Story
Papi is a 6-month-old large breed puppy with striking white fur and beautiful grey spots, along with his gorgeous grey eyes that will melt your heart. While we’re not exactly sure of his breed—he may have some Great Dane or American Bulldog in him—what we do know for sure is that he’s an absolute gem. When Papi first arrived with us, he was a little shy and unsure of the world. But it didn’t take long for him to come out of his shell, and now he’s the sweetest, most loving boy around. Papi absolutely adores people and gets along with everyone he meets! He’s made huge progress in his foster home, learning to walk confidently on a leash (something he was once scared of) and becoming crate trained. While his potty training is still a work in progress, he’s doing great with minimal accidents. Papi currently lives with two other dogs and cats, and he's absolutely thriving in a social environment. He has a best friend here at the shelter named Arnold, and the two of them love to run and play together. While Papi enjoys his playtime, he also knows how to wind down and snuggle up on the couch for some quality downtime. He’s calm, well-mannered, and incredibly easy-going. At his grooming appointments, Papi is a total pro—just sitting back and relaxing without any fuss. If you’re looking for a well-rounded, handsome, and affectionate giant pup to add to your family, Papi might just be the perfect fit! Ready to meet this lovable boy? Fill out an application for Papi today! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Papi, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. Since he is a large breed puppy it is best to delay his neuter until he is closer to his full size. This will help ensure proper bone structure and joint development. More details on this can be discussed during the meet and greet. Papi does have a vet appoint on Monday the 23rd of this month to receive his microchip, vaccinations, and heartworm test. He has been on monthly flea and tick prevention. His adoption fee is $300, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has and will receive. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
LOCAL TN ADOPTION ONLY. The good.....He is kennel trained. Goes in very easily with treats. Will run right in if a treat is thrown in there. Will bark for a few minutes but settles. If he’s in a crate, in a room alone and he hears a lot of commotion, he will bark. If you’ve left and the house is quiet, he’s quiet. He’s great in the kennel if someone is in the same room with him though. He likes being with his people. He happily snoozes in an open kennel during the day if you’re working from home and the kennel is near your work area.Scooby is a goof! There’s not much he takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! He will do just about anything for a treat. Even stuff he really doesn’t want to do. But treats are life. He’s overall an easy dog that is sweet, happy, cuddly and isn’t overly energetic. He loves playing and is a bulldozer but he relaxes and naps a lot too. He doesn’t require mass amounts of exercise. He is more than happy to lounge around in bed and watch tv with his humans. The bad...He snores. It’s not quiet...He hates small dogs, if your neighbor has one he will make it his life"s mission to eradicate it. He is generally good on a leash until aforementioned small dog walks up, then he will happily chill with you while you recover from your rotator cuff repair. Story
Lucy is a very large, bouncing, fun-loving puppy. She is a pure-bred Great Dane. If you have experience with this breed, she would love to meet you. Lucy enjoys riding in a car, getting baths, and taking walks. She just doesn't understand how big and strong she is. She is crate trained and house-broken. A large fenced-in yard and an active family would be ideal for her.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Hey, my name is Mazi! I am a fun loving dog looking for a home that can match my levels of hype! I am an active boy who loves to play and am seeking a home that will help me get my energy out in an appropriate way. I would do best in a home that can provide some training so I can learn to be more polite. This would mean I need a home without children under 12, as I can be sensitive about my things and I am a rambunctious guy. If you are looking for a hiking buddy or just a bundle of joy then I am your dude!

Story
Hi there, my name is Sigrid! I am a sweet and loving lady looking to live out my golden years in my forever home. I have lived a life full of stories and frenzy. I am hoping to live the rest of it comfortable and loved by my forever family. I have been in the care of HSHV for a long time, and while I love my foster family dearly, I would love to start my journey as an adopted dog and leave the shelter life in the past! Here is what my fantastic foster family has to say about me: `Siggy has been living in a relatively quiet home, with adult children coming and going, and mostly adult visitors. She lives with a dog savvy cat, they aren`t `friends` but they live peacefully side by side. In general, she`s a medium energy dog but she still gets the zoomies in small bursts. She can play a little rough, using her paws to pounce and smack things down, so I wouldn`t recommend her being with little dogs or children. Siggy is a very good dog! She just loves to be with people, will follow you around the house and is happy to just lay at your feet. She`s very well behaved in the house, doesn`t try to get on the furniture or go upstairs, and she has the run of our house when we`re gone but you will want to protect your garbage and don`t leave food on the counters, where her mouth can reach!`. I am currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a time to meet me!
