Story
“Meet Jaxon! This 3 year old Great Pyrenees, is large, in charge, and ready to rule your roost/couch! Jaxon can organize a toy mess in under 30 seconds and he can return a ball to you even faster. His favorite activities are making sure his people and home are safe, picking up litter on walks so you can discard it (cares about his environment!), and babysitting tennis balls. What he lacks in small-ness he makes up for in the puppy playfulness. He’s crate-trained, good on a leash with harness, and mostly house-trained (so close!). His foster home includes both cats and dogs and he prefers his kitty friends. Interested adopters should expect a couple rounds of dog-testing with any existing dogs (low energy females preferred) and some warm-up time with men.” Age: 3 years old approx Weight: approx 65 lbs Temperament: Gets along with adults, kids, dogs Training: house trained. Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative For questions about Jaxon, please email. chelseacna@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself

Story
Remi is a 4.9-year-old, 60 lb super mutt who has sadly lost the only home she’s ever known. She’s a mix of many breeds and is full of love and loyalty. Remi adores people, including kids, and plays well with dogs her size or larger, but small dogs aren’t a good fit for her. She’s obedient, eager to please, and affectionate, making her a wonderful companion. Remi is also house trained and ready to find her forever family. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving dog to join your home, Remi is waiting! Apply at EHRDOGS.ORG. November 15, 2024, 10:19 am

Story
We are so proud to introduce a special boy named Tex.  He is a Great Pyr mixef with Anatolian Shepherd And is only 20 months old and 80 lb. This boy was part of accidental litters born on a 100 acre farm that was raising goats and the owner failed to spay the females who were guarding the goats.  Soon there were way too many dogs on the property and the man was running out of money to feed the dogs as well as the goats. Tex is one of those special boys that is not only handsome, but he is a deeply thoughtful and gentle dog who has the spirit of an old soul. True to his breeds - Anatolian Shepherd and Great Pyrenees, Tex is a watcher and would rather sit on his haunches to see things unfold than jump in the middle of something to make things happen.  He approaches everything like that...Whether it's dinner time, where he is waiting to see which bowl is his, or when he is running out in the foster's field watching and waiting to decide which group of dogs he wants to play with.  All decisions are measured and thoughtful. He approaches people like that as well. It took him awhile to seek his foster out for a pat and an ear scratch. He has never had an unkind word with anyone but insists on guarding his heart until he knows for sure that everything will be ok. When he comes in the house he checks out every room (patrolling as he would outside) and then finds his happy spot to watch and observe his people.  Tex is a treasure to consider in your lifetime of dog ownership. He will be a very special one that will have an entire long and loving chapter in your book of life. If you are interested in this boy we call Tex, Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 11, 2024, 5:36 pm

Story
This charismatic and beautiful young 1 to 2-year-old, 72 lb Great Pyrenees girl is called Myra. Found in the Nashville Tennessee area on the beautiful Natchez Trace, historic Road, Myra is now currently in a small rescue that has given her limited time to find her way to Foster home or a forever home through Critter Cavalry Rescue. This girl has a warm and uplifting smile and a huge desire to be petted and given attention. No one came forward after 10 days to claim her and so her clock is now ticking rather fast and loud. She must get out of the shelter and Critter Cavalry Rescue has now started the search for that perfect foster or forever home. She is a beauty that doesn't need her life to be snuffed out at a shelter. Critter Cavalry is more than willing to pay all cost for this girl to exist somewhere temporarily or hopefully we can find a forever home soon. Please contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com or leave a text message at 615-661-5333. Story
Ms. Lady is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees mix who is super sweet, friendly with people and dogs and who would probably would be fine with cats because of her easy-going disposition. She is crate trained and housetrained but could use more leash training - she is rarely leashed as she has a big beautiful backyard to run around in her foster home in Texas! Lady has been thriving in foster as she recovers from Valley Fever. Although she has no symptoms, she must stay on the meds until her bloodwork comes back negative with a few more months on the meds. Lady is already fully vetted and other than the Valley Fever she is healthy, heartworm negative, has no tick borne diseases and is on monthly preventatives, etc.   Lady is about 4 years old and weighs 68 pounds. She is not a fence jumper, although she is not left outside unsupervised. This gal is just happy to be in a home where someone is treating well and she does not have to worry about where her next meal is coming from. She came into a Texas shelter with another Pyr mix (possibly her brother) - both were owner surrendered because owners were letting them run loose and they did not want to pay the fine. The brother went to a local Austin rescue and Lady is now with NorthStar. If you've always wanted to have a Great Pyrenees in your family, just fill out an application at www.northstarpets.org and ask to meet this sweet gal!November 3, 2024, 7:59 pm
