You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ruby, a spirited 1-year-old female Great Dane who will be arriving from Louisiana in February! This big girl is a social butterfly, getting along wonderfully with other dogs and can be around cats if supervised. While her family loves her immensely, it has been challenging keeping her out of the chicken coop, as she has a high prey drive and a knack for going after fresh chicken dinners on the farm! Ruby can clear a 6-foot fence, so ensuring she has a secure yard is essential. She adores her canine fur siblings and loves to play, making doggy daycare a fantastic option for her in her new home. With her fully vetted status, spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, Ruby promises a lifetime of love for the lucky adopter!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bean – Your Big, Goofy Best Friend! Bean is a 100-pound, 1-year-old giant who came from a Louisiana breeder alongside his buddy, Split. Currently in a Texas rescue, Bean is awaiting transport to Minnesota, where he’ll need a foster or forever home. He’s a big, lovable goofball with a lot of energy and an even bigger personality! Bean has had no formal training and will need an experienced handler—preferably someone familiar with Great Danes or other giant breeds—who can help him learn some much-needed manners. Right now, he’s an expert at counter-surfing, doesn’t have the best leash skills, has no personal barriers and has zero obedience training. That said, Bean absolutely loves playing with other dogs and thrives in an active environment. He’s a busy guy who enjoys fun and interaction, but he’ll need a patient, committed adopter to guide him in the right direction. Bean is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered—ready to start his journey to a REAL forever home. If you’re willing to put in the work, Bean will no doubt reward you with a lifetime of love, loyalty, and laughs. Could you be the one to give this oversized pup the training and stability he needs?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ace, a beautiful Blue Merle Great Dane, who is in need of a special home to help him overcome his past and become the majestic, loving companion he’s meant to be. Ace came to us from a breeder in Louisiana, where he endured a harsh environment filled with loud yelling and little socialization. Because of his difficult upbringing, Ace is understandably cautious and fearful, but with the right guidance, he has the potential to blossom into the sweet, loyal dog we know he can be. At 2-3 years old, Ace has had some rough experiences, but he is fully vetted, neutered, chipped, and heartworm negative, making him ready to begin his healing journey with the right person. He thrives in a calm, consistent environment with individuals who are experienced with the breed and are willing to put in the time to counter-condition him. Ace has a special bond with women and would flourish best in a home with only female caregivers. While he does well with men at the kennel, he has shown signs of distrust toward men in public. He has also shown a tendency to growl at children, so a home without kids is ideal for him. Ace is an incredibly loving dog once he feels safe, and he adores other dogs—this is his happy place. His ideal home would provide him with opportunities for socialization with other dogs, as well as consistent training and structure. He would benefit greatly from doggy daycare and a structured training routine to help him build confidence and trust. This is not a dog for a first-time dog owner. We are looking for someone with extensive experience with dogs, and specifically Great Danes, who understands the complexities of this breed and is willing to work with Ace as he learns to trust again. He needs someone who can provide gentle guidance and a safe, predictable environment where he can thrive and heal. We believe in Ace's potential and see the kind, loving dog that he can be. To support his journey, the rescue will cover the cost of training and behavior work because we are committed to helping Ace become the majestic Dane we know he can be. If you're the experienced, compassionate person who can give Ace the life he deserves, you will be rewarded with a loyal companion who is ready to share his love and joy with you.   We are only considering applicants with experience in handling large, complex dogs, particularly those with a background in working with Great Danes. If you think you’re up for the challenge of helping Ace heal and flourish, we’d love to hear from you.Click here to watch a video of Ace.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Story
Needs a kid-free home - has nipped (level 2/3 on Dunbar scale, please contact for more info). He adores kids but is very protective of his home/property/car. Not food aggressive. Loves other dogs. Hoping to find him a loving home where he can thrive. Overall, he's a healthy and happy boy - just like the day we met him. He's so handsome (coloring is a blue fawn) and stayed on the smaller side, we call him a pocket Dane. 108 pounds. DOB is 4/20/19. He knows all his basic commands and is patient, kind, perfect mix of playful and lazy, and wants to please. Health scare when he was about 1.5, they ended up tacking his stomach. They think it might have been an IBS flareup, we found a food that works and he's had great digestion/no health issues since.

