Story
Meet Max! He’s a lovable giant—a Great Pyrenees German shepherd mix. He’s 2 years old and about 65 pounds. He’s friendly and loving. This big boy has boundless energy and a cheerful personality that will bring joy to any home. He’s house trained and absolutely adores people, especially kids. He was surrendered to us because his previous owner didn’t have a fence and the neighbors were threatening to shoot him.Max is a social butterfly who loves hanging out with other dogs—as long as they mind their manners. He’s all about good vibes and gets along great with friendly, easygoing pups. Rude or pushy dogs? Not Max’s style! With his happy-go-lucky attitude, Max is ready for adventures, snuggles, and a family to call his own. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who’s as sweet as he is large, Max might just be your perfect match!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as "Out of Town" pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

Story
Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 7-month-old Great Pyrenees that was purchased initially from a breeder. She is a pure-bred GP pup. She weighs about 79 pounds and may be 90 lbs. full grown. The person that is surrendering her didn’t know this dog would be this large. She hasn’t been worked with a lot so has some puppy skills. She isn’t great on leash but we will work with that. A Great Pyrenees is a guardian breed and is a wonderful breed for children or with other animals. She is good with a cat and other dogs. She is also good in the car. She is not spayed yet but is on the schedule to be spayed soon. She has a long beautiful coat and would be a perfect breed for the cooler climates. The Great Pyrenees will need a fenced yard. The underground fencing won’t be good for this breed. She is more mellow but should have all the qualities people love about this breed. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas anc can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Anna to CCPAL Rescue. Anna is a 3-year old Great Pyrenees. She is about 65 pounds and we saved from a high kill Animal Control here in Texas. She was pregnant so CCPAL took her in. She was too far along and we didn’t want to see her or her puppies euthanized. She had 9 puppies. They are about weaned so she will begin to dry up and be ready for her forever home. She does not have the extra dew claw on her back feet but some of her puppies do have it. She is very mellow and doesn’t jump up. She is friendly and laid back to strangers. She would be great with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She could go with a family that is low to moderately active as she is very chill. She is good on a leash and in a car. She is good in a crate and has met lots of dogs smaller than herself and has done great with all of them. She wasn’t at all reactive on leash and is an overall wonderful dog. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We would love her to go more north because the temperatures are less warm and she has a big beautiful coat. She will need brushing to keep her beautiful coat. We would love someone that has owned a guardian breed. This is an amazing breed and will do better in a fence over underground fencing. She is healthy, vaccinated and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Story
Welcome Bertha to CCPAL Rescue. She is an 8 week old puppy that is now getting weaned and will be ready for her forever home. She is a big puppy and should weigh 65 pounds full grown. She has the Great Pyrenees toes on her back feet. She is shorter than some of the other puppies and she is big and stocky. She has a beautiful white coat and the volunteers here at the rescue have her bathed and brushed for her photo shoot. She weighs about 14 pounds already. She gets along well with her siblings. She is one of 9 puppies. She has a wonderful mother and this entire litter is sweet and gentle. She would be great for someone wanting to raise a large breed dog. She is a guardian breed and will be great with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She will need a fence over underground fencing. This is typical of this breed. She is good in a crate and good in a car. She is decent at baths and has already had a toenail clipping. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful trasporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. She is healthy, vaccinated and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Welcome Alvin to CCPAL Rescue. He is an 8-week-old puppy that is now getting weaned and will be ready for his forever home. He is a big puppy and should weigh 65- 70 pounds full grown. He does not have the Great Pyrenees extra toes on his back feet. He has a fluffy head and less color on his light khaki on his face than his brothers. He is bigger than the girls and one of the medium sized boys in this litter of 9. He is bigger than some of the other puppies. He has a beautiful white coat and the volunteers here at the rescue have him bathed and brushed for his photo shoot. He weighs about 15 pounds already. He gets along well with his siblings. He is one of 9 puppies. He has a wonderful mother and this entire litter is sweet and gentle. He would be great for someone wanting to raise a large breed dog. He is a guardian breed and will be great with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Someone that does not work all day every day is best. He will need to finish his puppy training and be socialized by being with his family. He will need a fence over underground fencing. This is typical of this breed. He is good in a crate and good in a car. He is decent at baths and has already had a toenail clipping. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont, or all along the East Coast.
