Story
I got Takoda from a foster home in 2017 as a 4 month old pup. She is coming up on 7 years old in August. Takoda is a gentle giant that loves to cuddle. She has been an inside dog all her life, but has enjoyed roaming our 6.5 acre farm when she goes out. She sheds a lot, and needs regular grooming, but she is a chill dog and loves to lounge. She has always had other dogs in the house, and never fought at dog parks. That being said, she tends to bark and pull towards other dogs when on the leash because I haven’t kept up with her training in the last couple years.. She generally gets a long with other dogs, rarely when there is food involved, she will get in a brief fight. Once, I saw her get stressed out and overwhelmed by a new environment and younger dogs getting in her face, and she nipped and barked to get them back, but that’s the extent of her aggression. The only reason I am looking to rehome her is because I am moving out of the country and can’t take her with me.

Story
I wanted to reach out to you all today about Maizy, a 7-year-old dog in need of a loving forever home. My wife and I recently had a baby, with another on the way, and Maizy’s resource guarding is too much of a risk. Despite her challenges, she is a loving and affectionate companion. She does have resource guarding behavior, so it would be best if she finds a home without young children or other dogs. However, she gets along well with older kids, adults, and even cats. She is loyal and protective, and with the right person or family, she will be a devoted companion. If you or someone you know has experience with rescue dogs and would be interested in giving Maizy a loving forever home, please reach out to me at (xxx) xxx-xxxx . I have attached recent photos of Maizy so you can see her sweet nature. Thank you for considering whether you or someone you know might be the perfect match for Maizy. Together, we can make a difference in her life and provide her with the loving home she deserves.

Story
Jimmy has loved every person he's met! He's young, around one year old, and about 60 pounds. We think he's a Great Pyrenees mix, which means he's got some livestock guardian dog in him and explains why he might be a tad dog selective. Jimmy was removed for neglect from his previous home so the next home needs to be his perfect home. If you think your home is exactly what a great dog like Jimmy needs, please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. Jimmy is in the KC metro. Transport might be available to the right home.

Story
Hi there! I'm Asher, 100lbs of fur and I'm looking for a forever home. Some things about me...Clearly, I'm a handsome boy, But I'm also sweet as can be. I've never met a man, woman or child I didn't immediately love. I'd prefer to be next to you always. I am a gentle giant who loves nothing more than spending time with my people. I'm a total lap dog at heart and will happily snuggle up with you on the couch for hours on end. I'm a great companion for families or individuals looking for a loyal and loving friend. I'd love a big back yard to roam and a daily walk. I look forward to playing with other dogs, too. I'm almost fully house trained but can be tempted by indoor plants at my foster home, so please allow me outside on the regular. (Nobody's perfect). I have gone through heartworm treatment thanks to Lucky 13. I will next need see an orthopedic surgeon. I have a bum front leg that was caught in some barbed wire years ago that was never properly cared for. The vets initial thoughts are I will need a half leg amputation. Don't let this scare you away! There are lots of tripods out there living their best lives. Asher is only available through our foster to adopt program. (Must live within 60 miles of Kansas City). Asher will come fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, completed leg surgery and up to date on heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $200. Apply to adopt Asher today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.
