Story
This is Dallas. He is a 2yr old piebald Harlequin Great Dane that we acquired July of 2022 in Beavercreek from a Petland. He is also AKC certified. Things we are looking in his next family home is a safe, dog friendly living space. He is very fun and playful, loves attention and is a total sweet heart. He can be vocal when he wants love and attention, and for as big as he is, he is gentle and very well behaved. He loves kids, is house broken, can be crated, and knows basic commands. He was raised with 2 other dogs, a border collie and a Bernese, and has behaved with other dogs. His coat has been an issue for one of our teenagers which is main reason why we must part ways with him. Despite efforts to curb and mitigate our teenager's severe allergies to him, it has come to the point where his dander is too overwhelming and can no longer manager the allergic reactions he causes.

***Raige is looking for a foster-to-adopt situation ONLY while she is still gaining weight.Meet Raige (aka Madame)! 🐾👑Don’t let her name fool you – Raige is all about spreading joy! At 10 years old, this Great Dane beauty is still strong, active, and full of life. 💪🐶Here’s what makes Raige so special:🍖 Foodie Extraordinaire – She does the cutest happy dance at mealtime! 🕺🍲🚗 Car Ride Enthusiast – Loves going “bye-bye” and rides like a dream.🛋️ Comfort Queen – Soft dog beds and couches (if allowed!) are her happy places.🐾 Dog-Friendly – Raige gets along with pups of all sizes, from tiny 8-pounders to fellow gentle giants.Raige is currently 81 lbs but will need to gain about 20 lbs+ to be at proper weight. Raige is a bit shy around men at first, so patience and gentleness are key. She’s a certified sweetheart who loves giving her paw to remind you to keep petting her. 🐾❤️🔍 What Raige Needs:A foster-to-adopt family willing to help her gain weight and give her love while she gets adoption-ready.A home without cats (we’re not sure how she feels about them) and kids who are excited to meet her first.Raige came to us underweight, but she’s healthy and on her way to becoming her best self! Could your home be her palace? 🏡🐕👑**Raige will have to be fostered until she is up to her proper weight and weekly check ins with us to be sure she is continuing on her right path to being completely healthy. Raige's adoption fee is $150, she is spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for Lyme and Heartworm, flea & tick treated, and microchipped. You can apply online for them at https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sr2794&method=online_form_html&formid=21 OR stop into the shelter 12- 5 pm Tuesday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before we close to ensure we have time to do the adoption.Take advantage of our foster-to-adopt program, where you can take any dog 4 mos and older home for a week to make sure it is a good fit before committing to adoption.

Story
Meet Cody! This big boy is a Great Dane mix at a little over a year old. He is very sweet and has a lot of energy, and would be great for an active family. We are not sure at this time how he is with kids or other dogs, so we ask that you bring in your children and current dogs when meeting with Cody. We are also unsure at this time what kind of training he has had, so expect some training needed. If you are interested in Cody come to the SPCA today!

Story
When my owners no longer wanted me they took me, to SPCA Cincinnati and tied me to their gate and left me! The next morning when the shelter workers showed up, they contacted Cincinnati Animal Care so I could serve my stray time. When my stray time was up the shelter contacted Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue to come for me. Within hours I was here at the rescue. Update 10/24: Well I got neutered today and NOW Grandma says I need to work on my manners before I can find my forever home. Hummmm I guess that means I need to be better with everyone not just her. Update 11/02: I am NOW ready for adoption!! I am still working on my manners, but I am getting better every day. Update 5/4/24: Well as you know I was adopted out in September 2023 and unfortunately it did not work out. I was so excited to have a family of my very own I went into protective mode and that made my adopters nervous. We tried to make it work but we decided they were not the right family for me. Update 6/11/24: I am now ready to try being adopted again. Grandma and I have taken lots of trips to the Vets office, feed stores etc. and I am no longer getting overly excited when I see strangers. Although I still do LOVE to meet people now I have learned I must have manners if I want them to pay attention to me. __________________________ If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you will need to follow the adoption procedures on our website. (www.hhdane.org) The procedures are on the right-hand menu. http://www.hhdane.org/hhdane/procedure.htm I have also pasted them below for your convenience. Thank you for your interest in our dogs. Our adoption area is Ohio and Extreme Northern Kentucky (Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties). We do not adopt to any other areas. For exact area go to FAQ. They have been wormed, checked for heartworm, lyme disease & ehrlichia, and placed on heartworm preventative. All dogs are kept for a minimum of one month for temperament evaluation and to be house trained. Registration papers are returned to the AKC as per their request and there are no exceptions. We require a fenced yard, fence must be at least 4 feet tall (48 inches) and must attach or surround with direct access to the building where the dog will be housed, NO Exceptions. Invisible and electric fences do NOT meet the requirements of a fenced yard. A yard of adequate size, to be determined on an individual basis. All pets in the home must be altered and current on vaccinations prior to applying to adopt. Adopter must be at least 21 years of age at time of application. In some rare cases apartments and condos may be acceptable if they have direct access to a fenced area for the dog to relieve themselves.
