This is a very hard decision, and our priority is finding the right fit for her needs. She is gentle and affectionate with people, has grown up with four children and their friends, and has always done well in a busy family environment. She loves being outdoors and would thrive with space to enjoy fresh air and freedom. True to her breed, she is loyal, independent, and naturally protective. She can be selective with other dogs—she may do well with some, she has had incidents with a Yorkie and an older small mixed-breed dog, so this is an important consideration. On the other hand she has made friends with frenchies and mini golden doodles. She would do best in a home with large-dog experience, a fenced yard or rural setting. This gentle giant is still gaining confidence in her foster home and is slowly letting her silly, playful personality shine. One minute she’s making you laugh with her clumsy zoomies, and the next she’s leaning into you for the sweetest cuddles. Who can open their heart and home to Misty? Misty is an 8 yr old 68 lb great pyr/lab mix and through no fault of her own, the only family she has known since she was a puppy can no longer care for her. We need to find her a foster/foster to adopt home as soon as possible. Misty does great with cats and with other dogs. She is 8 so she would appreciate a dog who respects her space and would be content to just be there (vs one who wants to play all the time). Misty would love a nice yard or patio to lay around in when it is nice, and to be your couch or dog bed buddy when it is too cold and you just want to curl up and watch TV She is spayed, microchipped, and healthy!
