Life has thrown her a curveball, and she’s searching for a new family to call her own after losing her beloved elderly owner and another caregiver unable to care for her due to moving to assisted living. This beautiful girl deserves to find a warm, loving home in time for the holidays—could it be yours? Abbie’s superpower is love. She adores nothing more than cuddling up with her people, resting her head in your lap, and soaking up affection. Talk to her in sweet baby talk, and she’ll reward you with endless devotion. She loves playing with her stuffed animals, running around the yard, going for walks (she’s amazing on a leash!), and being the center of her family’s world. Abbie is also fully housebroken—she has impeccable manners in the home. Like any special soul, Abbie has her quirks. She’s protective of her food around other dogs, so she’ll need a family that understands how to manage mealtimes. She doesn’t care for crates (who needs them when you’re this perfect?) and can get anxious when left alone, but she thrives when she feels safe and loved. She prefers to sleep close to her people at night, either in her own cozy bed nearby or curled up close to her family. Abbie is a loyal, affectionate protector who will always have your back. While she’s wary of strangers at first, it’s her way of making sure her loved ones are safe. With gentle guidance, she’ll quickly show her sweet, loving side. Abbie is looking for a family that will cherish her and include her in their daily lives. In return, she promises endless love, devotion, and companionship. Could you be the home she’s been waiting for? Give Abbie the holiday miracle she deserves—open your heart and home to this beautiful, gentle giant. If you’d like to meet Abbie, please reach out today. Let’s make her dream of a forever family come true! Abbie's adoption fee is $400 - obedience training is required after adoption and fully enclosed front or backyard is also required. Story
MAXX & ME PET RESCUE adoptable dogs Stella is approximately 7 months old Great Pyrenees Mix who sadly has been rehomed and tossed about leading to her being timid by nature.  She seeks comfort in kind people and understanding, welcoming animals.  She has been fostered with another Great Pyr and cats and does great with the kitties.       Stella just underwent expensive double FHO surgery on her rear legs 7/15/22. She requires a home with NO STAIRS, someone home a lot, pool (she must do pool therapy 2 xs a day) per our vet for the next month or two. Since she was on kennel rest at our vet's office for several weeks, she has lost muscle mass and we must do physical therapy to help her rebuild it and get her back legs strong again. She is a very, very timid dog and a flight risk. She needs a foster to adopt family to continue her journey in building trust. She is very gentle and sweet, just a scared, beautiful pup!     She needs a foster to adopt family to continue her journey in building trust.    **Understanding and calm ADULT ONLY household **Fully and securely fenced yard  **Calm dog to help build confidence **cats optional, but she does have an affection for them! **Plan to work with trainer       Stella is UTD on vaccines, Spayed and microchipped. Adoption Donation is $350     Applications for Stella can be submitted at maxxandme.org. Please consider if your home and yard are of a sufficient size for a dog of this magnitude and breed. We certainly will when making decisions on her placement.       **Please follow up with an email to maxxandmerescue@gmail.com to verify receipt of application. **     Maxx and Me is an all volunteer, all foster home rescue and does not have a shelter. Please allow at least 48 hours for applications to be processed (missing information may slow the process, so please take your time and be thoughtful in your answers). We place dogs based on best home for each dog and not in order of applications received. Email us at maxxandmerescue@gmail.com for updates and questions. Thank you for choosing rescue.  November 3, 2024, 8:21 pm

Story
Great Pyrenees dogs (even those who are only 62% GP) don't get more beautiful than Zoey. She immediately captured the heart of our West Bradenton caretaker, who would be adopting her if she didn't already have a number of personal dogs. Zoey is about 3 years old. We weren't told much else about her when she was surrendered, but we've concluded that she's deaf. So she can be timid and fearful until she becomes familiar with her environment and the people and animals in it. If she isn't pressured, she eventually becomes more trusting. Our adoption process involves a foster period to make certain the family and the dog are a good "fit," and this will be critical for Zoey. Zoey gets along with our other dogs, and she lived with cats before we acquired her, but she's also content to be alone. We're looking for a patient adopter who can develop a close bond with Zoey, take special steps to communicate effectively with her, and keep her comfortable and safe for the rest of her life. If you're interested in Zoey, please contact us and we''ll get back to you within a day. Since our adoption process involves a foster period (as indicated above) and home visits, we're looking for a family in the Bradenton/Sarasota (Florida) area.
