Story
Nova is incredibly sweet, loyal and tolerant of our little ones. She is crate trained and house broken. Enjoys laying in the dark cool closet and all the belly rubs. We have an older dog who just is not enjoying the puppy playful nature. Nova recently went to groomers and did excellent. We want to find her a loving home as we rescued her from the shelter and wish to not return hee. Up to date on shots, microchipped, freshly groomed, spayed, etc

Story
Bear is his name and he is about to be 6 years old. Full of energy loves toys and playing. He was found as a feral pup and brought up with love. He is skiddish with people but does warm up. Hates care rides(scared), never been food aggressive, never bit anyone, just wants love and play outside. He has warmed up to my neighbors and their dog but I do not have the land or space to provide him on top of my having to travel for work often. He is potty trained and can loosely sit but he is strong minded and likes to stay outside when you say in. I want him to go to a loving caring person or family with a good large fenced yard. He doesn’t roam freely and does walk on leash but he does pull.

Story
Roamer is a lovable Great Pyrenees mix found on Currie Street. He's not as big as some Pyrs weighing only 63 pounds and he's estimated to be 4 years old. Personality plus with this guy! Does seem to be particular about his doggie friends.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!! Greetings! I'm Fluffy! My best friend, Poe, and I were allowed to wander the streets. Our owner just didn't care. I was pregnant at the time. Our rescuer begged for me to be able to come into rescue. So, our owner dumped me and unexpectedly and luckily dumped Poe too! I am a very pretty girl that is about three to four years old. I am mostly fluff and I weigh around eighty pounds. We are the friendliest duo and are exceptionally loving! We adore people and other doggies. We do love children but I can get excitable, so small children may get overwhelmed. We are true buddies. You will always find us hanging out together. We enjoy adventures and would follow you to the ends of the earth. All you have to do is make us yours! Love,Fluffy & Poe *Guest Posting**Discount for two!***Adoption Fee $275 for both If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, tell us and we will email it to you.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm

Story
Daisy turned 1 year old on Feb 13, 2025. I have had her for 6 months. She will go to the bathroom outside but occasionally will have an accident in the house. She’s so loving and happy. She jumps and I haven’t been able to break her of this habit. She also pulls on the leash sometimes. I got her when I was only working 36 hours a week and now I’m working 60 hours a week and barely making ends meet. She is crate trained. If needed I can provide the crate too. I want her to go to someone who has time for her and who can afford to take care of her. It breaks my heart to rehome her but it’s what is best for her. I can provide her crate, pet bed, bowls, leash, collar and whatever food amount of food I have at time of adoption. I have some toys for her too.