Story
Hey there, I am Gordy aka Gordon (when I’m not listening) and Gordito Crunch (when my foster mama is playing with me)! I am an almost 3 year old Great Dane/Great Pyrenees mix. That just means I’m extra great of course!  I have the Great Dane height and body but a Great Pyrenees head with the Pyrenees shedding.  I was originally surrendered as a puppy due to having special back legs. I was adopted to a wonderful family but recently was surrendered back to rescue because I can be a strong personality. I get that from the Great Pyrenees side.  I love hard and love attention from my humans but don’t enjoy people I don’t know initially. I take my job of guarding the home seriously and need my humans to communicate and prove to me that they can control and protect the house so I don’t have to worry about it.  I recently spent a month with a really nice lady who taught me really fun things like walking well on leash, a strong place command, heel, come and all of the other skills I need to be a well mannered boy.  I really love to play with toys and other dog friends as long as they are not dominant. I’m a total goofball but have shown resource guarding over food with other dogs. I prefer to eat my food and bones in my kennel.  I really love my kennel. I sleep there at night and when my foster parents are gone. I will counter surf if left unattended.  Remember how I was surrendered as a puppy due to having special legs? Well, I still have special back legs. I was born with slightly twisted femurs so I walk a bit differently and have arthritis in my back knees. I love to run and play but can be sore after playing all day long so I occasionally take gabapentin to help. I also require daily joint supplements to help my bones stay healthy.  I currently take anxiety meds daily. I have been on these since I was young to help with my desire to protect the home. These meds cost about $90 for a 90 day supply so any future adopter needs to be able to continue to pay for regular medications.  Foster Mama Here: Gordy is the bestest boy. We fostered him when he was a puppy as well. We do not let him greet visitors at our house and require him to stay on his bed in a “place” while visitors are here. He is also happy to stay in his kennel. He does like to meet people slowly and at a good pace. Once he knows and trusts you he will forever welcome you as a family member of his.  Gordy has so much potential and loves so hard. But he will require owners who can set strict boundaries in the home and hold him accountable. His breed and genetics make him want to protect his home and people but if you a set boundaries he is such a great listener.  We walk him on a prong collar and he is eCollar trained. His adopters will need to commit to continued use of these training tools and also meeting with his board and train trainer to learn about everything he knows.  Gordy loves the snow and playing outside. His favorite is his doggy pool in the summer. We have 4 other dogs in our home and he plays with all of them.  Gordy lived with kids in his first home. He was very protective over them so we do not recommend he go to a home with children under the age of 12. He has been thriving with a farm life and would do best outside of the city. ##954057##

Story
Kota here! That’s right, I have finally put on enough weight to begin the hunt for my forever home!  I am a 3 year old neutered male Great Dane. I have a fawn coat with Merle splotches aka freckles on my ears.  When I first came into rescue I came from a neglect case and was found  tied to a tree, emaciated, with many parasites and open sores. I slowly gained weight but initially had a hard time understanding I don’t need to fight for my food. I showed resource guarding behaviors but after being neutered and getting to a healthy weight I am much more comfortable with other dogs around food.  I need a family who is confident and comfortable implementing boundaries around food and resources such as furniture, beds, etc. Doing so will help me learn I don’t need to protect these things in a new living situation. I am comfortable sharing all of these things in my foster home now. I currently eat my meals in my kennel so I don’t have to worry about sharing food and prefer to continue to eat in a safe space by myself. I can however happily sit and wait for a treat with other dogs around me! I do love to play tug and share toys with my foster brother and sister.  I am learning how to play appropriately. I can be a bit vocal when I get very excited but I listen to my foster parents when they tell me to calm down. I love to wrestle with other non-dominant dogs. I would probably do best with dogs over 25 pounds due to my size, energy and play style.  I LOVE human attention and snuggles. I am a smart boy who is kennel trained, potty trained and I know sit, down, stay, off and out. I love to play fetch in the yard. I LOVE vet visits - again give me all the human attention always! Foster Mama has been working with me on patience for my meals. I know I need to sit and wait until she tells me “ok” for my food. I am also learning “4 on the floor” as in an be a bit jumpy with my favorite people. I just am so excited to see them I can’t contain myself! Even though I am 3 I am a higher energy boy who loves to run and play. I would love an active family.  Recently I have started going to the local indoor dog park and have done SO well playing with other dogs and meeting all the new human friends.  Kota will be most successful with a family who will continue to utilize a crate, attend training classes, and is willing to continue to work on his socialization.  I am currently in foster care in the Twin Cities.  To learn more about me reach out to my rescue! ##2208464##
