Story
***Fully Sponsored!!!*** That Means That A Generous Donor Paid For His Entire Adoption Fee. An Approved Application Pays $0!!! Tiny is not a clever name as he is far from that! This beautiful, 2 year young boy, weighs in at about 100 pounds! His merle coat is soft against you when he does the traditional “Dane lean”. His initial response around someone new is his deep bark, sometimes mixed with a little bit of a growl, but he warms up very quick! Sometimes he can’t contain his excitement and will jump up on you for a hug. With most large breeds, anxiety comes with the package and he has some anxiety being in the shelter environment. He loves his humans, and just strives for that affection and embrace. He loves to give hugs, which after he embraces you, it’s hard to get mad about him jumping on you. He knows some basic commands - he comes and sits, can even stay, and he is working on leash etiquette - he seems smart and eager to please. He is looking for a home with lots of love, patience and consistency to let his personality shine. Someone with large breed experience would also be beneficial for this handsome boy along with older children as he doesn't realize his size sometimes when he gets the zoomies! He has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia, which is common for all bigger breeds. He shows no signs of any discomfort. We are doing some preventative maintenance and he gets hip/joint supplement every morning. He still runs around like normal, and sits, and gets up off his bed or floor very well! Don’t let this handsome, loyal boy pass you by! While he doesn't showcase very well in his kennel (Barrier anxiety) he does great out of his kennel. With any meet and greets, we go outside, and walk together, and in the matter of minutes, is leaning against you like he has known you his whole life! Even when he has gone on field trips, he is great with strangers that are close. No bark, No growl. The shelter environment is just not a good fit for him, as he has just not adjusted. Luckily we have a very paw-some volunteer that takes him for the weekends, or sometimes during the week to just get out of here for decompressing! Don't let how he shows in his kennel impede your judgement about him. While most animals can adjust, some are just not fit for the kennel environment. He has shown some newer developments in being pretty gentle with puppies. We haven't seen him do any corrections yet, but he seems to not mind pups, where as other adult dogs he is pretty selective. If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts. Please visit our website for additional information.
