Story

We adopted Astrid at 10 weeks old from a rescue. She is now 1 yr and 2 months old. She's a lively and loving dog. She knows a lot of commands, completed puppy training, and sleeps in a crate at night. Her ideal new home would include another dog to play with or a spacious yard for her to run around. With our schedule and small living space, we can't get another dog or give her the attention she needs. She hasn't interacted much with kids and gets nervous around them but could warm up to them with time. We have 2 cats she gets along with and tries to play with sometimes. Astrid loves people and shows her affection through physical touch. She loves leaning on people or laying on or next to them on the couch or in bed. We want her to have the best life with a doggy companion or an active family who will love her as much as she'll love them.

Story

Meet Nellie Nellie, a Great Pyrenees, joined BAARK when her owner was no longer able to care for himself, much less her. As such, she was in pretty rough physical condition when she was surrendered, but clearly had received plenty of attention and love. Nellie is estimated to be 7-8 years old and weighs about 80 lbs. When meeting new people, Nellie is a little shy at first. We believe that this is because she had very little exposure to new people when with her previous owner. However, in her foster home, with patience and, in following the lead of her new canine friends, Nellie has really blossomed. She now gives kisses and lots of tail wags when her foster mom and dad get home from work. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and would probably do well with a cat as well based on her calm demeanor. In typical Great Pyr fashion, she loves patrolling the fence line and she is especially in tune to large birds flying overhead. Her foster family appreciates her level of alert, as Nellie watches over her much smaller foster brother and sisters in the home. Nellie is housebroken and is just fine being un-crated at home by herself. Nellie joined our rescue organization back in June. She is just becoming available for adoption as she has a long recovery from a mass removal on her paw pad (benign). She has 3 toes on that paw but gets around just fine. Nellie is in overall great health. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative. It`s me, Dazzle (I know the name Max) and I am here to tell you about myself! I am a charming companion looking for my forever home! I am the perfect blend of playful energy and calm demeanor. I am pure beauty and have a luscious soft coat (if you can`t tell by my photos). One of my standout qualities is my excellent leash manners! Some dogs may set me off, but I am redirected easily as I am extremely food motivated. And don’t worry, you will get a few private training sessions with me to learn my walking ways! Other than that, taking a leisurely stroll with me is a joy and a testament to my intelligence and eagerness to please! I am also fully potty trained and will be sure to finish all my business outside. I am a social dog who loves human interaction after a proper introduction. I am a little shy at first so give me time and once comfortable, I will love all your pets! My ideal home would be one where I can receive undivided attention and love from humans and be the only dog in the house. I would do well in a home with older children, no young kiddos for me! However, with proper introduction and supervision, I can enjoy playdates with other dogs. Once I open up, I am a total goof! I LOVE playing with pumpkin slices my foster mom gives me, and I have a weird fetish of playing with bugs! But it just completes my silly self! Hi, I`m sweet May and am looking for my forever home. I`ve spent my whole life in the shelter but I`m so happy to be in a foster home now! I`m still learning my house manners, but my foster mom says I`m doing great! I`m a good listener and am eager to please. I walk nicely on the leash, with very little pulling.
