Story
Ever have someone tell you your head is in the clouds? Want it to be reality? Meet Handsome Sampson the fluffiest guy around. Sampson came to us extremely malnourished and unsure about if people are trustworthy after being abandoned on a farm with other LGD and all the livestock. Sampson is like a cloud floating around the building as he keeps watch over his herd geriatric small dogs. Sampson likes animals of all shapes and sizes, not sure that he has a mean bone in his body. This big boy likes to spend some time outside, but when he’s hot, the AC is where he truly wants to be. Sampson is house trained and loves people of all shapes and sizes. With the information shared above, adopter should note that we will not adopt to a home that intends to keep him outside. He has had that life, and it was not very kind to him.

Story
Meet Greta Garbo, our sweet 2 ½-year-old, 86.3-pound Great Pyrenees mix and the very definition of a gentle giant! Since she arrived, Greta has been calm, happy, and wonderfully easygoing. She’s a true people-lover who enjoys outdoor time and will happily give you a gentle “hug” while you pet her. Greta doesn’t seem fazed by much and takes life in stride. She came in with a limp that looks to be coming from her front elbow. We are not entirely sure if this is a previous break or if she was born this way. However, it doesn’t slow her down a bit, and she has not shown any signs of pain. She manages just fine now, but her joint may need a little extra care as she ages. If you’re looking for a loving, laid-back companion, Greta is ready to be your new best friend! We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@co.johnson.in.us for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!

Story
This is Dora, she’s a female around 3’5 years old. She isn’t fixed as the rescue told us to hold off for a bit when we adopted her (last year) but she has most of her vaccines and got treated for Lyme disease. We are looking to rehome her to a loving and caring home. Someone who has patience and time for her. She’s good with kids, cats and dogs. She has a very calm and gentle nature. She is a rescue dog and needs a lot of love, affection and , she’s quite sensitive but has so much love to give. She loves running, especially in the snow! It would be ideal she went to a home with a fence as we all know great Pyrenees like to bolt! She does always work her way home but we try to avoid that from happening

Please read entire description. Scout's adoption fee is $175.  Scout is a 1 year old Pyr/Border Collie / Cattle Dog mix. He is house trained and very friendly and sweet. His favorite toy is his Jolly Ball and his favorite treats are carrots. Scout is used to a fenced yard and is good with children. Scout has no experience with cats. He has lived with another dog since he was born, but he has started to pick on him which is ultimately the reason Scout must find a new home. He would likely be best as an only dog.  Scout HATES to be in crates, but does ok in a mudroom.  Scout is heartworm negative, utd on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.
