Story
It's hard not to fall in love with Snowberry (affectionately called Mama)! She is a sweet 5 year old mix of Great Pyrenees, German Shepherd and Chow (DNA results) who is slowly but enthusiastically coming out of her shell after having 5 puppies. Her puppies are all adopted now, and she is looking for her forever home. If you have room for a respectful, trained and loving big dog in your home, this dog is a keeper. She is back to her normal weight and is feeling safe in the world again. She loves playing with her big dog foster brother, but honestly would love to just sleep and cuddle the days away. She keeps track of the fence line, but not aggressively. She loves to nap in the sun, and nap in bed, and nap on the couch, and also nap on the rug in front of the fire. She is smart, won't disrespect boundaries, and hasn't got a mean bone in her body. She is definitely trained and has enjoyed a loving home in her previous life. She has not been tested with cats or babies, and she is probably not in the mood for more puppies at this point, but she will adapt to most any home with all the right loving kindness.

Story
Meet Snow 🤍 Snow is a beautiful Pyrenees mix, estimated to be around 1–3 years old, currently being fostered in Fort Collins. She weighs about 80 lbs and is still filling out after arriving in Colorado very underweight with her sister. She has come such a long way and is truly blossoming. Snow is shy at first, but once she feels safe, she absolutely loves affection. She has the softest eyes and the sweetest soul. Every day she grows more confident and is learning how good it feels to be loved. She loves other dogs and would likely thrive with a confident canine buddy, though it’s not required. She is kennel trained, doggy door trained, naps and sleeps through the night in her kennel. She feels very safe in her kennel so the foster mom would want an adopter that is willing to continue to let her kennel. She is food motivated, which makes building trust with her much easier. Leash walking still makes her nervous, though she does well walking on leash around the fosters 7-acre property. Because of this, she needs a quiet home with a fenced yard (preferably a 6-foot fence). She would likely do well with older, calm children and possibly cats with slow introductions. Snow is being fostered with a professional trainer who specializes in helping shy dogs build confidence. A free training session will be provided to her adopter to help ensure a smooth transition and continued progress. She has already come so far — now she just needs a patient, loving home to call her own 🤍 Please reach out if you’re interested in giving Snow the safe, peaceful life she deserves

Story
Rain is a beautiful Pyrenees mix and is believed to be approximately 1-3 years old. She is very shy at first but loves affection once she feels safe with you, she is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart! She weighs approximately 80 lbs and still needs to put on a few more pounds to be at a healthy weight. Rain came to Colorado with her sister Snow, they were both very underweight. They are thriving at their foster mom's house and are putting on weight and getting healthy and strong and are ready to be loved! We don't know much about her history but we can tell she was never socialized. Every day she gets more confident and would love to have a home of her own and someone to love her unconditionally and continue to teach her how good it is to be loved! Rain loves to play with other dogs so she will probably do best with a confident canine buddy in her future home but is not completely necessary if an adopter has lots of love to share with her. Rain loves her kennel and feels very safe in it. She sleeps through the night and naps in it during the day. She also loves food so it is easy to work with her to gain her trust. This beautiful girl is waiting patiently to find her FurEver Family and is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates shy or unsocialized dogs. Her foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these precious dogs and is working with all the dogs in her care on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, leash and car training. Probably the thing Rain will need the most patience with is learning to walk on a leash. Currently it scares her but her foster mom is trying to help her with that. Since leash walking makes her nervous she will need a home with a fenced yard. There are lots of other dogs at her foster mom's house so we know she is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. We also think she would be fine with older / calm children. Please consider this adorable dog as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who is willing to do a minimum of one paid (discounted) training session with her. This training session is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training is to teach the adopter how to help the dog be successful in their new home and will help the family and this sweet dog bond and adjust to their new life together. The foster provides a discount on training to her adopters. Please apply for Rain today!!

Story
Sam will immediately win you over with his beautiful smile! This happy boy is guessed to be an approximately 4 year old Great Pyrenees. He has a happy go lucky personality with people and is good with female dogs smaller than him, but gets a lot of bravado with larger males - so we would like to see him with a family of females only/smaller than him. He loves to be with his people, roams freely around the house and yard, but will jump a fence if he’s alone and bored and wants to wander. He is house trained and will not ever potty in his kennel at the shelter so we think this boy has been in an home with land before! Apply for Sam today and come visit him at our Wellington location!

Story
Hey there! Miss girl showed up on our doorstep with an injured paw and we took her in! At the time we had almost 2 acres and she was thriving but we’ve since relocated to Colorado with a tiny yard and I know she needs room to roam. She’s great with kids, other dogs, and my two cats! She’s protective of the property and great guard dog!
