Story
Meet Zeus: A Loyal Guardian Seeking His Kingdom Zeus is a magnificent intact male Great Pyrenees born on February 20, 2024. His lineage traces back to a working poultry farm in Mississippi, and while he has been raised as a pet, his heritage is evident in his noble, protective nature. Zeus is currently in the Chicago, IL area. We are seeking an experienced owner who understands the guardian breed temperament and can provide the environment Zeus needs to thrive. The Ideal Career & Home: Zeus is naturally territorial and protective of his people. While he is an affectionate companion indoors, he would benefit greatly from having a "job" to do. He is best suited for: A Working Farm or Large Property: Where his natural guarding instincts can be utilized. A Guard Dog Role: Protecting livestock or a large, fenced territory. Experienced Handlers: Someone familiar with "big white dogs" who can manage his protective drive with confidence. Health & Status: Intact: Zeus is currently intact.

Story
**WE HAVE RECEIVED MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS FOR OBI AND ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING NEW ONES**Striking and gorgeous in appearance, gentle and tender in temperament, our wonderfully huggable and smoochable Obi seeks his forever family. Beautiful Obi is a young Great Pyrenees mix who made his way to Pal's Place from an overwhelmed and overcrowded animal control facility in KY. His age is estimated to be between 10 and 12 months old, and he weighs 65 pounds. He's still got some growing to do, and we estimate he'll reach an adult weight of 80-95 pounds when fully mature. He's a stunningly handsome, unique-looking dog, but his real beauty lies in his exceptional temperament. Kind, gentle, affectionate, mild-mannered, and easy-going, Obi makes friends with everyone he meets, including children, other dogs, and even kitties. He is playful without being hyper and loves frolicking in the snow as much as he loves cuddling on the couch. He does not seem to know any commands, but he is intelligent and eager to please, so teaching him the basics should be a breeze! Obi is crate trained and does well with his housetraining when kept on a regular schedule. He can be a bit bashful with new people and in new situations, but he warms up very quickly with some encouraging words and pats. Our charming Kentucky country boy is now in a wonderful and doting foster home in Chicago, learning all about being a city dog while he patiently waits to meet you! This guy is truly a gem of a pup and will make whoever is lucky enough to be his humans incredibly happy. • Obi is fostered in Chicago, and meetings can be scheduled by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. His adoption donation to the rescue is $375. This fee helps to cover his neuter, initial vaccines, microchip, and heartworm testing. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. We respond to inquiries, questions, and applications by email. We are a volunteer-run organization and strive to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours, though we may occasionally take longer. Correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are awaiting a reply, please check those folders regularly. Story
Bleu is new around here, but also not new at all. He joined us from our good friends in Texas in June and was adopted in July. When life threw a curveball, he found his way back to CRA. We’re disappointed it didn’t work out, but fully committed to finding him the right forever home this time. Bleu is a sensitive boy—like, actually. Change is hard for him and he needs time to process. He’s sweet as can be and never shows anything but love, but he does require patience, reassurance, and someone fully prepared to wipe the drool that comes from being an emotional little marshmallow. He’ll fall in love with you faster than you expect, but fair warning—the first few days may come with some sad eyes while he confirms he’s safe. After that? You’re his person. Our unofficial best guess is that he’s a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix. We’re not experts, but if that’s the case, he’s absolutely nailed both. At roughly 80 pounds, Bleu comes with a heavy head and zero personal space. A large couch (and a sense of humor) is highly recommended. We do think Bleu needs a fenced yard—yes, he really said, “Let’s make this complicated.” But we promised him we’d give him everything he needs (and maybe everything he wants… have you seen his face?). He’d love a dog friend, but it’s not mandatory—we’re trying to be realistic here. No other dog? No problem. He’d be happy with some semi-frequent playdates to keep life interesting and is totally fine having you all to himself. Bleu loves structure—set him up with a solid routine and some training, and he’ll be the best boy you ever met. Ignore it, and… well, he’ll still be cute. Bleu would like to live somewhere in or within Chicago (3 hours or less to be exact). If you are interested in being his forever apply directly. He is up to date on vaccines and preventatives, heart worm negative, neuter and microchipped.

Story
Nellie is loyal, gentle (especially for her size), and affectionate. She is good with dogs and humans, although is nervous at first and takes some time to warm up and build trust. Nellie is about 6 months old and currently 50 lbs and likely still growing. She is a livestock guardian dog which means that ideally she will have space and an owner who has time to train her and is dedicated to giving her enough exercise and mental stimulation. She is being house trained and still learning but does go on pads inside and poops outside. We are working on crate training and making quick progress but not fully crate trained. She is vaccinated for Rabies, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, and DHPP. We are looking for someone who has experience with LGDs and is able to dedicate time an resources to giving her the home she needs and deserves.
