She is a medium energy girl who is content to lounge with a chew toy after walks or playtime, and would make an excellent WFH buddy. Shea does well right away with calmer pups and might take a day or two to warm up to higher energy pups. She has been very gentle meeting kids 6+ so far, enjoying all their attention. Shea is house trained and nearly crate trained, only needing a few minutes before settling in. She is currently crated for the work day and overnight without accidents. Shea would love nothing more than to find a family she can go for walks with, join on car rides to new adventures, and snuggle up with at the end of the day. She will thrive in a cat-free home looking for a great companion. Could she be the one for you? Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. Story
Blossom is our little…. Let us rephrase that…. BIG beautiful Blue Merle Great Dane girl that will delight any Dane loving family! She was born a year ago and her mom died shortly after giving birth and she and her siblings were bottle fed by the owner of her mom and dad. This girl spent the first year of her life in this home with a Dane brother and her Great Dane father.  Soon the elderly owner realized that having so many large dogs in her care were just too much to handle.  She was not able to properly feed everyone and to maintain their care and get everyone spayed and neutered and all shots done.  The love of this kind woman shows through so clearly in Blossom’s spirit and she is kind, and loving and sweet and gentle with all the new friends she has made on the foster’s farm.  Her owner gave our Critter Cavalry Rescue foster her two young Danes to find special homes,  Neville is her brother.  She lives on a fun little hobby farm where Blossom has now learned how to live with a pig, some horses, a few cats, a donkey, visiting grandchildren who are young and dog savvy and the things that used to scare her at first are now just a part of her every day joy to live amongst.  She is still cautious At first on meeting new animals or people.  Soon she warms up and make close friends with everyone.  She is graceful like an Antelope and almost as fast.  Her favorite Thing to do is run in the field with her dog friends.   She is the fastest one running amongst them all.  She trusts her environment and all that live there and at night will plant herself in front of the TV and curl up at her the foot of her foster mom while she winds down from her farm life busy day.   Blossom is a prize indeed.  If you are interested in this gorgeous Blue Merle Dane who is one year old and weighs 95 pounds, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
We are so excited to be a part of changing the future for this handsome male Great Dane called Neville.  Recently we were asked to help this one year old fawn colored boy to find a home and to do all the vetting from the ground up. You see, Neville was orphaned at birth when his momma died and he was hand- raised and fed by a woman who dearly loved him and still does. Eventually, she realized she was overwhelmed due to his size and the future of caring for him (she was a senior lady)  and sadly she surrendered him to Critter Cavalry Rescue.   Soon our foster mom who has two Great Danes herself, quickly figured out that Neville had only been around his Great Dane dad and siblings all his life and it was a sight to behold when he met the variety of dogs at this new foster home.  Neville tucked his tail and ran with sheer fright! He has since embraced all the foster dogs, cats, horses, donkeys and pigs as his friends. This special boy doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. And if you know the Dane breed traits, he is all of those and more.  He loves to run and play with all his new dog friends and we think he believes he has died and gone to dog heaven with all these friends to play with. Eager to please, Neville is the happiest when he puts his huge head in your lap to absorb all the love from his foster mom.  He loves to be petted and told how good a boy he really is. He is still a wee bit timid of new things and he will seek out a kind human to lean on for reassurance that all is well.   He is not in the house 24/7, but close to being housebroken all the same.  He has been neutered and we talked his stomach for the prevention of stomach flipping later in life.  This common malady effects the large breed dogs in high numbers and the reality of it happening is huge.  It is costly and often how large dogs end up in the ER at the expense of well over $5000 with no guarantee that the emergency surgery will save the dog.   We try to give this all-important insurance by tacking the stomach to help prevent any future flipping of the stomach.  We know that Neville will be the love of some family’s life if he is chosen.  We will require a fenced yard and someone that does not leave him 8-9 hours daily for work.  Shorter work hours away are fine, but he will be lonely if left crated for 8-9 hours. If you are interested in this giant lovebug please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   He is worth every penny donated to adopt him.  You will see that instantly. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
We know what you're thinking... Yes, Hilda is a Great Dane with a Danish name! This lovable lady is Hilda, and while she is blind, that hasn't stopped her from being the sweet, big goofball we know her to be. Hilda hasn't had the best life before coming to the shelter, but she's ready to make her next home one full of fun and love! Hilda enjoys playing with her toys and romping around the yard. She's quite affectionate, loves to give kisses, cuddle, and soak up all the love she can get. Hilda is looking for a home where she can be the only pet and where she can stick to a consistent routine. Although she is newly blind, she is learning to navigate well and has been learning commands to help her out. A steady routine will be important to help her adjust to her new home. She is looking for an adult-only home. Experienced dog handlers would be a huge plus for this lady as she would have a great deal of learning to do in a new environment. If you're interested in Hilda, give us a call at (603) 472-3647 and press 1 for adoptions to schedule an appointment to meet her!

Story
***Please note: Polly is not at the Animal Rescue League of NH. She is being posted here in hopes of preventing her surrender. For more information, please email caseyleighnimmo@gmail.com Hello there, My name is Polly, but you can call me Pig! My parents love me very, very much. But unfortunately, my big personality has outgrown their multi-dog household. So, I'm on the lookout for a new forever home where I can be the only pup. Now, let me tell you a bit more about myself. I'm an indoor dog (housetrained) and I love to eat. I'm very cuddly and enjoy lazy evenings on the sofa. So, if you love cozy movie nights, I'm your girl! Just be sure to turn up the volume because I might snore a little. Don't get me wrong though, I do enjoy a good play. I'm an avid tug-of-war player and like to chase my tennis ball. I also enjoy short walks, but I can get a bit reactive when I see other dogs. That's why my parents make me wear a muzzle when we're out and about. I should also mention that sharing space with other dogs has been a challenge for me. I get a bit territorial and prefer to be the only pet in the house. I've had a few altercations with another female dog in my household and so my parents decided we better stay apart. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and goofy housemate who will give you gentle kisses and the best cuddles, then I'm your Pig!
