Story
Moose is a big, Handsome, and loving 2 year 8 months old dog who is full of energy, charm, and lots of love to give! He's a happy boy who came to the shelter on December 16, 2024 when his previous owners could no longer keep him. He is smart, knows many commands, and is very affectionate and friendly. He would love a home with a nice tall fenced-in yard where he can run around and play freely. He loves to play fetch and chase after a ball. He is a good boy who is very curious, and funny, and he would love to please his people. He would make a great companion and is eager to find his forever home. Here is a summary of his key traits: - Affectionate, Friendly, Curious, Funny, Athletic, Playful, Smart - Came to the shelter when his owners couldn't keep him - Needs a fenced-in yard to run and play - Full of love and energy If you think you can give Moose a loving home, please come to the shelter to meet him today! If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting. No need to shuffle the animals around any more than necessary. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance. The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home. In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.

Story
This is Dagney! She is just about the sweetest and most easy going dog I I have ever met! She was found in the middle of the Croatan Forest on 02/03/25, and based on her outside appearance, the vet assumes she was used for breeding and then dumped when she was no longer able to have babies. She is approximately 5 years old, and although she is a huge fan of naps, she has a lot of spunk left in her! She just wants to be with her people all of the time! She is still learning what it is to run and play because it doesn't appear that she has ever been given that chance up until now. She has been great with other dogs, and with children of all ages! She also os fantastic on a leash, crate trained, and knows basic commands (sit, stay etc.) Help us give this beautiful girl a chance at a new beginning!

Story
She's almost 4 years old, we got her as a puppy but she hasn't shown any interest in bonding with our child. Our son is 2 and the bigger he gets, the more he wants to play. She doesn't show any aggression, she's actually really sweet and loves to cuddle, just not with the baby. She's over 90 pounds and doesn't know he own size so this results in her knocking down the child a lot. It's just not safe to keep her around the baby, again not due to aggression or anything. She just needs someone who can give her the love and attention she needs.
