Story
Meet Shadow! He is a Great Dane that is around 9 months old and 103# so he will get bigger! Shadow is a loving boy that is still learning the ropes on how to “dog”. He absolutely LOVES other dogs so another home with an active dog would be preferred but not required. He is working on basic manners and leash walking, He’s doing well in a crate and will voice his opinion a little bit but settles down. He does well with the foster cats in the house but will sometimes chase them if they run. House breaking is about 90% with only having accidents here and there. He did leave with kids previously, but is not currently, so we suggest kids over 10 years old du to his size and puppy like manners. He loves hanging out in the backyard and playing with stuffed toys. He is a big goofy boy, that wants to give you all the love. His neuter is scheduled for Dec 10th, We will discuss foster to adopt with approved adopters to see if it will be an option.  This animal is up to date on all shots, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. They have been heartworm tested (negative) and on prevention.  The adoption fee is $350.00 If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an application. http://www.ajssearchandrescue.org/adoption-application  November 2, 2024, 3:26 pm

Story
Looking to re-home a Great Dane dog-roughly 1 year old, not spayed. She is very exciteable and loveable with humans, but too aggressive with small dogs for us to keep her. She is Harrlequinn coated and would be great for a home with other large dogs or no other dogs. She is okay with cats.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Marley. I'm about 1 year old and I currently weigh about 65 lbs. I was very thin when I first arrived at the shelter, but I am steadily gaining weight and looking much healthier. I came into the pound with my best friend Ziva, through no fault of our own after some complaints were made to the pound over concerns of my health. I am an extremely sweet and very loving girl. I am still young, playful and very energetic and would do well with a family that can spend some time working with me on my training. I do a fairly good job of keeping my kennel clean, but may need a little more work with potty training once I am in a home. I get along well with other dogs and I love to play. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Duke is a great dog that needs more space and attention then I have to offer. He is trained. Sit, stay, come, in, back, down, no, spot. He loves walks. He will alert you that someone is coming to your home. But he is definitely a gentle giant. He's OK with girl dogs and he may be more territorial with males. He was raised with a cat. He is kid friendly, he just doesn't realize he's big.

Story
He is a very sweet and playful pup. He is protective/guarding when initially meeting strangers but settles in quickly. He is a bit jumpy and will require ongoing training through his puppy years. Guinness can at times resource guard so will need his new family to be familiar with this trait and know how to handle it when it comes up. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:Privacy Fence No young/small children Experienced Handler Ongoing Training and Socialization Guinness is a very loving, sweet guy once he gets to know you and trust you. He has some resource guarding issues so an experienced handler is what this guy is looking for. He LOVES to play all day with his canine siblings and doesnt bother with the cats.     CLICK THIS LINK TO COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION: http://petstablished.com/adoption_form/4288/generic ##181703##
