Honey is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees with a heart of gold and eyes that look into your soul. She had a rough life before she found a soft landing with Dirt Road Doggies. She was used a breeding dog and then dumped and left to starve. In typical Great Pyrenees fashion, she is protective of her area so we suggest she be an only dog. She may improve with training as we think she was left to defend her puppies in the past. She's a laid back girl and would love a fenced in back yard where she could hang and watch the squirrels all day! ##1811730##

Rex is potty trained and has completed obedience training with a licensed trainer. His father is a purebred Great Pyrenees and his mother is a purebred Kangal (a shepherd is the closest option available in the dropdown menu). Both parents are over 100 pounds so it is expected that he will be also once he is fully grown. He is sweet, calm, and a loyal companion. He will be a perfect dog for adults and he likes to play with other dogs. We desperately wanted Rex to be our forever dog but he is growing increasingly territorial and growls and lunges at our own kids if they invade his space. But, he is gentle to strangers and older children. He just prefers less intrusions to his space that we cannot give b/c of our 3 young kids. He is perfect with adults & older kids. Our hope is that Rex can go to a new environment that fits his needs better than our home. Rex loves to cuddle and will make a wonderful companion.

6 puppies. We are still unsure about there gender as they are still young but we think they’re girls. We are not adopting them out right away as they still need their mother. The mother is half Great Pyrenees and the father is a pure bread Great Pyrenees. We want to wait at least 3 months before we adopt them out. They are very friendly and caring dogs. Very easy to train and great around kids and other animals. These dogs are meant to be protecters and sometimes they will try to heard you as they are meant to be around sheeps and livestock. They are very silly dogs.

He is a super sweet boy around the age of 1 year old. He is Great Pyrenees and completely white in color. He loves loves to walk, play with other dogs and good with kids. Unknown on the cat part and doesn’t seem to have a prey instinct at all. He would need to be in a home with a fenced in yard and he isn’t fond of a dog crate at all. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Meet Beary Tree Beary Tree is a stunning, 3 year old, Great Pyrenees mix. He weighs about 65 pounds. He has a medium energy level, is house trained, and working on crate training, but does well out in the house when left alone. This guy is Mr. Charisma. He loves everyone and everyone loves him. He loves car rides and walks. Hikes are a big hit with Beary Tree too, but he can be barky when approaching other dogs. He is working on this and is making progress. His fluffy coat is silky soft and invites many pets which works for him since he feels that there are never enough of those. He loves hanging out in the yard, so a fenced yard is a good idea for this guy. Beary is a very intelligent dog who enjoys having something to do whether it is working on training, hiking, walking or whatever activity you love, he is up for it. On the flip side, he is also a big fan of daytime naps and just hanging out. Beary will do best in a home where he is your one and only four legged family member. This sweet boy is a joy and loves his people. He is going to be a great addition to a lucky home. If you're searching for a big, fluffy companion, look no further! I expect a lot of pets from my humans. In fact, I'll conveniently place my head beneath your hand to make it even easier for you. Are you watching a movie on the couch? Move over and I'll give you all the affection you need. I would love a fenced in yard to run around because when I'm not cuddling, I have energy! So, an apartment home is not a good fit for me. I'm also perfectly potty trained and crate trained and I do really well in the car. The one thing I cannot deal with is...cats. Even though I'm a big boy, cats are my Kryptonite. Sometimes I don't get along with small dogs, either. (I have lived with a dog sibling before and we were best buds.) But I need a cat-free and tiny-dog-free home please. Also on my wishlist: a family that enjoys teaching me new tricks because I love training and using my smarts!
