FAST FACTS:*3 Years Old, 45 Pounds*Sweet, Loving, Playful, Gentle*Medium Energy*People Friendly (older kids best)*Dog Friendly*Cat Friendly*Potty Training *Crate Trained*Training RequiredBIO:Greetings from Rowena. I came from a horrendous puppy mill; a total of 60 dogs were found in the facility and saved by Animal Rescue Corps. All of us were kept chained, given only enough food and water to survive, and barely had contact with humans. I'm now living in an FTF foster home, savoring my freedom, and dreaming of my forever home. I know that taking a chance on a pup who, up until now, has only experienced cruelty is a big ask. But as the volunteers here quickly realized, my previous abusive environment has not defined me. I'm making friends with everyone I encounter - 2-legged and 4-legged alike. And I know that with your love and understanding, I'll soon be able to put my past behind me and become the wonderful canine companion I was always meant to be.A few facts about me. I've discovered the joys of hanging out with other dogs. So if there's another canine in your household to be my buddy and mentor, that would be terrific. I also enjoy having my own patch of grass to explore, so my ideal home will include a fenced yard. As you can see from my photo, I'm on the thin side and need to gain some weight. That won't be hard though, because the first time I was given a treat, my mouth exploded in happiness, and I couldn't wait for another. My food motivation not only will help me fill out but will also make training me easy peasy. Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes, and I really think the class setting will help me gain more confidence and build our bond together. Speaking of training, I am mostly potty trained; I sometimes need to be reminded it is time to go outside to do my business, but I can hold it for long lengths of time now and overnight. And I'm happy to report that I go in my crate without fuss and quietly settle in, I consider it my safe space and often go in on my own without coaxing.I am a girl with a lot of love to give the special, patient humans who give me a chance to keep blossoming and learning what it really means to be a beloved companion. If that sounds like you, I hope you fill out an adoption application soon!Love and licks,RowenaIf you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.

Story
It's me, Dazzle (I know the name Max) and I am here to tell you about myself! I am a charming companion looking for my forever home! I am the perfect blend of playful energy and calm demeanor. I am pure beauty and have a luscious soft coat (if you can't tell by my photos). One of my standout qualities is my excellent leash manners! Some dogs may set me off, but I am redirected easily as I am extremely food motivated. And don't worry, you will get a few private training sessions with me to learn my walking ways!  Other than that, taking a leisurely stroll with me is a joy and a testament to my intelligence and eagerness to please! I am also fully potty trained and will be sure to finish all my business outside.  I am a social dog who loves human interaction after a proper introduction. I am a little shy at first so give me time and once comfortable, I will love all your pets! My ideal home would be one where I can receive undivided attention and love from humans and be the only dog in the house. I would do well in a home with older children, no young kiddos for me! However, with proper introduction and supervision, I can enjoy playdates with other dogs. Once I open up, I am a total goof! I LOVE playing with pumpkin slices my foster mom gives me, and I have a weird fetish of playing with bugs! But it just completes my silly self! I can assure you I am the loyal and affectionate family member missing from your life! Please consider giving me my forever home! Adoption fee is $320Almost Home Foundation's adoption requirements:Be at least 21 years of age;Have the consent of all adults living in the household;Have approval from the residence owner;Have valid ID with current address;Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home;Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg(Illinois Residents Only)

Hi, I'm sweet May and am looking for my forever home. I've spent my whole life in the shelter but I'm so happy to be in a foster home now! I'm still learning my house manners, but my foster mom says I'm doing great! I'm a good listener and am eager to please. I walk nicely on the leash, with very little pulling. I am crate trained and potty trained. I enjoy meeting new friends, both the human and canine kind. My favorite things are long walks, bones, snuggly pets, and new sniffs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.* Welcome Chance to HWMAR!  She is a 6 month old, 32lb, spayed Great Pyrenees Mix who, just like her name says, is looking for her chance at a loving forever home.  Chance was a local girl, who was surrendered due to the owners not being able to care for her properly.  Chance has a facial deformity, but she does not even realize it and is a typical  puppy.   (Approved adopters will speak with a member of our medical team prior to meeting to better understand her condition).   Chance is a good girl with typical big puppy energy. She loves playing with her canine foster siblings.  She would do best in a home with another confident dog, since she has gained so much confidence with her current siblings.  Her foster parents describe her as friendly, energetic, affectionate and a quick learner.  Chance has not been exposed to cats and children should be of the larger, sturdy variety, as Chance is still learning that she cannot jump on people to greet them.    Chance is housebroken and crate trained (She does sleep and eat in it), however she has earned free roam of her foster home when her parents are out of the house, and she has been very good and not done anything she is not supposed to. She enjoys car rides, and is learning how to properly walk on leash. She currently sleeps and eats in her crate.  Chance also likes to make sure you spend as much time at home as possible, by gently relocating your shoes to a different location, making it impossible for you to leave. She knows that shoes are expensive and not to be destroyed, but who doesn’t enjoy a little game of “Where is my other shoe?”. Chance’s list of must have for her forever home are as follows:  Love. A 6ft fenced in yard, or electric fence.  True to her breed, she can jump high and escape quickly. Love.  A fur sibling to continue to improve her confidence. Love.  A diet of wet/soft foods while she is still growing.  Love. An experienced adopter who will continue / expand on training with her.  Love.  Chance’s adoption fee is $400 and includes her age appropriate vaccinations and microchip *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. While we aim to be as accurate as possible, each animal is individual and their behaviors and personalities can change in different surroundings.  HWMAR holds no guarantees to personality, behavior or breed*   Please review our adoption process & complete an application on our website -  www.hoofwoofmeow.org/adoption   We adopt within 150 mile radius of Elgin, IL **We are a 100% volunteer rescue.  All of our dogs are in Foster Homes**Submission of an application does not guarantee adoption of any specific animal as they may have applications pending or might not be the right match for you** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 11:17 pm

Story
Hello! My name is Sissy! I am an 11 month old, 75 pound, Great Pyrenees and I am loving life in my new foster home. I'm making new friends, including some doggos that live on the other side of the fence and some older kids and adults. I'm very curious about all new friends! I'm working on my basic training and proving to be a smart girl. I've already figured potty training out, and I'm working on 'down' and 'come.' I walk pretty well on a leash, too! I'm not a huge fan of th crate, but I tolerate it begrudgingly. I think I'd be fine without it! I LOVE to be outside and run around the yard exploring. I also love to lay in the shade and lounge. Outside time is the best! Human attention is my other favorite. Any ear scratches and couch cuddles are always welcome in my book. I enjoy snacks/chewies/rawhides, and I'm ready to terrorize all the soft toys you give me :) I am an adaptable lady and will do well in most any home. I just ask for regular exercise and mental stimulation! If you are looking for a smart, sweet, gentle and social dog, we might be a great match. I'd love to meet you, especially if you bring belly rubs to the equation! Let's see if we are a match, what do ya say? My adoption fee is: $800, this includes the cost of gastropexy
