Story
Charlie is an extremely loving dog that would be loyal to anyone. He loves to play, wrestle and be petted. He is good with and gets along with just about any dog. I would say that Charlie loves to cuddle and is great to cuddle with. Since he is a big dog, he would benefit with having a bit of room to run around. His size can be intimidating to younger children but he is in no way aggressive toward them. Charlie loves to play and is a very curious hound. Because we have land and livestock animals, along with chickens, barn cats and different fowl, he tends to overstep his playfulness and ends up killing our other animals. My elderly father also lives with us and has had some balance issues arise in the last few years. Charlie’s size and abundant affection has caused a couple of unintended falls that my dad has suffered. We believe that Charlie would be a great addition to an active family!

Story
We call her Almond because of the brown almond shape on her forehead. She is a sweet dog, about 60 lbs, almost 1 year old, and loves to chase and chew her toy (or anything left on the ground.) She is a little dominant towards our smaller dog, but is never aggressive towards him, our cats, or our 3 year old, even when she gets in her face or pulls her hair, etc. We have had success teaching her to sit, stay, wait for food, shake, and she is house-trained. Really, the only downside has been her barking at deer and people walking by the yard or trying to run after deer on walks, although I have made some progress with her. Please reach out if you have any questions about Almond. Willing to drive anywhere around the Austin area.

Story
ATTENTION FARMERS/RANCHERS WHO NEED A GUARDIAN/WORKING DOG: Our dog, Banjo, has become too aggressive towards us in the past 6 months (full disclosure: he has bitten a few times, including a child). We gave him a great, loving home for 2 years, but he is no longer a good fit for us. We really don't want to have to put him down because we believe he needs to be an outside dog on a farm or ranch with no kids around. He was actually born on a farm and probably should have stayed in that type of environment. His birthday is 11/10/22. His mom is a lab, and his dad is great pyrenees. They are both working dogs. He has not been neutered. Please reach out if you think you can take him in!

Story
We adopted Lola about 4 years ago. She is now 4years, 3 months old. She is a good dog, very people friendly. She likes to choose her dog friends. She is not too keen on little dogs. She needs a large fenced yard to run around. She likes to be outside. Our lifestyle has changed, as we full time rv, so this is not a good life for her. She needs lots of exercise.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Bolt is still patiently waiting for his forever home.  Bolt came into rescue after being taken to a shelter by a family that said he had grown to be "too big".  While in rescue, he was caught in a weird matrix around Covid and post Covid and hardly received any applications. And for some reason we couldn’t secure a foster for him-until now.  Bolt has been in boarding all this time and although the people there took such great care of him, he much deserves his forever home.  He’s a sweet guy, he loves people and wants to follow his foster mom everywhere!  His foster mom is just getting to know him, but so far he’s a polite guest, not at all destructive, and asks to go outside when he needs to do his business.  He seems very smart and alert!  He’s quite a counter surfer but so far has only secured paper towels that he loves to shred.  He can get excited when meeting new people and greet them with hugs but settles down quickly. He’s being slowly tested with other dogs and cats as he gets comfortable in his new home.  He has DNA pending and we’ll update that when we know! Bolt is currently in Tacoma, WA and can be transported within OR-WA. All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  Adoption Fee: $175 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. Adoption applications can be found on our website: www.greatpyrsandpaws.org https://greatpyrsandpaws.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5959   Northwest adopter pays cost of transport to independent transport company.  Transport is arranged by GPPR.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 9:44 am
