If you would be interested in bringing beautiful Snowman into your heart and home, please copy/paste the following link into your browser for an application. HOWEVER, if you are not certain you are ready for a dog in your life, and all family members are not on board, please do not proceed to this step. www.tinyurl.com/adopt-shpr Ah, the beautiful Snowman - so much to say. This dog is a jewel. The quintessential "gentle giant". A big baby. Snowman came to us in terrible shape. He only weighed 45 lbs. His coat extremely matted. Intact. Thankfully, he was heartworm negative. For that we are grateful. From the minute he walked into our facility, his life began to change. It started with a nice bath, getting all his vaccines up to date, his heartworm test, and all his preventatives being brought on board. Next, we started on those mats. He was so good and cooperative as we worked to get them out - even though I'm sure it hurt. During all of this, you could literally see the relief on his face, and the happiness to be WITH someone, someone who cared. Now, he's been neutered, and we've continued to work on his mats and have most if not all, out. He's put on 15 lbs. Needs more - much more, but he looks so much better already. And we've learned that he loves other dogs. He is sharing a space with another bigger dog - Prince, who is also listed on this site. They are best buds. Snowman is a total sweetheart, and loves people. He will make a fantastic family dog. He'd love to know what a family who truly loves him. Right now, he weighs 65 lbs, but needs to gain more. He is about 3 years old. This is a wonderful dog. He is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped. His adoption fee is $400. www.tinyurl.com/adopt-shpr

Story
Odin is a 2 yr old Pyrenees. We adopted Odin when he was 4 months old. When we adopted him, we had a large wooded property with few neighbors so Odin's deep bark was not an issue. However, we have since moved to a small community with VERY close neighbors. Odin's problematic barking cannot be ignored and it is causing escalating issues with our neighbors. Rehoming Odin is our last option but we are now there that our neighbors are beginning to file complaints. We tried overtures but no one can get past the barking. Odin is a wonderful family dog who has been a nanny to my youngest since the day she was born. He loves to be outside with his family or just patrolling his yard. He doesn't fetch well but he loves to play "keep away" and "chase". He lives with two other dogs and a cat and plays with all of them. He is not aggressive with any person or animal but will become aggressive if his food bowl is left out or another dog is able to access his food. Please help.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/wally2021/ Hi - Wally is my name! I am a beautiful boy as you can clearly see! As a Great Pyrenees mix I have a beautiful, soft coat and sweet eyes. I am also a dog that needs some space and I love to have room to roam outside. I did not come to FOHA with a lot of information, but they think that I may not have lived much time in a home. Some of the things in the home can scare me like the TV. So I will need to be in a home with no kids because the activity may be too much. I should also not be on a farm with small livestock. I would like a yard and outside space to explore. Apartment and condo living is not a good fit for me. I would do well with a family with Great Pyrenees experience who understands the ins and outs of my breed. I can use some training to help me be the best me! If this sounds like you, please submit an application and my friends at FOHA will schedule a time for us to meet! See you soon!! Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Story
Odin is a truly handsome, young, 88 pound, Great Pyr boy that was born 1/2/23 and is looking for a family to love and chill with.  This big boy is fully grown and is the so very easy going and good natured.  He was raised with his brother Thor on a country property owned by a senior lady who has come to realize that both the brothers need homes where they can be an inside dog and part of the family.  She cannot provide that and so is now willing to let each one go to separate families that might have children (he loves children) and to be a part of maybe even living with other dogs or cats.  He is good with everyone he meets and all creatures.  This boy is not housebroken as he has never been inside for any length of time to learn the rules and the signals for potty breaks.  He is a loving and easy dog to have around and we want him to become a part of a family life that offers him a big dog bed and lots of love and guidance.  He is good with meeting new people and doesn’t bark excessively at all.  He will bark if he is bored outside in a pen.  He plays nicely and is fun and happy.  If you are interested in this one year old handsome boy please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and let us know where you live:  city and state and let’s start a conversation about him possibly becoming a part of a special family lifestyle.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.           PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
We are so proud to introduce a special boy named Tex.  He is a Great Pyr mixef with Anatolian Shepherd And is only 20 months old and 80 lb. This boy was part of accidental litters born on a 100 acre farm that was raising goats and the owner failed to spay the females who were guarding the goats.  Soon there were way too many dogs on the property and the man was running out of money to feed the dogs as well as the goats. Tex is one of those special boys that is not only handsome, but he is a deeply thoughtful and gentle dog who has the spirit of an old soul. True to his breeds - Anatolian Shepherd and Great Pyrenees, Tex is a watcher and would rather sit on his haunches to see things unfold than jump in the middle of something to make things happen.  He approaches everything like that...Whether it's dinner time, where he is waiting to see which bowl is his, or when he is running out in the foster's field watching and waiting to decide which group of dogs he wants to play with.  All decisions are measured and thoughtful. He approaches people like that as well. It took him awhile to seek his foster out for a pat and an ear scratch. He has never had an unkind word with anyone but insists on guarding his heart until he knows for sure that everything will be ok. When he comes in the house he checks out every room (patrolling as he would outside) and then finds his happy spot to watch and observe his people.  Tex is a treasure to consider in your lifetime of dog ownership. He will be a very special one that will have an entire long and loving chapter in your book of life. If you are interested in this boy we call Tex, Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 11, 2024, 7:28 pm

Story
This charismatic and beautiful young 1 to 2-year-old, 72 lb Great Pyrenees girl is called Myra. Found in the Nashville Tennessee area on the beautiful Natchez Trace, historic Road, Myra is now currently in a small rescue that has given her limited time to find her way to Foster home or a forever home through Critter Cavalry Rescue. This girl has a warm and uplifting smile and a huge desire to be petted and given attention. No one came forward after 10 days to claim her and so her clock is now ticking rather fast and loud. She must get out of the shelter and Critter Cavalry Rescue has now started the search for that perfect foster or forever home. She is a beauty that doesn't need her life to be snuffed out at a shelter. Critter Cavalry is more than willing to pay all cost for this girl to exist somewhere temporarily or hopefully we can find a forever home soon. Please contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com or leave a text message at 615-661-5333.
