As much as I love her, I need to rehome my baby girl, Josie. My work schedule has changed so that I’m working 12+hrs weekdays & traveling every weekend. She deserves to be in a home that has more time & space for her. She is territorial of her home & protective of me on our walks. I have spent thousands of dollars & countless hours on training. While she has improved greatly, she will definitely need additional training. I’ve never had her off leash around other dogs so am unsure how she would do but has shown some same sex aggression. She does great with my cats & reptiles other than getting a too rough from too much pent up energy. She seems to do better with women & kids. I’m am willing to drive her to where she will have the best life. She will definitely need a large, fenced yard to run around. She is on flea prevention & recently had full blood work that all came back good. She will come with all her belongings including her crate (that she rarely uses anymore).

Story

Soltan is a sweet 3 year old purebred Great Pyrenees. He was originally purchased from a breeder when he was 8 weeks old. At 3 years old the woman who had him decided he was too big and didn't like that he sheds so she gave up on him. We think he is a perfect gentleman and deserves everything good. He is now in a wonderful foster home and thriving. He is waiting for his forever home. Soltan walks well on a leash and sits and gives his paw when asked. He loves being with people and is a real couch potato. He was with small dogs in his previous home. He enjoys car rides and treats. Because of his size we are saying yes to kids 10 years and older unless you are an experienced great pyrenees dog parent and know the breed. Soltan is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Snowy was brought to Montecito from L.A.; no chip or I.D. (no Lost And Found results). Then the bringers couldn't keep her. We took her at an adoption event's area at Petco Santa Barbara Aug. 25. She was very gentle, mellow, and kids were playing all over her. We took her to foster her but have procrastinated. Born about Jan. 1, say the vets. Spayed Sept. 17, shots Sept.17 & 27. Loves cuddles, kisses, long runs and walks, the beach but doesn't go into the water, chew toys, shoes... Santa Barbara's "Follow the Leader" Company did some crating and commands work with her and said she is very willing, smart, sweet and eager to obey and learn. She crates for quite a while and we're working on upping that time; comes fairly well; sits; is not a barker; loves her big yard, would really love a canine companion or family with kids. BUT: We are 80 and she is about sixty pounds and... puppy. It's not wise for us to do anything but find her a Forever Home. She's spectacular.

The goodest of boys! This is Cannoli... a wonderful family dog. He would do great with an active family. He is a little bit clumsy, so probably no wee ones. He is a dream on a leash, crate trained, very respectful when out and about. Loves cuddles and other dogs. He goes to the dog park and has a blast. He is a couple years old and weighs 76 pounds. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. PROPER INTRODUCTION WOULD BE NEEDED TO EVALUATE IF HE'S GOING TO GET ALONG WITH AN EXISTING DOG IN A HOME BUT BECAUSE OF HIS SIZE AND STRENGTH, WE BELIEVE HE WOULD BE A GOOD MATCH FOR A DOG HIS SIZE. APPLICANTS MUST LIVE IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES IN AN ADULT-ONLY HOME (NO APARTMENTS) WITH A PRIVATE YARD. RODEO is the definition of a Rhinestone Cowboy! Not only does he have stunning good looks, but his DNA results prove that he is quite a unique gem of Great Pyrenees/Aussie/Border Collie. Our rescue has been working with a certified professional dog trainer to help us get to know Rodeo and set him up for success. Rodeo is an incredible dog that would do best with an adopter that has experience with the large working breeds and structure in the home. He would not be a good dog for a first-time dog owner. Mostly comprised of Great Pyrenees, he has the potential to be protective of his family. He doesn’t know his own strength and size at times, so we have been working on him staying calm and focusing on his handler. Because of Rodeo’s grand stature, he would require a home with a yard (NOT AN APARTMENT) and no small children that he could inadvertently knock over or small pets. Rodeo estimated date of birth is January, 2019. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and whoever is lucky enough to adopt this rooty tooty cowboy will get an in-home dog training lesson as part of his adoption.
