Story
Trip had to have his leg amputated as it healed improperly after it was broken while he was a growing puppy. However, he is one of the happiest, silliest boys you could hope to meet. He lives with lots of other dogs and is a favorite playmate for most of them - he loves all his canine buddies and is fine around cats. Trip loves all humans he meets and would be a great addition to any home looking for a playful, outgoing dog. He is mostly crate trained and will ask to go outside, however he has not been up longer than overnight without a potty break. He does not get many chances to go for car rides but enjoys it when he can. Trip is fully vetted - current with all vaccines, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, neutered and microchipped.

Story
Meet Abel! Abel is a handsome 15 week old (as of 12/07/24) Great Pyrenees mix currently weighing approx. 20 Lbs.  Abel is the best pup! He is doing great with potty training, basic training and takes correction well. He really is such a smart boy! Abel is the epitome of a family dog! He adores children and loves their affection and interacting with them. Abel does great with other dogs and would get along great if you have a cat in the home too. Fully grown, Great Pyrenees are estimated to be about 80-100lbs. Due to their large size, we recommend researching all of the pros and cons of adopting a large to extra large breed puppy before adopting if you have small children or toddlers in the home.   Puppies need a home with the time and patience to teach them how to be the best doggies they can be. They are working on learning all their doggie manners and becoming great family companions. Their adoption fee includes spay/neuter, 3 sets of vaccinations, dewormer, first dose of HW prevention, microchip and microchip registration.  For more information or to schedule a meet and greet with the pups, complete an online application and the foster will be in touch! https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/ DOB: 8/11/2024 Weight: Approx 80-100lbs when full grown. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Henry's mom died at birth with 4 puppies. My housekeeper could not keep all 4 puppies and gave them away. We got Henry at 4 weeks, I did not know his breed. Fast forward, he has grown so big, I discovered his breed as Great Pyrenees and now 120 pounds. My ex left him with me. I have had 4 accidents as I cannot handle his strength and energy. I am 60 years old and unable to handle him. Henry is a young pup, he is energetic, he is curious about everything and as a dog, he does things dogs do. He dragged me 3 times trying to catch rabbits and squirrels and it is not his fault but I am too weak to handle him. He is loving, very active and loves walks and playtime. He is obedient most of the time with a stubborn streak at times. He loves all types of food but I avoid chicken as I think he is allergic to it. He loves fruits like apples, oranges, persimmons, watermelon and cantaloupe. He also loves veggies like carrots, zucchini and etc. He needs a young and strong and energetic best friend.

Story
Why rescue a Pyr? Adopt Marvel! This handsome male Pyr has a story to melt your heart . After being left on a rural property, Marvel lived outdoors taking shelter under a porch since 2018. Dallas Dogrr took Marvel in when this poor boy was shot with an arrow and was heart worm posiitive. He healed quickly and began living with one of our fosters. After a few months it was discovered that he had cancer that was contained in his front right leg. Amputation being the standard of care, Marvel became a tripod and is now cancer free! Marvel took no time to transition to the three legs. He loves running in the backyard and checking for any animal activity. He also is good buddies with the foster's two dogs; taking cues from them regarding house rules. Marvel is a smart guy, becoming more sure of himself each day. He has now mastered running! Pyrs are know for walking the fence line and roaming, so a secure tall fence is a must for Marvel. As for barking, Marvel is a minimalist; and not easily excitable. Marvel starts his day with a good morning wag of the tail! During the day he enjoys chillaxing on cushy dog beds, chewing on a bone here and there. He loves massages and belly rubs, too! When he wants to go outside he shows excitement by "hopping to his foster mom and then to the door. If he really wants attention, he will "speak with his low manly voice usually letting you know it's time to make his dinner. Where his people or dogs are is where he wants to be. Whether inside on some cushy spot or outside enjoying some cool breezes he is a happy pup! Despite living outside for years, Marvel is house broken and has never messed in the house. Good with a doggie door. Not a fan of a crate, but is fine in a good size room with a dog bed. Good when left alone in house too. He listens to verbal correction, such as the word no if he tries to get on the couch. Marvel enjoys people giving him attention and has been exposed to all ages at our adoption events. Would be most happy with at least one other dog. Unsure about his feelings on cats.

Story
When Monty first joined the rescue, he was shy and withdrawn, often finding comfort in hiding in a corner. But with time, patience, and plenty of love, this sweet boy has made incredible strides in building his confidence! Just the other day, his foster mom took him to the dog park, where he got to show off his progress. We are so proud of him! Monty is fantastic with other dogs and would thrive in a home with another dog that likes to play. He was almost completely hairless a couple months ago, but we are seeing new hair growth everyday! Monty has been fully vetted and is ready to find his forever home! Monty is 5 months old and a Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix. If you are interested in adopting Monty, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 3 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows paid by cash, a check made out to Rescue Row, Venmo: @Rescue-Row or at Zelle: info@rescuerowinc.org Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2189369##

Story
Zeus was found in Fort Worth when he was 8 weeks and 6 pounds. He has now grown into a strong loving dog. Currently he is 65 pounds and 10 months old. Favorite treat: peanut butter Kong Favorite game: loves to be chased Favorite toy: lamb chop Favorite thing to do when bored: dig He has a lot of energy and is very social. When fire trucks go by, he barks like a fire truck. He has slight resource guarding, but he went to Happy Gentle Dog school and learned how to be cognitive. To help him with his anxiety, he should be fed in his kennel. Currently Zeus is kenneled for most of the day due to our long work hours. We are hoping to find a loving home that will give him the attention and support he needs. He knows how to sit and lay down. Gets praised with saying “X” and a treat. And will bark when he needs to go to the bathroom.
