Story
Meet Sam, the definition of a loyal best friend—faithful, sweet, and always ready to be by your side. He’s the ultimate cuddle bug, the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world just by resting his head on your lap. Born around June 2015, Sam gets along great with other dogs, both male and female, and even respects the mysterious ways of cats (a rare talent, indeed). Sam is a gentleman who understands boundaries, whether that’s giving his dog friends space or letting his humans know when he’s not in the mood for certain interactions. Speaking of personal space—Sam has a few non-negotiables. He has specific no-go zones when it comes to being touched, and he doesn’t appreciate feeling cornered. When it comes to grooming, he prefers the VIP treatment (which means sedation). Because of this, he’s best suited for an adult-only home with someone who understands and respects his needs. But don’t let his boundaries deter you—Sam is an absolute sweetheart with a ton of love to give. He absolutely adores his daily walks and strolls beautifully on a leash, taking in the sights and smells like a true explorer. He’s also crate-trained and has a deep appreciation for a cozy dog bed—because hey, comfort is key! He’s still working on remembering that inside isn’t the place for marking, so a little patience (and perhaps a belly band) will go a long way. For the right person—someone who appreciates a loyal, loving dog with a touch of independent spirit—Sam is ready to be the best companion you could ever ask for. If you’re looking for a big-hearted fellow with a little extra personality, Sam just might be your perfect match! Story
Meet Falkor! Falkor was living as a stray until he was picked up by animal control. We knew a high kill, rural shelter was no place for this gentle giant and he is now happily, safe with us. Falkor is a big, tall boy at 95 pounds. It's hard to imagine but we believe he is still somewhat of a puppy at just around a year old. Falkor is oh SO sweet and enjoys being around people. He will lean against you with his whole body every chance he gets He has done well with other dogs and could live with another large dog. His history with cats and small animals is unknown. Its clear that living inside, wearing a collar and walking on leash are all new to Falkor. These things will take time for him and adopters will need to be patient and be ready to put in some work. Due to his easy going nature and willingness to please, we don't think it will take long. We will only be considering homes with tall, securely fenced yards (no apartments) and breed experience preferred. We are still getting to know our fluffy polar bear so in the meantime, be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Falkor's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Falkor would do great in a home with...Cats : Dogs : Yep!  Kiddos : 10+    ##2292410##

Story
Some people have space heaters under their desks to keep their feet warm- with Ellie, you won’t need that anymore! This precious girl is a total office dog, she loves to lay under our desks here at the rescue, and she’s so warm and friendly with everyone that she meets that she could definitely become a staple at your office! Put this girl on the payroll- department: HR, job title: Morale Booster! We estimate Ellie’s age to be around 2 years old, just past the terrors of puppyhood but still young and eager to learn. Ellie is believed to be a Great Pyrenees, Lab mix, but she is a rescue so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Meet Ellie here: https://youtu.be/_nUYZvE4gCA?feature=shared The first thing people notice about Ellie is her beauty, and the second thing people notice about Ellie is her kindness. This sweet girl greets strangers with relaxed body language, a wagging tail, and as many kisses as they’ll allow. She’ll haul the front half of her body up onto the couch to give you her signature half snuggle, and she’ll let you hug and snuggle her. She has such soft fur too- petting Ellie is scientifically proven to reduce stress! With other dogs, Ellie is just as friendly! She’s relaxed, warm and welcoming with new dogs, and playful too! She’ll sniff a few times, and then bounce over, stretch into a big play bow, and then it’s off to the races! Chase and wrestling are her specialty, but she’s not too rough with the other pups. She has a lightness to her that makes even her most energetic jumps land softly, which is appreciated by the other dogs at the rescue. Ellie could thrive in just about any multi-dog home, she’s a total doggy-daycare type, a polite socialite with her canine companions. Here at the rescue, Ellie met a kitty. She was perfectly unfazed by their first meet and greet, and the second time around it only got cuter- Ellie gave our house cat some forehead kisses! We think Ellie would be perfectly fine living in a home with a dog-savvy kitty. Ellie has many of the “good dog” skills down already, she has good house manners and doesn’t pull too much on leash. She is still learning her leash manners, and with a little more polishing she’ll be a perfect walking companion in no time. Ellie also has a wonderfully balanced energy level that allows her to both play-play-play outside and settle quickly for a nap once inside. Ellie does ask that we let her potential adopters know that she is scared of passing cars, this is true for many rescue dogs but it is worth mentioning that Ellie handles that stress incredibly well. She doesn’t get grumpy with humans or other dogs because of it, she doesn’t run away or pancake to the ground- she’s a very good and well mannered girl! Because of this, we think she would be happier in a home in a suburban or rural area- no “big city life” for this soft and easy going girl. Ellie is ready for her happily ever after! She could do well in a multi-dog home, or as your one and only. She could live with dog-savvy kitties! While we haven’t seen her with kids just yet, we think Ellie could make a good family dog for a home with kids over 5. We do not recommend Ellie for a home with dogs under twenty pounds. We believe Ellie would be happier in a house than in an apartment. Ellie will require a family that is dedicated and willing to follow our standard decompression protocol. We are willing to test Ellie with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. The adoption fee is $825 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
