Story
Meet Bentley! He is a 14 week old Australian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. Bentley is fully vaccinated, neutered, AND microchipped! He is working diligently on potty training, crate training, socializing and learning some obedience skills along the way. He is sleeping through the night 95% of the time and trying to get up to 100%. He is very comfortable in the crate!  Bentley enjoys playing with his brother and foster siblings, he has a bit of an awkward play style that involve lots of play bows and bouncing in circles. He is a sweet, funny boy! He's is curious of his foster mom's cats but is still respectful of their space. He doesn't not appreciate when they hiss at him and will immediately leave them alone when they tell him enough funny business. As far as people go, he loves everyone he meets! His scruffy look is equally adorable as unique. If he sounds like the puppy for you, please apply for him today! Adoptable from Paws Across Pittsburgh on or after 05/19/2024.  ##2055859##

Story
This is Mr. Milo. He is almost 9 months old and has been waiting patiently for the right person to find him. After being surrendered to a crowded shelter and being lost and found twice, Milo has some trust issues. He is slow to warm up to strangers and requires slow introductions with lots of positive reinforcement to feel safe. After a few months of settling in his foster home, we can see Milo's true personality shine. Milo is loyal and loves being close to his people. He loves to snuggle and crawl into your lap for cheek scritches, all 50 pounds of him! Milo is silly and playful. He loves hard chew toys, like nylabones and squeaky balls, but his absolute favorite toy is a cucumber from the garden! He tosses and bats them around the yard like a cat for hours! Milo loves his furry foster siblings, and has met and done well with some fellow foster pups, but he sometimes reacts fearfully to new dogs, so slow, carefully managed introductions to any resident dogs would be a must. Milo is smart and very treat-motivated. He has picked up basic obedience (sit, down, stand, paw, wait) quickly and he would thrive with continued training. He is not a fan of being crated, but he willingly eats all of his meals in a crate. He also doesn't do well left alone for long periods of time. After a few hours, he panics, worried that he's been abandoned again, and can be destructive. We use a camera with a speaker to watch him and reassure him when we're away and he is slowly increasing the time that he's comfortable on his own. Milo is a fantastic guard dog and will let you know if anything in the neighborhood is out of the ordinary with a booming bark. Neighbors that aren't too close or who don't mind some barking would be ideal. Milo is great on a leash, but because he is a flight risk, a fenced yard would help to keep him safe. If you are patient and willing to help Milo work through his issues, you will be rewarded with the best, most loyal friend anyone could ever ask for.   For more photos and videos of this guy, follow @mr.milo.cyp on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/mr.milo.cyp?igsh=MXh5aGhuaGZuY2ludw== ##2044128##

Story
Adoption donation $525 weight  79 lbs  Age: 1 year as of 3/23/2024              Logan is a friendly and sweet boy who is the quintessential family dog, he adores children and just loves to be with his people. if you sit down, you will likely find his big head nestled on your lap. He loves toys and bones and is a very easy-going boy. Logan is 100% House trained.        Logan definitely needs a yard, this boy loves to be outside! He doesn’t go far, if you call him, he will come right over to you. he is leash trained and if you have a big enough crate, he will go in there for naps.         Logan’s father is a purebred Great Pyrenees and mom is a 35 lb mixed breed. His original owners in Mississippi put two of his sisters in a cardboard box in front of their house with a sign that said “free puppies.” Wags rescued the puppies and found them loving homes. The owners refused to give up Logan and his sister Lila but kept them tied up outdoors. Wags was finally able to  convince them to relinquish the two and Logan and Lila went to the rescue, enjoying freedom for the first time. Lila has just been adopted, now it’s time for Logan to find a loving home of his own.         Logan got along well with most of the dogs at the rescue, although he’s definitely the alpha male and does not like to be challenged by another male. In his foster home in the northeast Logan lived with three females, including a puppy who jumped all over him, and he just wagged his tail. We’ve noticed that he does fine with small and medium dogs but tends to get more alpha with dogs his size. For that reason, we would prefer a home with dogs smaller than him or just a home where he can be the center of attention, he really just loves people so much.        Logan has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. He is a healthy boy who is ready to make a lucky family a loving companion. All Wags adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip  and transport to the northeast. Story
Meet handsome Buddy, he is 7 years old.… Buddy is calm, and friendly. He is initially a tad nervous and would benefit from a family that has love and patience to give him. He is gentle with his treats and not very demanding of your time. Buddy came from a situation where his owner passed away - but even in life, Buddy was left to his own devices… he is now learning what it’s like to be part of a family, and enjoying the interactions. A calm home where he can be a couch potato would suit him just fine. Kids over 10-12 who know proper dog etiquette, Buddy would adore that. Buddy does need to make up for all the love he lost out on, so that’s only fair - we’re hopeful that in his later years we can find someone to offer him the loving companionship that he has been looking for.. Buddy will be an amazing addition to a family that gives him some time to come out of his shell and has a low key, calm household. He will be a super easy dog who would demand nothing more than a soft bed, two square meals and humans who love and adore her like he deserves. If you are interested in Meeting this wonderful boy.. please contact Sandy or The Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania Rescue - thur www.swpapyr.org, or respond by e-mail - Buddy will LOVE you for it! We will also need you to fill out our adoption survey - Buddy will need an above ground fence for safe play and exercise. We are looking for homes in the surrounding Pittsburgh area. For more information please contact Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania Rescue, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue
