Story
Hi- I’m Bailey, and I am a BIG beautiful baby!  I have the sweetest eyes, beautiful soft ears, and extra long legs.  Here are some things you should know about me: Breed mix – Best guess is Great Dane, Hound, Pointer and/or possibly Great Pyrenees- a big mix! Age – about 6 months – date of birth 5/9/24 Weight – last official weight was 45 lbs at the beginning of October.  I am a skinny, lanky girl right now, but once I fill out, I am going to be a large to extra-large sized dog when full-grown. Activity level – medium –  I do have bursts of goofy, clumsy energy that make my foster family laugh.  I love to wrestle with the other dogs in my home, but I also like to snuggle with my humans, or lounge around on a comfy bed or couch. Things I like to do- I am a pretty chill girl during the day and hang out on my bed while my mom works.  I am submissive with other dogs, but once I am comfortable I love to play with them.  I like to sniff around in the back yard, and I like chewing on bones and sticks.  I love food, and my food motivation will make it fun to work on training with me. Kennel-  I sleep quietly in the kennel all night (although I am an early riser)  and I am kenneled periodically during the day. Sometimes I go into the kennel on my own to relax.  I do bark at strangers in the home if I am kenneled while they are there – but I quiet down quickly Potty Training-  I am almost completely housebroken – you just need to pay attention to how much water I have been drinking Things I am working on-  My foster mom is showing me that the world is not a scary place, and that we can have fun adventures together.  I was very nervous when I first got here, and new situations are still scary for me. My foster family takes me to a dog-friendly brewery, and I love meeting all the new people and dogs there.  Now that I am used to the humans in my home, I love to be near them, and like to get pets and belly rubs from them.  I am also learning that food on the counter does not belong to me -since I am very tall and have a hound’s nose, my adoptive family will need to make sure food is kept out of reach.  I have made great progress in learning to sit nicely for pets and treats instead of asking for them by jumping. Dogs-  I am being fostered with two adult dogs, and I follow them everywhere and love to play with them.  I would love another dog in my forever home, but it is not essential Kids -  Although I am very gentle and sweet, I am still working on not jumping on people.  Because of my size, it is best that I go to family with older children Cats-  unknown Walking-  My leash manners need some work, but I have learned that walking on a leash is not scary, and I love my walks now.  I rarely go potty on a leash, so it’s best that my forever family has a fenced yard, or has the patience to work with me on this Other things you should know about me- Like most extra-large dogs, I am a messy drinker, and can be a heavy drooler, especially when I’m nervous or if someone has food they are not sharing with me. I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations and preventive care, and ready to find a forever family If you would like to meet Bailey, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.
