Story
Whitney is a beautiful designer dane who is a love bug. She has had some training and is house crate and leash trained. She has lived with several dogs of all sizes, horses and adult humans. She is respectful of the baby gate and loves to sunbathe with the other dogs. Whitney is very sweet and well mannered.. her mom was a dane and dad a great Pyrenees/ schnauzer mix. A true southern bell she hates the cold! Because Whitney has no idea of her size we are looking for a home without children and other medium/large dogs. Whitney is available for adoption in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex Visit danerescue.net to find out more info about our adoption process and complete the adoption application.

Story
Amos McCoy, an old name for an old man (think of the 1950`s/60`s TV program `The Real McCoys). Amos is the oldest dog we have inGDRNT care, not in longevity, but in age, he has been in GDRNT for over a year, but he is 11 years old. This guy came to GDRNT suffering from bad ear infections and some skin funk… we have been battling this with him and our veterinarian. He was sent to a specialist, who tested him and the results showed that he was allergic to most everything in the environment... And so he was started on allergy shots and different antibotics, but his ear infections did not get any better. Finally the Speciality Vet came up with an antibotic solution that was packed down in the ear canal. Took two rounds of packing the ears, and we started seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. As he started feeling better from the ear infections, we noticed that he was having trouble getting up after laying down, and we started him on some shots for his arthritis (the boy is almost bouncing now some times). There was also a suggestion that we change his kibble... which we have settled on a single protein (Salmon), gluten free, GMO free, low glycemic, no corn, soy, or wheat kibble. And he is doing SO-O-O much better. His ear infections are down to just some yeast, which we are dealing with with a high dose of probiotics. Like we said at the start of this, he is estimated to be 11 years old, which means that he came to GDRNT, potty trained, crate trained, with house manners, and pet friendly. And while he loves a nap, he does well with kids, big dogs, small dogs, and cats! Amos is available for adoption in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex. Story
Hi there! I`m an adorable, 86-pound furball who absolutely loves food and people. When I first got to my foster home, I was a bit skeptical of people and sudden moves freaked me out. But now, I`ve learned that most people are pretty cool and just want me to love on them. I`m sweet as can be, and I adore petting—don`t stop or I`ll annoy you to no end! I`ve also mastered the `go lay down` command and I`m pretty good about following it.I`m a big fan of going on walks, though there are a few things I`m not too keen on. Fast-moving objects like runners, bikers, and motorcycles make me nervous, so watch out! And if we encounter another dog on our walk, you`ll see me getting a bit anxious.I`m okay with my crate, especially if you entice me with a treat. I might whine a bit, but once you leave, I`ll settle down. Just remember, the crate is for when you`re gone—otherwise, I`m happy to be out and about. My foster mom doesn`t let me sleep on the bed, and while I understand, I`ve been known to sneak onto the couch when she`s not looking (shh, don`t tell her!).There are a couple of things I really don`t like: the vacuum and the lawnmower. I think they`re out to get me.But overall, I`m a loving and loyal companion who`s always ready for some affection and a good walk (as long as we avoid those fast-moving and four-legged things)!Abby is available for adoption in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. Story
Luna is 3.5 years old and weighs just under 100 lbs. February 1st is her birthday. She is up to date on all her shots and spayed. I always took her to her annual visits and kept up with her general health. No problems that I have come across. Luna is chipped and I could transfer that information to the new owner easily. Luna is very relaxed for the most part. She gets excited when meeting new people, but calms down quickly. She is good with my 2-year-old son, and she has been around other kids with no issues. She can be playful when riled up but is not aggressive. She has not been around other dogs much, so I honestly don't know her demeanor, other than she wants to play. She has gone to the Truck Yard with me once or twice and does well on a leash. I will send her with everything I have for her, including extra flea & tick medicine, food, toys, dog bed, etc. She has had some formal training, so she would pick up on commands very easily. She walks well on a leash & loves to cuddle!

