Story
Hi, my name is Stella but I go by Stellie-Bellie. I am guessed to be a 3 yr old Great Pyrenees, around 71 lbs, and here in Colorado searching for my furever family, all the way from Texas. When I first arrived here I was not feeling my best. But after some TLC, antibiotics, and anti-itch medicine I am good as new! I do have some weakness and instability in my hind legs but that doesn't stop me from getting the zoomies before bedtime! Plus the vet said my x-rays look good! True to her breed, Stella enjoys sunbathing in the yard and being stubborn when being called in. Despite her stubborn nature, Stella is eager to please and responds well to praise. She enjoys dividing her time between laying in the sun, protecting the yard and snuggled up at her humans feet. Stella gets along well with other dogs with slow introduction but would do best in a home with a submissive, low energy dog or as an only pet. We are still working on potty training and counter surfing, but with gentle correction, she is making good progress. Stella continues to have weakness in her hind legs but they do not seem to be in pain and doesn't stop her from enjoying running and playing. Her hip x-ray did not show any signs of problems. She had bad allergies and skin infections upon first arrival, but with a beef diet and allergy medicine, this issue is nearly completely resolved. Though needing a little extra love, Stella is such a sweetie and everyone that has met her has instantly fallen in love. If you have room in your heart and home, apply to meet miss Stellie.

Story
Meet Antonio, a handsome and gentle male Great Pyrenees. This guy is around 2 years old and has captured the hearts of volunteers with his docile, shy personality. He has been in resource for the last year already! His two brothers were already adopted but he has been so timid that most potential adopters pass him over. *Update as of 1/24/25: He has been with a foster in Denver for one month. He has shown that he would be most comfortable with a confident dog in the home. He loves small dogs! He gets a little nervous with city noises and he can be very timid when going outside. A quiet home with a yard and easy access to outside are critical. He is currently very difficult to walk on a leash as he darts and freezes due to his fears. He has shown that he likes being around the 10 year old human child in the house. He is fine with cats. He loves to have his face rubbed and enjoys treats. He needs a home with patience and love. Please apply if you have questions and we can connect. Let us know if you want to schedule an initial meet.

Willie is such a good boy but living in the city in a small back yard with someone who works all day isn't good for him. He needs space and love. He doesn't do well (jumps or destroys) a fence in a small yard. Needs love

Story
We adopted Kingsley from the local shelter in 2021. He was found roaming the streets and no one claimed him. The shelter described him as a 2 yo Newfoundland, but after having Widsom Panel DNA testing ran, turns out he was 100% Great Pyrenees and was approximately 6 mo at the time. This was confirmed by our vet. Unfortunately, we no longer have the time to devote to Kingsley that he deserves. He is great with other dogs/cats/children. He goes to doggie daycare once a week for playtime and is good with dogs of any size. We have a 2 yo son and he is gentle with him as well. Kingsley is neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on all his shots, and is groomed regularly. He does well with free feeding, and eats Science Diet Large Breed. His last checkup was in November, and he weighed 81 lbs. We will provide bed, toys, bowls/stand, and any remaining flea/tick and heartworm meds. Note: He will run away if not on a leash, but feel that with proper training he will stop.

Story
Meet Gryffin! He is 3 years old and 100 lbs. "Gryff" is an adorable boy. He's a big couch potato and loves snuggles. Although he can sometimes be a little anxious, he is very loyal and loving. Tearing up toys and chasing his tail are his favorites. He's done well with kids, but he takes a little bit of warming up to anyone. He would also be great with other dogs, but it would have to be a slow transition. He would love a big backyard to protect and run the fence line. He would make either a family or an active person very happy!December 9, 2024, 3:11 pm

Story
River is here and he’s ready to find a home! River is a 9-10 month old, male, Pyrenees mix. He’s around 75 lbs and has some filling out to do. River is dog friendly and enjoys the company of a dog savvy cat. He loves a game of chase, that’s why we say dog savvy cats only. River is very much a puppy and he can make anything a game. Fun and human contact are what he seeks. He’s also very food motivated which makes learning a breeze. We’d like his forever home to have a fenced in yard and his humans should have plenty of time to play. River is being fostered in Lakewood, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/river/. Story
Haze is an amazing boy! He is very smart, sweet, and loving. He likes cuddling, playing with our other dogs, and is good at listening! He is inquisitive (like tilting his head or really looking in your eyes when you are talking to him). His pictures do not truly capture how cute he really is! He is playful but not a spaz. He has a calm personality. He loves playing in the snow and likes napping on a warm blanket. The only issue we have found is that he can climb, but a 6' fence would easily keep in him the yard. More important, is that when he climbs over our 3 foot kitchen gate, it is only so he can hang out with us, not to get out just to get out (hopefully that makes sense!) He will be a wonderful addition to a family!
