Story
Dante came to us from Seminole county animal services. He was found laying on the side of the road with a fractured pelvis and femur. While letting his pelvis heal he also underwent surgery to repair his femur. While successful he still doesn't have use of that rear leg. He doesn't let it hinder him though as he gets around just fine. He loves other animals and definitely loves to be the center of attention. This big ole teddy bear would do better in a home with older children because of his size.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application Onyx and his sisters were rescued from a bad situation with a backyard breeder.  He came back to rescue as a big boy 80lbs that wasnt socialized as a puppy. His name is now Teddy and this is what he has to say: 'Hi, my name is Teddy and I'm a Certified Good Boy! I'm sort of a mixed breed and everyone's best guess is Great Pyrenees, Black Lab, and a Golden Retriever. I'm tall and skinny; when I stand up I can give you a hug with my paws on your shoulders - but don't worry, I'm well trained not to jump. I've also been trained to loose leash walk, heel, sit, give my paw, lay down, touch your hand with my nose, and a bunch of other stuff. I'm really food motivated and smart so I'm pretty easy to train. I spent the hurricane at a new persons house and I never took anything off the counter tops, or out of the panty, I didn't eat from the trash, I didn't even eat the cat food (but I really wanted to). I even went potty outside in the rain (I'm not scared) and went for walks in the rain. I played tug with the new people and keep the ball away (I haven't learned fetch yet but I bet I could). I like my crate and don't bark much. I chew on my toys and haven't touched anyone's  'Hi, my name is Teddy and I'm a Certified Good Boy! I like my crate and don't bark much. I chew on my toys and haven't touched anyone's shoes...yet.   I love almost every person I've ever met, but sometimes I'm a little shy and bark - if they give me a treat tho I'll be their best friend forever. I'm good with other dogs when we play alone and even in groups but I really don't like unfixed male dogs (I'll bark at them on walks and I don’t play nicely with them). Oh, and I also like cats. I'm just over a year old and still act a bit like a puppy, so I run really fast up to kitties. They don't like that. But I never hurt them; I just want to sniff. Once we all settle in the cats and I are good friends.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 1, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
This is my son’s dog. He purchased her about 15 months ago as a puppy. She is amazing with their 4 children, as well as people in general. Of course being a great Pyrenees, she is protective of her family, but appropriately so. My son and his wife and their four children had to move in with me a few weeks ago and I dont have the space or time to work with her. She tends to be a bit food guarding with my great Dane mix. Other than that, she’s beautiful and sweet and would make a great pet for somebody with a lot of property or even a fenced in yard.