Story
This story truly tugs at our heartstrings . Sweet Rocky was adopted from the Greenville shelter, but his journey has been anything but smooth. His previous owner claimed he was too big and soon after, Rocky was found abandoned in a local dumping ground . Instead of returning him to the shelter, they left him to fend for himself. Tragically, he was attacked by other abandoned dogs. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Samaritan saw him and took him to the shelter. Rocky was in terrible shape, all beaten up and scared. Before a rescue could be arranged, his previous owners adopted him again, unsure if they would keep him. Sadly, they returned him once more because their fence wasn’t secure and they kept him outside. Rocky had only a few hours left before being scheduled for euthanasia when our rescue found a foster for him. She adored him, but due to a family emergency, she can no longer care for him. Rocky is just 1.5 years old and weighs about 90 lbs. He is nearly perfect! He gets along well with  children, and other dogs. He is gentle, sweet, and craves affection. His foster mentioned that whenever she coughed, Rocky would come running to check on her. He doesn’t like being alone but doesn’t destroy anything. He’s a true velcro dog, always wanting to be close to his humans. Rocky can’t wait to find his forever home or be loved by a foster until he meets his forever family! Let’s help Rocky find the loving home he deserves!  people! Applications to foster or adopt are at codysfriendsrescue.org Breed: Anatolian Shepherd/Mixed Breed Color: White and Brown Size: Large Heartworm: Negative Good With Dogs? Yes Good With Cats? Yes Good With Children? Yes Comments: Rocky has once again returned to us, just as sweet! He deserves a loving forever home. He is perfect with every animal except for chickens. ##2162079##

Story
Gremlin is being fostered in NC. Howdy, I'm Gremlin, a 6 month old Great Dane, but don't worry, you CAN get me wet and I won't turn into Spike! I actually LOVE playing in water. My foster Mommy says I am a gentle giant, but I am still a baby and very playful. I need to learn my commands by touch because I cannot see or hear. And, well, I can be a little slower and I need repetitiveness with my training so I can be a very good boy. My foster Mommy is working with me on my manners, but I can be a bit slow because I have a great nose for food wherever it is heehee. It takes me a little time to navigate a new area, but I will get it, just be patient with me. Right now, I have a Cane Corso foster sister to play with and I love playing tug and wrestle with her. I am already potty and crate trained! When I wake in the morning, I will bark to let you know I has to go outside to do my business. I also walk well on a leash. The bestest thing I really love is to have my ears rubbed and to cuddle with humans. I don't know why they feel squished, after all, I'm the same size as a chihuahua aren't I LOL I just want my very own family to love me and guide me along my journey in this life. And, of course, to cuddle with furever. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
My name is Percy! I am a sweet young boy who is looking for my forever home! Could that be with you? My foster family has described me as a goofy teddy bear because I am always so happy, and like other puppies my age I love to play and run around! I am looking for an active family - I love to take a long walk in the morning as well as another walk in the afternoon or evening. I am an active boy and love to play and interact with my humans both inside and out in the yard. In fact, I would LOVE to have a yard! My foster family says I get great joy in running around and exploring the yard - its also so fun to run around out there when I get my zoomies. While I can entertain myself I would do best in a home with a similar aged playmate! I do well with other dogs (I get so excited when meeting them!), but I have not had any interactions with cats. I am a sweet natured boy and my foster family calls me their little shadow-I love to follow my foster family around and be with them! I give lots of love to my humans too. You will definitely get lots of licks from me! I love to play and chew my toys (tennis balls and squeaky toys are my favorites), and really love interactive play with my humans! If I sound like the right boy for you, please submit an application. I can't wait to meet you! Story
