Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Dakota was failed twice by families that were supposed to love her. She adores her people and loves to cuddle with them. She does great in a kennel and house trained. Does well with small submissive dogs. No large dogs. She’s an older girl so a quiet, calm household is a must. Light walks or backyard time will be enough for her. From foster: Cats are good no problem with them. Dogs not so much. Only older or super chill medium to small dogs. She goes out with baby z but honestly doesn't like him because he tries to jump in her face to play but she wont retaliate on him just snaps and turns the other way. Prefers to just be around people, no major walking but she does love to go on walks. And ABSOLUTELY LOVES HER BIG STUFFIES!! Bought her that big lamb from Sam's and she tries to take that thing everywhere. She pretty much free feeds we fill her bowl up all the way in the morning she eats as she wants. Her kennel is her safe place and loves soft stuff to lay on. And loves all the pets you will give her. She is fine outside of her kennel left unattended and doesn't chew on anything fine with people but if she is in her kennel she WILL BARK until she is acknowledged ABSOLUTELY DOSE NOT LIKE BEING IGNORED . Danes tend to talk back.

Story
Reba is a sweet young Great Dane that was found as a stray with a broken leg and another leg non-weight bearing. We believe she had been hit by a car before being discovered by her finders and it was discovered that the back leg that was non-weight bearing had an old injury that had not healed properly. She was underweight and was crawling with fleas when we picked her up 12/30/2023. Reba is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves to lean on her people for pets and gets along with other dogs. She is house trained and crate trained. Reba is decent on a leash, but would benefit from continued training and an anti-pull training collar. She is a typical Dane and just wants to be with her people! She does the Dane-lean and follow you around and lay at your feet while you work. She is laid-back with spurts of zoomies and other silliness - which is a bit of a struggle while she's trying to heal from surgeries! :) Miss Reba is healing from her TPLO (knee surgery) performed 2/16/24 and her front leg is healing up as well! She will have a long scar on her knee from the surgery and her front right leg is a bit larger than the left from healing the break, but other than that, she is a normal, happy young dog. She was spayed 3/27/24 and may need to have another knee surgery unfortunately, but is otherwise ready for her furever home! Help us find miss Reba her forever home! 6/1/24 Update: We may be able to avoid another knee surgery for Reba! We are hopeful she just needs to build the strength in her leg and re-learn to use it properly as she still favors it but it does not appear to cause her pain. So if we can help Reba use her leg more naturally within a month or so, she shouldn't need another surgery. Help us find her forever home! Update 10/22/24: I really don't know why Reba is still here! She is a sweet, cuddle-bug, goofball who doesn't think she's too big for your lap! To help her get adopted faster, her adoption fee is partially sponsored and will now be $275 instead of $350. Please help Reba find her forever home!
