Story
We adopted Olive when she was about 1 year old from Petsmart. She has been a great family dog for us. Our family has to travel for work for the next year, so we are no longer in a position to take care of her. She is now 5. We have two small children and she has been great with them. She is very patient and lazy. When we first got her, we lived in a small apartment, and she actually did well in it. She is big and doesnt move around much. She would not be good for someone really active who wants a dog to run or go for long walks. She is not crate trained and refuses to get close to a crate. Other than that, she is a good listener and we have not had any issues with her. We also have three big beds, leashes, and lots of toys to give away with her. Overall, she is a great family dog or a low-energy companion.

Story
Otto was surrendered to a shelter because his owner had cancer and could no longer care for him. This guys wants nothing more than to be in a home with love and comfort. A Great Dane rescue volunteer saw this sweet guys and immediately posted him to try and save him. He is eight years old but he has energy since he is a mixed breed. He gets along with other dogs. What he wants more than anything is love and attention, and a couch or nice bed to curl up on. It is his favorite activity second to nice walks. But he is also happy to hang out in the yard and on the couch. If you have other dogs, he really seems to want to play but my dogs are older and have no interest, so he just leaves them alone. Otto is just a sweet guy looking for love. (Trying to see if he would be good with cats. I only have outdoor cats and he generally doesn't even notice them until they run.)

Story
Hazel is a very sweet girl. She just wants to make you proud of her, be in your business all day, check on you often (physically and emotionally), lay in the sun, then be a couch potato. Just like most Great Danes, she does not like to be alone. I have been watching her for several months now on behalf of a family friend. There have been life changes that have caused a need for massive down sizing and lifestyle changes. I was able to provide a similar lifestyle and space that Hazel was used to and to help with the sudden transition. She did not have any issues at all with the transition and has adjusted well. Her previous family had a cat and chihuahua siblings and older teenager/young adult kids and her current household has large breed dog and young children. Hazel enjoys walks, car rides, chasing butterflies and reflections. She does need someone to be her companion for most of the day. Hybrid/remote worker is ideal. She can be left for up to 6 hrs alone but it is very hard on her.
