Story
Bonny is an Alabai (Alabay) or often referred to as Central Asian Shepherd. The Central Asian Shepherd Dog is self-assured, balanced, quiet, proud and independent. They are very courageous and have a high working capacity, endurance and a natural instinct of territory. This breed is known for its fearlessness towards large predators. Central Asian Shepherd Dogs are a natural protective breed that require a non-stop observance for the life of the dog. They are not for first-time dog owners. They were formed as a breed from natural selection during more than four thousand years in a vast territory, which spreads nowadays from the Caspian Sea to China and from Southern Ural to Afghanistan. Now, what we know and have observed since she has been here. She is just a little over a year old. Due to her breed we will be looking for a for specific home for her. She needs room to roam and a person or family who has experience with live stock guardian breeds. She has only been with us a short time but has been an absolute love. She is silly and playful and can most often be found looking for a belly rub. We do require visits here to our rescue and home checks, so adoptions are limited to the Los Angeles, CA area.

Story
Soltan is a sweet 3 year old purebred Great Pyrenees. He was originally purchased from a breeder when he was 8 weeks old. At 3 years old the woman who had him decided he was too big and didn't like that he sheds so she gave up on him. We think he is a perfect gentleman and deserves everything good. He is now in a wonderful foster home and thriving. He is waiting for his forever home. Soltan walks well on a leash and sits and gives his paw when asked. He loves being with people and is a real couch potato. He was with small dogs in his previous home. He enjoys car rides and treats. Because of his size we are saying yes to kids 10 years and older unless you are an experienced great pyrenees dog parent and know the breed. Soltan is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He weighs about 80 lbs. If you know this breed and love big teddy bears, ask us about Sultan! To inquire about Sultan fill out our application OR email us at contactus@thecaninecondition.org

Story
Nimbus is super friendly towards all humans, including little ones. He would benefit from having a large space to roam when he feels like it but he seems to prefer hanging with his people when given the choice. Nimbus gets along well with female dogs and cats that he has been introduced to. He loves walks, meeting new people, sitting by the front door to see what's going on outside, having his teeth cleaned by his Brussels Griffon friend and going for a nice drive. He is great in the car, even on road trips. Fun fact: Cumulonimbus are the giant white towering clouds and that's where Nimbus got his name.

ONLY CONTACT INFO BELOW! COURTESY POSTING! Text 818-378-8995 for more information. Brody is a sweet 2 yo Great Pyrenees who sadly was abandoned in boarding when a rescue group closed. He’s about 95 lbs, super sweet and so eager to find a home to call his own. Brody might be shy upon first meeting but you won’t find a more loyal companion… and boarding is not a place where he should be. Please consider opening your heart to Brody! Good with other dogs. Fixed, UTD on shots and ready for love! Text 818-378-8995 for more information.

Story
RODEO HAS GOTTEN ALONG WITH DOGS WE HAVE INTRODUCED HIM TO THAT ARE HIS OWN SIZE. PROPER INTRODUCTION WOULD BE NEEDED TO EVALUATE IF HE'S GOING TO GET ALONG WITH AN EXISTING DOG IN A HOME BUT BECAUSE OF HIS SIZE AND STRENGTH, WE BELIEVE HE WOULD BE A GOOD MATCH FOR A DOG HIS SIZE. APPLICANTS MUST LIVE IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES IN AN ADULT-ONLY HOME (NO APARTMENTS) WITH A PRIVATE YARD. RODEO is the definition of a Rhinestone Cowboy! Not only does he have stunning good looks, but his DNA results prove that he is quite a unique gem of Great Pyrenees/Aussie/Border Collie. Our rescue has been working with a certified professional dog trainer to help us get to know Rodeo and set him up for success. Rodeo is an incredible dog that would do best with an adopter that has experience with the large working breeds and structure in the home. He would not be a good dog for a first-time dog owner. Mostly comprised of Great Pyrenees, he has the potential to be protective of his family. He doesn’t know his own strength and size at times, so we have been working on him staying calm and focusing on his handler. Because of Rodeo’s grand stature, he would require a home with a yard (NOT AN APARTMENT) and no small children that he could inadvertently knock over or small pets. Rodeo estimated date of birth is January, 2019. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and whoever is lucky enough to adopt this rooty tooty cowboy will get an in-home dog training lesson as part of his adoption. Now that’s something to YEE-HAW about! --- If you are interested in adopting Rodeo please fill out our adoption application by clicking this LINK. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly.
