What he lacks in small-ness he makes up for in the puppy playfulness. He’s crate-trained, good on a leash with harness, and mostly house-trained (so close!). His foster home includes both cats and dogs and he prefers his kitty friends. Gus is a handsome 1 year old Anatolian shepherd mix who came to the shelter with his brother Grizzly after their owners had to surrender them. They were raised on a farm and spent their lives guarding livestock. Their owners new fiancé was found to be allergic to the dogs so they had to be surrendered. They did not live inside at any point but are young and quick to learn! They both know sit and walk well on a leash. It is noted that they should not be in a home with cats. These boys do not have to be adopted together, but they both desperately deserve a loving forever home! You can meet Gus in kennel 79, his ID is 6141. He is up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, and will be microchipped & neutered upon adoption. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.