Scout IV is a very loving and affectionate 16 month old Pit Bull / Great Dane mix weighing in at 70 pounds and still growing. His shortened tail gives him a distinguished appearance. A 'happy tail' injury at 7 months old has healed wonderfully and hasn't slowed him down one bit! Scout was rescued with his litter as puppies. The last of his litter adopted, when we found him we were captivated by his expressive eyes and wide smile. He had surgery at 4 months old to tack his ears to prevent development of hematomas between the layers of his cartilage and skin if he has an ear infection (something pit bulls are known to develop when shaking their heads vigorously during infection). We helped Scout ensure early on that he would be more comfortable and stay healthier throughout his life in this regard. Scout continues to grow strong and will never know how big he is, as his favorite place to be is relaxed and lounging fully on one of his humans. He truly loves his people with all of himself and will be loyal and true to your family! He is good with other dogs and children and has loved ours (ages 5 and 7) well. His need for attention and affection would best be met by a family who can solely focus on him to begin with and then over time add other dogs as desired. His size and enjoyment of basking in the sunshine would be best suited in a home with a yard large enough for him to play. Scout loves to gather his human's belongings; sometimes to present back to them as a gift and sometimes to use as a comforting chew toy. He is still learning and will be eager to please his family. His Great Dane legs gave him access to countertops, but his counter-surfing habit has largely been broken. He is crate trained, housebroken, and enjoys walks with his humans. Leash training will need to be a continued effort, but he does not fight you. Scout truly enjoys every moment of time you give him and will flourish under your love, play, care and attention. As an example, even when it is time to go outside for his potty break, he MUST share a few moments of affection before he is willing to leave your presence. It is a unique and lovable quirk that shows Scout's deep devotion, love, and need for affection. We adore Scout. It is heartbreaking for our family to need to find a new home for him, but we believe that with our older dog (only by 12 months) who is decidedly the alpha, it is best for Scout. He is coming into his own and has discovered he wants to be the leader of the pack. We want what is best for Scout. We will miss his affection, his smile, his snuggles and his excited full body wiggles on a daily basis. We look forward to knowing he is with a family who will love him as much as we do. He is loving, active, playful, affectionate, and loyal! 2 Great Dane Pups Available Sky & Angel are two & a half mos old. They'll be available for adoption in 2 weeks. Applications are being accepted for pre-adoption. These black beauties are Great Danes. They're the result of irresponsible pet owners who failed to have their pets spayed & neutered. Pictures of their mama dog & daddy dog are available upon request. The girls play very well together but would benefit from being adopted to separate homes, especially with an older doggie companion to learn from! Sky is bigger than her sister, but they'll both be very large when full grown as Great Danes are an XL breed. The girls are learning commands & potty training is going well. They're getting familiar with wearing halters & leash walking. Antlers & beef bones are favorite chews as they're teething. They've had their first puppy shots & been dewormed. Soon they'll be going for car rides & working on socialization. Sky is a lovebug who enjoys soft sweet words & kisses. Angel can be more adventurous & she really enjoys her rope toys. They both love love classical music during nap time & during the night! They sleep ALL NIGHT from 8:30pm until 6am! 😇😇 Dane puppies aren't fully mature until they reach 2 years of age. True to their breed, they are sensitive, loyal companions who want to be with their family at all times. We're looking for experienced dog owners who are ready to provide loving forever homes! Meet Annistyn, the Majestic Alpha Great Dane! Hey there, dog lovers!  We are thrilled to introduce you to Annistyn, our beautiful and lively six year old Great Dane in search of her forever home. Annistyn is the epitome of grace and strength. She's a stunning, sweet, and loving girl who adores being around her humans. She's a natural-born Alpha, ready to lead her pack with love and loyalty. This majestic girl is known for her impressive jumps, so make sure you have a tall fence to keep her safe and secure while she enjoys her playtime. Annistyn is the life of the party, and she gets along splendidly with dogs Labrador-sized and larger. She loves to make new friends and share her exuberance with them. However, Annistyn does have a strong prey drive and is not a good fit for households with cats or small animals. She's house trained and crate trained, which makes her an all-around good girl. We're looking for an experienced Great Dane owner who can provide Annistyn with the love and guidance she deserves. If you think you're the right match for this magnificent lady, please get in touch with us! Let's give Annistyn the forever home she's been waiting for. Please like, comment and share me so I can go home to my forever family soon!! White Kisses requires all dogs to be in training within thirty days of adoption. Training is crucial for puppies to learn lifelong skills and to understand their place in the family pack. It is also essential part of us getting to know each other and to help me become a well mannered adult GREAT Dane!  For more information about White Kisses adoption process and an application please visit www.whitekissesgreatdanerescue.com/adopt ##1199719##
