What an adorable little firecracker !! FULL of personality and afraid of nothing! She is confident, curious, LOVES the water and her baby pool. Often times she's the only one willing to get in. LAMAREY lives to be with other dogs and especially adores her humans. She is literally always happy! You cannot rain on her parade! She is kennel trained and almost house trained! She is a joy to have as part of our foster family. LAMAREY is with me in my home in Memphis, Tn. Once adopted , she will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to her new forever family. Once an application has been submitted and approved , I would be happy to speak with you and tell you all of the wonderful things about her ! You will find our volunteer team to be very responsive so please refrain from submitting an application until you are ready to welcome a new forever family member. Transport runs each weekend, leaving Memphis Tennessee Friday morning around 6 AM at which time they start a group chat with the two drivers and all the adopters who have a A Pet on board. Transport is an additional $185.

Story
We are so excited to be a part of changing the future for this handsome male Great Dane called Neville.  Recently we were asked to help this one year old fawn colored boy to find a home and to do all the vetting from the ground up. You see, Neville was orphaned at birth when his momma died and he was hand- raised and fed by a woman who dearly loved him and still does. Eventually, she realized she was overwhelmed due to his size and the future of caring for him (she was a senior lady)  and sadly she surrendered him to Critter Cavalry Rescue.   Soon our foster mom who has two Great Danes herself, quickly figured out that Neville had only been around his Great Dane dad and siblings all his life and it was a sight to behold when he met the variety of dogs at this new foster home.  Neville tucked his tail and ran with sheer fright! He has since embraced all the foster dogs, cats, horses, donkeys and pigs as his friends. This special boy doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. And if you know the Dane breed traits, he is all of those and more.  He loves to run and play with all his new dog friends and we think he believes he has died and gone to dog heaven with all these friends to play with. Eager to please, Neville is the happiest when he puts his huge head in your lap to absorb all the love from his foster mom.  He loves to be petted and told how good a boy he really is. He is still a wee bit timid of new things and he will seek out a kind human to lean on for reassurance that all is well.   He is not in the house 24/7, but close to being housebroken all the same.  He has been neutered and we talked his stomach for the prevention of stomach flipping later in life.  This common malady effects the large breed dogs in high numbers and the reality of it happening is huge.  It is costly and often how large dogs end up in the ER at the expense of well over $5000 with no guarantee that the emergency surgery will save the dog.   We try to give this all-important insurance by tacking the stomach to help prevent any future flipping of the stomach.  We know that Neville will be the love of some family’s life if he is chosen.  We will require a fenced yard and someone that does not leave him 8-9 hours daily for work.  Shorter work hours away are fine, but he will be lonely if left crated for 8-9 hours. If you are interested in this giant lovebug please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   He is worth every penny donated to adopt him.  You will see that instantly. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 14, 2024, 10:09 pm

Story
Meet Dodge! He is full of puppy energy, but he does extremely well when worked with. He is food motivated, so he has been doing basic commands with treats and "good boys". He has been around kids of all ages and does well, especially with the ones who can play with him. He has been around cats, but after being attacked by a cat, he later in the evening tried to nip back at one. We are unsure if it was play or other, so caution should be exercised in a home with cats. He has been around other dogs and has done well with them. He does need to be crated when unsupervised as boredom makes him anxious.

Story
I’m Cersei, a regal dame of 8 years young, though I look as sprightly as a pup of 4! My coat boasts a stunning fawn hue, framing a majestic face that hints at my Mastiff heritage. Perhaps there’s a touch of extra Mastiff charm in me! My past is a mystery, having trotted through several foster homes before finding myself in my current cozy abode. I’m a lover through and through, and oh, how I adore to lean! A faithful companion, I’ll stand guard with a gentle woof when visitors approach. Following your lead, I’ll wait patiently, ready to shower any newcomer with affectionate slobbers. At a majestic 135 lbs. and towering at 32 inches, I’m quite the sight to behold! And oh, how I revel in a good back scratch, leaning against you in pure bliss. Recently, the vet took a peek at a pesky skin growth on my chest, assuring us it’s nothing to fret over. My foster family has promised to have it tended to before I find my forever home with you.

Story
Woof! I’m Timber, a big-hearted, 3-year-old Great Dane gal eagerly awaiting my forever family. My fawn coat frames a lovely face that hints at my Mastiff lineage, perhaps even a touch of English Mastiff from one of my Great Dane parents. My past is a bit of a mystery, having trotted through several foster homes before finding solace in my current foster family’s care. I’m a sweet soul, sometimes a tad shy, but always ready to shower you with love and loyalty. Protective by nature, I’ll raise a gentle bark to announce visitors, but aggression isn’t in my playbook. At 135 lbs. and 32 inches tall, you won’t need to stoop to pet me! Unfortunately, I recently had a minor hiccup with my leg, needing some extra TLC as it’s not too keen on carrying all my weight. Luckily, my leg is still functional, and the wonderful folks at MAGDRL are helping me through this phase. Bookmark my post and stay tuned for updates as I heal and regain strength. They’ll keep you in the loop on my progress.

Story
I’m Izzie, a 4.5 year old spayed merle girl. I grew up with 2 kids, 3 cats and while I didn’t live with other dogs, I am good with them. I’m a svelte girl at 108 lbs, but have a Dane’s height and am 32” at the shoulders. My foster mom calls me a COVID Dane as I grew up with folks working from home and am not crate trained. So far I’ve been really good in the house and not done anything I shouldn’t have. The one exception is I was incontinent when I arrived and while my foster parents aren’t sure if it’s because of the stress of my old family packing to move, my move to MAGDRL or if I was spayed too early, since I’ve been on Proin, I haven’t had any accidents. I’ve been with my foster parents for two weeks now and I’m starting to show my personality. I like fast walks and while I pulled at first, I’m getting better with every walk. I also prefer pavement over grass. That’s probably because I hate getting my toes wet. We went on a battlefield walk today and I so did not want to cross the stream. I also don’t want to go in the grass to do my business if the grass is wet. My foster parents have a really big yard and two really big dogs – my foster mom says they are horses. Now that I’ve been here a bit, I’m starting to be trusted to be off leash and I’m getting the opportunity to have my zoomies. Mom did catch me rubbing my face in the stall sawdust, so she really keeps a close eye on me when we go to look for fly masks in the pasture that the horses have rubbed off so I don’t rub my face in horse poo. Since I don’t like getting wet, this would be very bad as I’d have to get a bath and no one would be happy. I’m also still shy around new folks and situations. Since I’ve gotten here and because I’m good in the car, I’ve gotten to go to the feed store for grain-free food, Home Depot and the fire station for their monthly meeting. I don’t approach people, they can pet me, but I walk away quickly and look for one of my foster parents. I’m also still a bit unsure of my surroundings, so I definitely want to be in the same room as my foster parents, especially Mom. If she goes to the barn without me, I’ll look out the windows and whine until she comes back. But if they leave the house, I’m not waiting at the window for them when they get home. I’ve not shown much interest in toys or dog beds so far preferring to nap on rugs and, if allowed on the couch. I have tried to “puppy eye” my way into the bed, but haven’t been successful – so far. My other play is to put my head on Mom’s desk or the dinner table to see if I can get a treat or some extra pets. I’ve been successful getting the pets, but not treats – yet. I’m also a “good sleeper” I like to go to bed around 9:30 and will stare at my foster parents until they get the message. I’ll wake up around 7:00 to go out, but will go back to bed if my foster parents want to sleep in. Coming from an active household, and still having lots of energy, I’d like to live with an active family that helps me keep my svelte physique.
