Story
Meet Barney! This pup was wondering around our community for weeks as a stray. Catching him wasn’t easy but let me tell ya, now that he’s had a taste of AC he’s never going back to the stray life haha. Barney in typical Great Pyrenees fashion is an absolute LOVER. He wants do be near his humans and he wants that Pyr fur all over you! Great with dogs big and small although not super playful. Definitely more of a wallflower with the occasional zoomie. Leash work is still a work in progress which for this breed is a lifelong project. What he lacks in that department however he makes up for in looks and charm. -House/Crate Trained -Good with other dogs -Over the top loving -Moderate energy -Loves being with his human. Barney is such a sweet and well tempered boy that woudl do best in a quiet house, as he can be a nervous nelly. We do not ships dog out of state. All adopters must travel to Dallas to meet their potential animal in person before moving forward with an adoption trial run.

Story
Hi there! My name is Dash, and I'm an approximately 7-month-old Great Pyrenees/Hound mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I came to Rockwall Adoption Center when my family could no longer care for me, and now I'm ready to find my forever adventure partner. I currently weigh about 50 pounds (as of 2/14/26), and I still have some growing to do! I'm a bright, happy, outgoing guy who is very much still a puppy. I love to play, explore, and make new friends. I'm good with other dogs and enjoy having canine buddies to romp around with. When I get excited to meet new people or doggy friends, I can be a little vocal - I just can't help announcing my enthusiasm! I would thrive in an active home that's ready for puppy energy, continued training, and lots of fun. With guidance and consistency, I'm going to grow into an amazing, loyal companion. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccine and DAPPV booster, and I'm heartworm negative. If you're interested in meeting or adopting me, please submit an adoption application at: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ I can't wait to see what adventures we could go on together!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. March 7, 2026, 12:29 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Barry! He is a gentle, goofy, laidback, 1yr old, 90lb male Great Pyrenees mix. Barry has a lot more of a white Lab build and coat, but still total Pyrenees couch potato energy, even as a puppy! His foster family affectionately calls him 'Butter Bear' because he is so sweet and squishy. He is sweet with people. He can be a little bashful, but will give you gentle kisses and snuggles. He did great at our recent adoption event meeting lots of little kids and adults, he didn't jump up on anyone and ended up laying down calmly.  Barry is great with dogs. He loves to play and roughhouse with the large dogs in his foster home. He hasn't been tested with cats or small dogs, but his foster family thinks he would do well with them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Barry is very go with the flow. He is house trained. He walks beautifully on the leash, keeping a perfect strolling pace! He gets a little nervous during car rides and will drool a lot.  He has been with his foster family since he was a young puppy found on the streets, so he will need his forever family to be patient with him while he settles in. Barry is currently in a foster home in DFW area, Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transportation - most make the drive themselves. Barry is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.  Apply to meet and adopt Barry at www.spinrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 2:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Phoebe!  She is a sweet, submissive, dog-friendly, freckled badger-faced, female Great Pyrenees rescued from a local shelter. Phoebe is almost 4 yrs old and weighs 80 pounds.  Phoebe is a little shy when new people approach her, but she will walk right up to you on her own for pets and loving. Phoebe is good with dogs. She enjoys playing with larger dogs and leaves little dogs alone.  She is house trained and is good on a leash, but has a tendency to pull.  She rides well in a car and loves to look out the window.   Phoebe is very afraid of loud noises like thunder and fireworks, so she needs a little nook to hide in when she feels compelled. She is also not a fan of grooming. However she does love keeping squirrels and birds out of her yard. Phoebe is a very loving girl just waiting for her forever home. Currently she is in a foster home North of Dallas, Texas. Any out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transportation. Phoebe is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $250. Become an approved adopter with SPIN Rescue and we can put you in touch with her foster to arrange a meet. Apply at www.spinrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 2:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bruno! He is a very distinguished, sweet, low energy 13 yr old, 90lb, male Great Pyrenees mix, currently looking for a cushy place to live out his golden years. Found on his own last summer, he was chipped but no one came forward for him, so we scooped him up! He is great with big and little dogs. He will romp around with the big dogs in the yard time to time. In his foster home, he has picked out a quiet, out of the way room for when he needs a little peace and quiet. There is a 30" door gate that Bruno easily clears to get into the room, but helps keep the other dogs out. He has not been cat tested.  