  Children in the home should be old enough to understand that they shouldn’t lean on him, knocking him off balance. Carson will bring joy to your world. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Briscoe!  Born around May 2020, he is a big, handsome, lean boy at 90 pounds.  He looks like a full-blooded Great Pyrenees even with his partially blue eye. Briscoe has been very easy to foster.  He is affectionately called “Beeeeee” in his foster home.  He is social and outgoing with people.   He is super goofy!  He has long legs that sometimes go all over the place when he runs. He can live with other dogs if they meet his criteria.  He needs proper introductions and a few meetings before he accepts another dog as a friend.  He can be relaxed and enjoy their company and playing with them; however, he does not like to be dominated.  Any forever dog buddy would need to be the right personality match for him.  Otherwise, he might to best as an only dog. He sometimes gets the zoomies and romps through the yard, and he also really enjoys relaxing.  He likes stretching out on cool floors and lounging on his cot on the back porch.  He doesn’t care much for toys, but he gets a kick out of shredding blankets in his crate. Briscoe loves cats and is sweet with them.  He is happy hanging out with people and cats. He has wonderful house manners, is house trained, leash trained, crate trained, and rides well in a car.  He loves barking and even barks at dogs on tv! Briscoe must have a secure 6’ fence, because he is big, strong, and agile.  He can easily jump a 4’ fence and can squeeze himself through small spaces when he wants to get somewhere. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Juniper!  This precious girl was rescued from a local shelter and appears to be around 2 years old.  Her DNA test revealed that she is 51% Great Pyrenees and 24% Australian Cattle Dog. With alert little ears and a spattering of freckles across her muzzle, Juniper is as cute as can be! She loves to play and run, especially with doggy friends. Juniper takes time warming up to new adult dogs but she absolutely adores puppies. She has a blast playing with them. Cautious not to hurt them, she mostly performs a lot of play bows, boops them with her nose, and jovially scampers away with their toys. Her playfulness is so contagious that the senior Pyr in her foster home joins her for romps in the yard.  She would love at least one playful doggy companion in her new home. Juniper is great with children but due to her puppy playfulness, she is be best with children over five years old. She is fully house trained.  She is great with her loose leash walking skills.  She is crate trained, but has no need for one. She is food motivated, an enthusiastic eater, and takes her treats gently. She has been known to counter surf, and has learned that it's highly discouraged. She wants to work hard for treats, so she is a quick study for learning new commands and tricks. Juniper needs enough exercise and mental stimulation to meet her energy level and help her tap into the more relaxed Great Pyrenees side of her genetic makeup. Juniper needs a family who will include her in their adventures. She loves going for trips in the car and will load up without hesitation -- she has so much fun looking out the window and settles down for petting along the way. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lola!  This happy girl was born around October 2020, and she is Pyr-fectly fit at 85 pounds.  We had her DNA tested, and Wisdom Panel confirmed that she is 100% Great Pyrenees. Lola loves people.  She is an absolute cuddle bug!  She likes to snuggle her nose into your neck and chest.  She wants to be as close to you as possible on the couch.  She’ll be on your lap if you allow it.  Because of her strong Pyr paw, we recommend that she not live with toddlers or younger. She cutely hops when she’s excited, and she sometimes makes funny noises to get your attention. Lola loves playing with dogs and with toys.  She adores being outside in her backyard.  She is active and would do well with exercise such as walking or light jogging. She likes every dog she meets, and she needs a doggy playmate in her forever home.  An active mid-size to large dog is best. Lola is great with puppies; she plays gently with them and lets them climb all over her.  She is curious and playful with cats. Before coming into rescue, Lola was hit by car.  She suffered a broken leg and pelvis.  Due to her subsequent surgeries, she needs to stay lean and stay on glucosamine and fish oil supplements for her joints. When you see her playing, you wouldn’t know she’s had any injuries.  They don’t slow her down whatsoever. Lola is house trained and leash trained.  When outside, she loves sounding her loud, deep bark. For short rides in a car, she barks at people, dogs, trucks, and so on.  For longer rides, she lays down and is calm. She does fine with the 5-foot wrought iron fence around the yard at her foster home. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chester!  Born around January 2023, this endearing boy weighs about 55 pounds, putting him firmly in “pocket Pyr” territory. We found him lying in the middle of the road and took him to a shelter where he was never reclaimed.  We couldn’t resist welcoming him to SPIN! He is best friends with Kayso who is also available for adoption.  They play together in the back yard for hours.  They eat together and cuddle together. If you are interested adopting pair that are a great match, these two are it. Chester is one of a kind, just like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. And that’s not all he has in common with the character, as he is very “bouncy!” He likes to jump and play, and is very sweet to his people. Chester also likes to fetch, a very uncommon trait in a Pyrenees. He is very food motivated, and is more trainable than the average Pyr.  He quickly learned sit and kennel training. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old.
