Story
Hi! My name is Kodiak, and I’m a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees mix, tipping the scales at a whopping 96 pounds of pure love and devotion. I may be big, but deep down, I’m just an oversized lap dog! There’s nothing I love more than leaning against my favorite humans, sitting on their feet, or standing over their lap while I soak up all the love, back scratches, and ear rubs I can get. Because of my love for leaning, I’d do best in a home where no one has balance issues—I wouldn’t want to accidentally knock anyone over!I have a medium energy level, which means I enjoy a good balance of activity and relaxation. I absolutely love to run, hike, and explore, so I need a home with plenty of space to roam and stretch my legs. After a good adventure, I’m just as happy to settle down for a relaxing evening with my favorite humans. Whether we’re outside enjoying nature or inside snuggled up together, I’ll be right by your side. While I adore my people, I do best as the only animal in the household—I want all of your love and attention just for me! My protective instincts make me an excellent guard dog, and I take my job of keeping my home and loved ones safe very seriously. I’m naturally watchful and alert, but once I’m properly introduced to new people, I warm up quickly and enjoy their company.I’m highly intelligent, eager to please, and very trainable. I already know some basic commands and am both house-trained and crate-trained. I also load up in the car easily and travel nicely, making me a great companion for road trips and outdoor adventures. If you’re looking for a loyal, protective, and affectionate best friend, I could be the perfect match for you. I have so much love to give and am just waiting for the right person to take me home. Please come to the shelter today to meet me—I can’t wait to find my forever family! 🐾💙 You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 for any other questions.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Actual lineage and birth date are rarely known.Adoption Fees:-$60 for cats-$60 for dogs over 6 years-$80 for dogs 6 months old to 6 years-$100 for puppies up to 6 monthsCome visit our pets Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-2pm.

Story
Hello! My name is Louise, and I’m a 1-year-old Pyrenees-Anatolian Shepherd mix weighing 73 pounds. I’m a big, affectionate sweetheart who just wants to love and be loved in return. My gentle nature and eagerness to please make me a wonderful companion, and I’m always happy to learn new things—especially if treats are involved! I have a heart full of love and a kind, patient soul that makes me a joy to be around.I adore people and get along great with other dogs and kids. I thrive on attention and affection and will happily soak up all the love you have to give. I’m well-mannered on a leash, load up easily into a vehicle, and travel like a pro. I also do well in a crate when needed and know how to use a doggie door. I’m fully house-trained and always prefer to do my business outside like a well-behaved girl.Since I love to roam, I will need a securely fenced yard to keep me safe. I enjoy having the freedom to stretch my legs, explore, and take in all the scents around me. While I do great with livestock, I’m not a good fit for homes with chickens or other poultry. I have a playful, adventurous spirit and love to go on walks, run around, and enjoy the great outdoors. But no matter how much fun I have outside, I’ll always be ready to come back inside for some snuggles and relaxation with my favorite humans.I am highly intelligent, food-motivated, and eager to please, which makes training easy and rewarding. With consistency, guidance, and a loving home, I will be the most loyal and devoted companion you could ever ask for. If you’re looking for a gentle giant who will always be by your side, come meet me today—I can’t wait to be part of your family! You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