Bruno is friendly and gentle with people. However he is wary of men, especially tall men, so will need slow introductions. Any children in the home should be respectful and not crawl on him since he is a senior.  Bruno is very laid back but does enjoy going on 'adventures'. He is outstanding on a leash and loads easily into the car. He loves being brushed but is not a big fan of baths.  He is mostly house trained, however when it's storming he can be stubborn about going outside and try to get away with peeing inside. He barks some but not excessive. He was never neutered and our vet has recommended not submitting him to surgery at his age.  Bruno is a very sweet, low energy guy that loves getting attention. Will that be from you?  Bruno is currently in a foster home in North Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transport. He is up to date on vaccines. He is currently undergoing slow kill heart worm treatment, SPIN Rescue will provide his adopters with medication to continue treatment. His adoption fee is $200.  Apply to adopt him at www.spinrescue.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 17, 2026, 8:35 pm

Story
Meet Peanut Butter! Peanut Butter is an approximately 9-week-old (as of 03/16/26) male Anatolian Shepherd mix who currently weighs 11 lbs. This adorable pup was found at Harry Myers Park in Rockwall on 03/09/26, and after completing his stray hold with no owner coming forward, he is now looking for a loving forever home. Like all puppies, Peanut Butter is full of curiosity, energy, and potential. Puppies require time, patience, training, and consistency to grow into well-mannered adult dogs. His future family should be prepared to help him learn important life skills such as house training, crate training, basic obedience, proper socialization with people and other dogs, and appropriate chewing habits. Puppies thrive with structure, positive reinforcement, regular veterinary care, and plenty of exercise and mental enrichment. Peanut Butter's adoption fee is $125, which includes his neuter, microchip, rabies vaccination, first round of puppy boosters, and first dewormer. All pets adopted under the age of 12 weeks are required to return to Rockwall Adoptions (RAC) for their spay/neuter surgery and rabies vaccination in accordance with Texas state law. Peanut Butter is scheduled to be neutered on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and this date is non-negotiable. All underage pets require an approved online adoption application before meet and greets can be scheduled. Meet and greets are arranged on a first-come, first-served basis by approved application only. To submit an adoption application, please visit: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ If you're ready for the fun, training, and lifelong commitment that comes with raising a puppy, Peanut Butter may be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Meet Champ - A Big Heart Looking for the Right Home Champ is a 2-year-old, 71-pound Anatolian Shepherd mix who has been waiting over 326 days (as of 02/20/26) for his forever family. As one of our Diamond Dogs, his adoption fee is just $75 - but the devotion he offers is truly priceless. Champ is deeply people-focused and bonds hard with his person. He thrives on connection and wants to be part of daily life, whether that's structured walks, training time, or relaxing at your feet. He walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys pack walks, and has shown he responds well to consistent guidance and leadership. He's intelligent, eager to learn, and does best with clear boundaries and routine. Champ is playful and energetic, especially outdoors, and would enjoy a home that can match his enthusiasm. He may do well with a carefree, submissive female canine companion, or he may prefer soaking up all the attention as the only dog. He is not suited for homes with cats or small animals. Because of his size, strength, and loyal nature, Champ would do best with older children or adults who are comfortable handling a large dog. He also requires a securely fenced yard (minimum 8-foot fence, no chain link) and should not be left unattended outside. Champ is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm positive, with treatment fully covered thanks to Rockwall PAWS. Champ isn't just looking for a home - he's looking for his person. In the right environment, he will be an incredibly loyal, affectionate companion who gives his whole heart. Apply to adopt Champ here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Champ is ready for his fresh start.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX.
