Story
Zuzu : a spunky name for a spunky gal! Zuzu is a 2 yo Great Pyrenees with a unique feature: a corkscrew tail! This very much epitomizes her upbeat and playful nature. Zuzu is HIGH energy, ready to engage in wrestling, tug, or zooming with any & every dog in your household! The only time she slows down & her tail uncorks is when she sleeps. Her past is a mystery. She was found as a stray in Hondo with evidence of sometime having had a litter of puppies. Her coat was a matted mess, so she had to be shaved. An abundance (if you know the breed you know ) of soft white fur is growing in. Great Pyrenees are fantastic family dogs, taking guardianship of their family seriously. Because of her go-go-go nature, Zuzu would do best in a home with a lively companion dog that will submit to her dominant nature. Also true to breed, although she understands basic commands, Zuzu weighs them & independently decides whether or not to follow them at any given time. Persistence, patience & acceptance of this gentle giant’s qualities are needed. She is a gorgeous good dog waiting for her “furever” home. Love and laughter are sure to follow her lively antics. Needs a companion dog due to her HIGH energy and active family best. Local adoption fee is $200(in TX)Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Marilyn is one of  many Tennessee stories that tends to haunt the Great Pyrenees breed that is given the task to protect and defend the flocks of a farmer. They are expected to give their life to defend the predators that tend to pray on flocks of farm animals in the dark of night.  What happens to these giants of gentleness and tender nature,  are that they are left with little medical care, heartworm prevention and appropriate food and monitoring.  Marilyn and her daughter Marlee were seen wondering on a remote Tennessee rural highway and not accepting the kindness of people who tried to approach.  They were scared and wary since people had apparently never been kind to the both of them.  Some determined rescue warriors made it their mission to win these two beautiful females over and to hopefully bring them in to a foster home and a rescue who would sponsor them.  It finally happened and Marilyn and Marlee were captured and drive to a wonderful small farm nearby who was owned by an experienced rescue lady.  Now Marilyn and her daughter are spayed  and will be ready for the caring homes that they deserve.    What we see in the personality of this beautiful white 5 year old angel called Marilyn, is that she is about 67 pounds and has many of the attributes of the Pyrenees breed. She is alert and watching and she knows when you are moving around doing chores and will come find you to stay close and oversee your work. We know that this girl will easily learn how to be a family companion who can trust that her humans do not need supervision during the day.  Marilyn is very sweet and loves pats and scratches. Her demeanor is calm and easy going as she patrols fences and checks out her indoor space.  We want this girl to relax and accept her new role of family companion.  If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Jack Junior has a heart full of Joy and ready for his special person to raise him right. Here is his story and plea: Hi there! My name is Junior, but once you meet me, you’ll understand why my friends call me 'Jumping' Jack Junior. I greet life with enthusiasm, joy, and a whole lot of bounce. I’m an 18-month-old Great Pyrenees mix boy with a gorgeous fluffy coat, an irresistibly curly tail, and a happy spirit that just wants to belong. I currently weigh around 60 pounds and expect to top out around 65–70 pounds once I’m fully grown. While I may look like a big teddy bear, I’m still a young dog learning how the world works—and I’ve had to learn it the hard way. My senior owner lost her home, and suddenly I found myself in a shelter in Texas along with other animals. That kind of loss and change was confusing and unsettling, and I bounced between foster homes trying to figure out what was expected of me. The good news? I’m now thriving. I’m living full-time with a professional trainer who welcomed me into her home and gave me what I had been missing all along: structure, consistency, and clear leadership. With calm boundaries and daily guidance, I’ve learned how to respond appropriately to the world around me. I’ve made huge strides, and my trainer says I’m ready to move forward with the right person or family. I do best with confident, experienced dog owners who understand the importance of leadership and routine. I need a securely fenced yard, regular exercise, and continued structure. I would do best as the only dog in the home and in a family with older children who can respect my space and training. With the right setup, I will form a deep, loyal bond and become a truly special companion. My trainer loves me deeply and is committed to my success—she will happily be a resource and support system for my future family whenever needed. If you’re an active, dog-savvy person looking for a joyful, intelligent companion who is ready to blossom in the right hands, I might be your boy. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to ask questions and request an application. Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Shrek is a great name for me! I am kind of a sweet OGRE looking boy with a loving heart and kind of beat up body. It is HARD to live on the streets! I had an old injury so limping was my norm. It was discovered that my back leg had been broken and healed very wonky. Now my bad leg is gone and I am pain free! NOW, I am a healthy TRIPOD boy looking for just the right family...one who will care for me for all my days! I deserve it and you deserve this cute OGRE in your life too!
