We have a great dane/border collie mix that we are looking to rehome. He is a very friendly and social dog, but he as developed some anxiety issues as he's gotten older, specifically due to loud noises. We live in a very loud neighborhood next to a hospital and hear loud trucks and sirens all day, he is in a constant state of stress. Our property is not fenced, and he has taken to running off when he is outside and hears a loud noise. He is a great dog, and he needs a quiet, calm home where he can live stress free. Due to our work schedules, we are not always available to give him the attention he needs. He is 8 years old, he weighs about 135lbs, and he is tall. He has all of his current shots and vaccines, and is microchipped. He does not shed very much, and tends to get a longer coat in winter. He is a very friendly dog - he has grown up around children and cats and loves both, he is great with other dogs, and he is very social with people. He is spritely for his age but tires quick

Hello! My name is Scooby. I was surrendered to RASKC by my previous owner when they could no longer care for me. I`m a big hunk of hound looking for a soft place to land! I`m still young and learning about the world so I may be a little reserved in new situations. Think of me as a gentle giant who can sometimes be scared of his own shadow. I was previously kept as an outdoor only dog in a yard so I may not have had the best socialization and training so far in life. My new family will want to focus on building my confidence, teaching me good house manners and helping me overcome my shyness of new people and situations. I weigh 86lbs and am considered a large breed dog. Because I am still young, it is possible that I will put on more weight before I finish maturing. I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Welcome Reesaw to CCPAL Rescue. She is an 18-month-old Great Dane mix dog. She weighs in at 102 pounds. She is good with other dogs and came in with an older Great Dane named Planter. Reesaw does pull on leash but we will be working with that. She is moderately active and would be fine with a moderately active family. She is a good balance between active and couch potato. She is good with people and will bond deeply with her person. Great Danes are typically a little shy and they warm up and bond deeply to their family. She does fit this characteristic. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Someone who has owned an XL dog or a Great Dane would be preferable. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 180. Spud is almost four years old. In November we found Spud tied up to a park bench in the early morning while we were out walking our other dog. We took him home because he was shivering and scared. He had a microchip and were able to get in touch with the previous owner, but she said she had moved to Charlotte several months earlier and gave the dog away before she moved. The new owners apparently didn’t want him anymore and just left him out in the cold for someone else to find and deal with. For the last several months we have been fostering Spud. He was extremely skittish and untrusting for the first couple weeks. It was clear he was dealing with some sort of past trauma. But after a couple weeks, he finally started feeling safe inside his new home. He is calm and low maintenance most of the time and loves to cuddle, go for walks, and have his belly rubbed. It’s time for him to now have a long-term permanent home.
