Story
best with cats or low-key female dogs “Meet Jaxon! This 3 year old,  Great Pyrenees mix, is large, in charge, and ready to rule your roost/couch! Jaxon can organize a toy mess in under 30 seconds and he can return a ball to you even faster. His favorite activities are making sure his people and home are safe, picking up litter on walks so you can discard it (cares about his environment!), and babysitting tennis balls. What he lacks in small-ness he makes up for in the puppy playfulness. He’s crate-trained, good on a leash with harness, and mostly house-trained (so close!). His foster home includes both cats and dogs and he prefers his kitty friends. Interested adopters should expect a couple rounds of dog-testing with any existing dogs (low energy females preferred) and some warm-up time with men.” Age: 3 years old approx  Weight: approx 65 lbs  Temperament: Gets along with adults, kids, dogs  Training: house trained.  Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative  For questions about Jaxon, please email.  chelseacna@gmail.com   &#226&#128&#139To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself November 6, 2024, 12:45 pm

Story
Home for the Holidays - Reduced Adoption Fees if Adopted by January 10th!  Hello, future best friend! My name is Joey Nicholas and I cannot wait to give you all the hugs you can handle. I'm a gorgeous Great Pyr/Aussie mix who loves people. If you're searching for a big, fluffy companion, look no further!    I expect a lot of pets from my humans. In fact, I'll conveniently place my head beneath your hand to make it even easier for you. Are you watching a movie on the couch? Move over and I'll give you all the affection you need.    I would love a fenced in yard to run around because when I'm not cuddling, I have energy! So, an apartment home is not a good fit for me. I'm also perfectly potty trained and crate trained and I do really well in the car.    The one thing I cannot deal with is...cats. Even though I'm a big boy, cats are my Kryptonite. Sometimes I don't get along with small dogs, either. (I have lived with a dog sibling before and we were best buds.) But I need a cat-free and tiny-dog-free home please.   Also on my wishlist: a family that enjoys teaching me new tricks because I love training and using my smarts!    Basically, I'm the biggest sweetheart. But don't take my word for it, here's what my best human friends have to say about me: "he's a big love bug and incredibly intelligent." Joey Nicholas is an amazing boy who loves everyone." My foster mom says I'm the most loving and affectionate dog she's ever met and she's so impressed with me.    My new family is in for a treat! An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.          December 13, 2024, 8:04 am

Story
Meet Jemma: A sweet girl who came to us after being hit by a car and left for dead. A good samaritan found her and reached out for help. Jemma had a broken leg and her body was not accepting the healing of her leg so we had to removed her front leg. Do not let that discourage you from taking a look at her. Jemma gets around just as well as a 4 legged dog. She is great with other dogs, kids and cats! November 17, 2024, 7:49 pm

Story
This gentle giant is Valravn! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy with ID on 12/9, and no one has come to reclaim him. We're not sure why his people never came for him. For being such a big dog, Valravn is so good on leash. One of the volunteers described him as the most gentle dog they have ever walked...that's saying a lot since they've walked hundreds! We're unsure if he knows basic commands since he was a bit overwhelmed and distracted during his photoshoot. If you have room in your home and heart for this big boy, please come meet him today! He'd sure love to find his new, forever home in time for the holidays! Valravn is an adult dog, and he weighs 93 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he will be neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Valravn is waiting patiently in run 883; his ID # is 6815. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
