Story
If you would like more information about Rosie or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to katy.luciana@gmail.com or contact this number, 713-502-0516 Hello! My name is Rosie. I am a beautiful, chill, almost 7 year old Great Pyrenees. I need a home because my human passed away suddenly last month. I miss my human and would love another person or family to bond with. Here are some notes about me from my human’s family: Rosie gets along well with people and with most dogs; she will sometimes display dominance behavior with other female dogs, but she is never aggressive. She will bark when other dogs are barking; otherwise, she is not an annoying barker. She is housetrained but not crate-trained. She doesn't chew up things in the house. She has never been around cats, so we don't know how she would be with cats. We have all of Rosie’s vet records since she was a puppy, and all her vaccinations are current. Rosie is currently in a temporary living situation with a family in Kingwood, TX, but no one in our family is able to provide a permanent home or longer-term foster as we already have all the pets we can care for. We can take her within a 6 hr radius of either Houston or Austin easily and are happy to pay transport costs for a good home farther away as well. This listing is strictly in the spirit of our commitment that providing support to the independent rescuer community is a valuable step on the path to a No Kill Houston. We know networking works and to the extent that we can provide a platform for animals to be seen and placed, that is our intention.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fun playful girlMs Kalei is smart, sweet, and a bit of a goof. Great with other dogs. She is a gentle giant.  She is looking for a home where she has a dog buddy. Kalei is crate trained.   She knows sit and is working on other commands.   Kalei loves adventure and would love nothing more than exploring new walking trails or riding in the car. She is a great dog and will make a fabulous family member. Ms Kalei has not had a lot of luck. She was hit by a car when she was very young and came to the rescue with a broken leg. As soon as her leg was healed, we discovered she had a damaged hip as well.   Kalei has had a hip replacement from the car accident, her broken leg and her hip are both good as new - or bionic! She runs and plays with the rest of the pack.     Kalei is looking for a family that will love her forever!  =========================================================  Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area. Please call for specific locations. Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs. In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children.  Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you. Story
This is Teton, he is about 3 years old and is very large on account of his breed. He was taken care of as a puppy by someone but was unfortunately abandoned due to his size. He is a very sweet and relaxed dog with people, much like a gentle giant. He loves to eat produce like carrots and apples, he also loves to cuddle up to his humans like a lap dog. He will need an experienced owner to work with him on his leash training, since he is so large it is very easy for him to pull on the leash. He will also need work with other dogs, since he is not good with strange or little ones. He would do best in a home that's active and is without small animals. His adopter will receive a large bag Purina kibble, a bag of rawhide treats, a bag of apple yogurt cookies, a bag of fresh produce, and 6 months of heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. His current owner wants to ensure that he will be well taken care of and provided for in his new home.

Story
Chi made an excellent impression on me when I first met him. He was trained, he was loving and wanted nothing but attention. Despite his size, chi is an at home dog by definition. He only asks that you pet him every so often and let him know where you’re going. He’s active and loves to meet other dogs, especially small ones, but also loves to have a chill day in the house as long as he gets to touch some grass! Chi also serves as one of the best hug givers I’ve ever met (humans included). He is protective, but not overbearing whatsoever! He loves cats and smaller animals and does so well in their environment. His reactions are kind and thoughtful if he is not being received by other animals, and will respect their space if needed. Chi is one of the best dogs I’ve ever had, and I am truly sad to have to let him go. But I promise that whichever family is willing to love this guy the way I have, he will be the most loyal, most caring, most respectful and sound dog for your home.

Story
Meet Tula Tula is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix (3/4 Great Pyrenees and 1/4 Anatolian shepherd) she is the sweetest cuddle bug and a great protector. Tula would be an amazing addition to any farm or family with land that needs protecting. She is good with other dogs once she gets used to them sometimes she will get along with them and then out of nowhere become territorial which is why she would be better being the only dog in the household or an outdoor dog but she has been around dogs and done well with them also so it's possible. She is not super good with children always but she has gotten much more tolerant of kids and puppies bothering her she would just need to be supervised around any children. she's kinda like a grumpy old lady thats actually really sweet and loves hugs just needs some time to adjust. She does well with cats as well and small animals she ignores them mostly. She is completely house trained and kennel trained but she refers being outside.

Story
Hello, My name is Oliver and I am a 5 year old Great Pyrenees/German Sheppard mix. I am friendly with other humans and dogs (I can be shy at first). I am goofy and a great companion to others. However, I can be terrified of rain, thunder, and wind. I prefer to be in a cozy space where I can hear less wind. I also am scared of children. Though I am harmless to children, I would like to be away from them as much as possible. I am fine with the crate. I love to run and play tug of war. I know how to sit, stay, turn around. My current parents are unable to keep me in a crate all day due to their grueling work hours. Mom will be gone 12 hrs a day, dad will be gone for 2 days straight. Crating during their work days haven’t been ideal for myself or my parents. I would love a new home to parents who can commit more time and resources to me as I am ready for a new energetic and playful family.
