Story
Sawyer is a 5 year old neutered male. This BIG (200lb+) boy loves everyone and has never met a human stranger. We are helping his family find a new home as he has become increasingly agitated with the other dogs in his home. He will do best as an only pet. He has a lot of love to give! Story
We got sawyer as a baby at 8 weeks old. Now hes 5 years old. Hes recently became aggressive with our other dogs and no longer gets along with them. For everyones safety were trying to find him a good loving home. He’s a sweet good boy, loves toys, bones and to play. Hes very goofy and if theres a couch or bed for him to lay or sleep on thats where he will be half the time. He is kennel trained and goes to his kennel with the kennel command. He does need to be the only pet. He is full blooded Great Dane but isnt AKC registered because his mom was a rescue. It breaks our hearts to rehome him but we no longer have a choice. Please consider opening up your home to this sweet goofy loving boy.

All AHHS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate). Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions. Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!   Sindel says, “WHAT?! I don’t have any adoption applications yet?!” Meet Sindel! This gal’s been through a lot. She’s had a litter of puppies and was transferred to the AHHS from a tiny, struggling shelter in Kentucky. We quite literally saved Sindel. We feel certain she and her pups would have been euthanized had they stayed where they were. Given Sindel’s been through motherhood, she has calmed significantly, but you can see that she’s slowly gaining back her sparkle. &#226&#156&#168 She will be spayed so that she never has to go through birth again. We want all eyes to be on her now because that’s what she deserves. Sindel is listed as a Dane mix. She weighs around 65 pounds. She’s dog, adult, and kid friendly and could be cat tested upon request. Give this pup the life she deserves! She doesn’t ask for much; just a warm bed, acceptance, and stability. Meet Bruce! Bruce is a one-year-old Great Dane. As one would imagine, this is a big dog. He weighs in at nearly 110 pounds but will likely grow as he was severely malnourished when he first joined our program. Bruce is really just a giant puppy that needs to be taught how to be a dog. We had to start from the very bottom with him and work slowly to where he is now. When he came to us, he did not know how to interact with other dogs, play with toys, or eat from a bowl. This was all foreign territory. He's come a long way, but we don't wish to sugarcoat things as we fear this may prevent him from finding the right home. The person(s) adopting Bruce has their work cut out for them with training, but this is a dog with such GREAT potential. He would thrive in a home environment. Bruce is dog friendly with a proper introduction. As far as kids go, we would feel best with him going to a home with mature children or teenagers. While breed experience isn't required, it is preferred, and we will require thorough research of the breed at a minimum. We've done everything in our power to ensure Bruce is set up for success. He's been neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, dewormed, and microchipped. We are working with him daily and he continues to improve! We've set the foundation, now it's time for an adopter to take over and 'build the house' of success for Bruce. If interested, please email Halee@ahhumanesociety.org with questions and complete an adoption application at ahhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/ or email Halee@ahhumanesociety.org with any questions!February 24, 2025, 4:11 pm
