Story
Dexter is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix who is ready to find a family to call his own. This gentle giant was surrendered due to a change in his familys living situation, and now he is searching for a kind-hearted home where he can feel safe, loved, and cherished.Though Dexter is a bit shy when meeting new people, once he trusts you, he will shower you with affection, offering all the hugs and cuddles a dog can give! At heart, he is a big, soft teddy bear who just wants to be close to his loved ones. Because he is a little timid, Dexter would thrive in a calm, peaceful environment where he can take his time adjusting and building confidence at his own pace. He is good with other pets, having lived with cats, kids, and even a Chihuahua, but older, dog-savvy children who can respect his space would be the best fit for him.On walks, Dexter loves to sniff everything he can, so he is a curious companion. He could use a bit of a refresher when it comes to leash manners, as he tends to get a little excited about all the wonderful scents. With some gentle training, hell be walking like a pro in no time!Dexter is crate-trained and house-trained, so he is well-behaved indoors. He enjoys lounging around but is always up for a quiet stroll or a bit of outdoor playtime if the mood strikes. He is the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a calm, affectionate dog with a loving nature. If you are looking for a loyal friend who will offer endless love and devotion, Dexter could be the one for you. Come meet this sweet boy and see how he fits right into your family he is waiting for his second chance at happiness! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- MAYA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION. Story
Meet Tyberious! This handsome pup came to us in November 2023 and is looking for a patient home that will continue teaching him that the world and new people are not so scary! There is reason to believe that Tyberious was not treated the kindest in his previous home and will need to go into a home where only positive reinforcement training is used and where the people in his home can provide a structured environment for him to continue building his confidence. In his time with us, Tyberious has been very neutral and curious about other animals. He pays no mind to the other dogs in the kennel and has been friendly with with the office cats he has met! He is a very smart and food-motivated dog and has made a lot of progress even with his basic training since coming to us. Ty currently knows 'sit' ,'down', 'off' and is working on 'leave it' and his leash manners. There is nothing he is not willing to work on as long as he is given a treat in return! Tyberious is an extremely goofy pup once he gets comfortable with you! He is an absolute cuddle bug once he has bonded with you and wants nothing more than to snuggle He is always ready to play a game of tug whether he is lounging around with you inside or hanging around outside. Tyberious loves exploring the outdoors and going on car rides as long as he has someone there to reassure him that everything is fine. He gravitates more toward the women he has met but with patience (and treats!) does warm up to men as long as he is provided the time to get to know them. Once he has all that puppy energy out, Tyberious settles well and enjoys having a chew or Kong to entertain himself with. Squeaky toys and stuffed toys are his absolute favorite to play with and he will keep himself endlessly entertained by tossing them around or playing fetch. All this big boy wants to do is find a home where he can grow into the wonderful dog staff knows him to be! If you are interested in visiting Tyberious and have an approved application, feel free to contact us about more information or a time to meet!

Story
These 3 sweet girls have had a rough start to life. They have a neurological condition, but their spirit is just as bright as ever. These babies are blind and "circle" when excited. After a work up with a specialist, we believe it is due to a lack of oxygen in utero or during birth. Despite her unique challenges, her condition is not believed to be degenerative, and she's ready to find a home where she can thrive! She needs a calm, patient family with routine, securely fenced yard and another dog to help guide and comfort her. She may be blind, but with love and support, she'll quickly find her way around and settle in as a beloved member of your family. She's already shown amazing resilience, and with no structural issues in her brain or spine, she's ready to live a full and happy life in a home that's equipped to give her the care and understanding she needs. If you're looking for a sweet, loving companion and have the right environment to help her feel safe, she could be the perfect addition to your family.
