Story
Need someone to dust away the cobwebs gathering on your heart? Dusty is on the job! This handsome 1.5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with the feather duster tail is ready for some good, clean fun. Despite his age, this happy boy is super calm, gentle and well-behaved. He loves to run, play and be by your side getting butt scratches. He's a dream to walk on the leash and would be an excellent hiking partner. Dusty came to us with his brother, Chewy, but it's only obvious they're related by looking closely at their faces side-by-side. While they get along great, they don't have to go to the same home. They're both good with other dogs, cats and kids. Both boys are neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Apply to adopt your new best friend at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt or at the sanctuary any time we're open. Call 570-376-3646 or email secondchanceas@yahoo.com with any questions. >> PA kennel license #04944

Story
Chewy is looking for a Millennium Falcon to call home and a Han Solo to call his BFF! This happy-go-lucky wookie has a smile and heart as big as his namesake, and he's ready to be your best co-pilot. We're told he's a 1.5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix (mixed with what, we're not sure, but there's obviously lots of good boy in there!). Chewy is friendly and well-behaved, even in public settings with crowds and other dogs! Chewy came to us with his brother, Dusty, but it's only obvious they're related by looking closely at their faces side-by-side. While they get along great, they don't have to go to the same home. They're both good with other dogs (Chewy just doesn't like sharing his food), cats and kids. Both boys are neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Story
IMPORTANT: Athena is NOT at the shelter, so if interested in meeting her, please call us at 570-376-3646 so we can arrange a time. Athena is looking for a place to land that's as soft as she is! This beautiful 2-year-old cloud lady who came to us over the summer is very loved in her current home, but she just needs a different environment to thrive. Typical of Great Pyrenees, she's protective of her people. We're hoping to find a quieter home that doesn't get ton of visitors, and a place where she can have a "job" to focus that urge to protect. She doesn't have experience with livestock, but she may be able to learn. However, she should primarily live inside with her people as a treasured family member. Her current home says, "She is a beautiful dog and has learned to walk on a leash. She likes to be outside, but also likes to be inside cuddling on our laps. She has bonded with my two daughters (22yrs and 20yrs) and I." Athena seems to have made friends with the cat in her home, and previously lived with other dogs, though she'll require a meet and greet with any potential dog siblings. Athena is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. IMPORTANT: Again, Athena is NOT at the shelter, so if interested in meeting her, please call us at 570-376-3646 so we can arrange a time. Or, fill out an adoption application online at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt.
