Story
Adoption donation $499 weight  79 lbs  Age: 1 year as of 3/23/2024              Logan is a friendly and sweet boy who is the quintessential family dog, he adores children and just loves to be with his people. if you sit down, you will likely find his big head nestled on your lap. He loves toys and bones and is a very easy-going boy. Logan is 100% House trained.        Logan definitely needs a yard, this boy loves to be outside! He doesn’t go far, if you call him, he will come right over to you. he is leash trained and if you have a big enough crate, he will go in there for naps.         Logan’s father is a purebred Great Pyrenees and mom is a 35 lb mixed breed. His original owners in Mississippi put two of his sisters in a cardboard box in front of their house with a sign that said “free puppies.” Wags rescued the puppies and found them loving homes. The owners refused to give up Logan and his sister Lila but kept them tied up outdoors. Wags was finally able to  convince them to relinquish the two and Logan and Lila went to the rescue, enjoying freedom for the first time. Lila has just been adopted, now it’s time for Logan to find a loving home of his own.         Logan got along well with most of the dogs at the rescue, although he’s definitely the alpha male and does not like to be challenged by another male. In his foster home in the northeast Logan lived with three females, including a puppy who jumped all over him, and he just wagged his tail. We’ve noticed that he does fine with small and medium dogs but tends to get more alpha with dogs his size. For that reason, we would prefer a home with dogs smaller than him or just a home where he can be the center of attention, he really just loves people so much.        Logan has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. He is a healthy boy who is ready to make a lucky family a loving companion. All Wags adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip  and transport to the northeast. Story
Meet Lucy! Lucy is just shy of 1 year old, currently around 45 lbs, and might have some Great Pyrenese in her mix. Lucy could join a home with dog-savvy older kids and would prefer to be an only dog. Cats are unknown. Her foster says, `If you are looking for a shadow, here she is!! Lucy loves her humans and would love to be with you every moment she can. Luckily she also likes to play with other dogs, so you can have a break from all her attention she wants to lavish on you. She is a pretty calm girl, with spurts of play energy. Once she has had a nice walk or a game of tag with her pack mates she is ready for a nap in the fall sunshine or on the comfy sofa if she`s allowed. She is relatively quiet so far, but who knows if she will develop her voice to alert you once she knows what the routine sounds are. She is very sweet and loves to please, so training should be easy. She is warm and happy go lucky and will thrive with a family of her own.`She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on December 6th. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Lovey Sunshine is a beautiful Great Pyrenees mix who has found herself in need of a new home. This sweet, lovable mama was found pregnant and abandoned. Despite facing tough times, Lovey remains a shining example of resilience. She's friendly, outgoing, and incredibly affectionate. Lovey's puppies have all found loving homes, and now it's her turn She loves meeting new people, including kids, is friendly with other dogs and is tolerant of cats. She is housetrained, crate trained and walks pretty good on the leash but pulls a bit and would love to join you on a walk so she can get more practice. She is an affectionate girl that would love to be all yours! Basic group training classes is recommended to help her learn commands, socialize with other humans and dogs, as well as build that fur-ever bond with you! If you're ready to open your heart and home to this sweet girl, please reach out. Let's give Lovey the happily ever after she truly deserves! Lovey’s story: Abandoned by her previous owners when they moved away, this sweet, pregnant mom was left to fend for herself. Fortunately, a compassionate neighbor noticed Lovey's plight and began to feed her, but with puppies on the way, she knew Lovey needed more than just food—she needed a safe, loving environment to bring her babies into the world. That's when our southern rescue partner stepped in. Responding to the call for help, they put out an urgent plea for a foster. Answering the call, a kind-hearted foster family welcomed Lovey into their home. Just two days after her rescue, Lovey gave birth to 10 beautiful puppies, aptly named the Sunshine Litter. Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for heartworm disease.  Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future.  Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete.  Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and will be ready to travel north and be placed into an adoptive home.  This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment and is expected to complete treatment with no complications.  Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for and current status of this dog.  Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.  November 19, 2024, 12:27 pm

Story
This handsome guy with a few cute curls is looking for his forever home. He is bonded with his foster mom and doggie sister, but I feel he will adjust to a new home with a little time and patience. He hasn't had much socialization so is timid meeting people but quickly warms up and gives kisses. Jake will make a fantastic pet for an active individual or family. House & crate trained. NOTE: If both him and Joy are adopted by the same people, the second dog's adoption fee will be 1/2 price. **Any questions about Jake, please contact his foster mom at: (989)313 - 4874This dog is sheltered in a foster based, nonprofit rescue in Crossville, TN.
