Story
Bentley is a sweetheart who is looking for a forever home. We have had him since about 12 weeks and he certainly loves cuddles and to lay around. He is pretty distractable on walks, but is agreeable to leash corrections. He plays well with other dogs and with kids, but he can resource guard (food and toys), so he is best playing with those things alone and away from little kids. He has limited recall (distractable) but will alway prefer to be near others than alone. He is about 150lbs and about 2.5 years old. While he is not super energetic, you can still see that puppy playfulness still in him. He LOVES water and will check the sink for any water or will run towards ponds to play. We are loopking for a new home because of his resource guarding and fear of harming our little kiddos while he plays. He has nipped at my 9 year old when she went to pet him while playing with his bone.(in Jan 2025) Injury was minimal on her hand but the trauma has lead us to searching for a new home.

Story
Hello Future Family!! My name is DESIREE and I am a lovable 4 year old AKC registered Great Dane. I came into the rescue a very skinny girl but I have filled out nicely with the wonderful meals I have received. I am looking for my forever family - my foster parents love me but they said they have many doggies that need their help too. I love affection and laps, stuffed toys and my Nyla bones. I don't hate other dogs but my foster mom said I would be best as an only dog because I get jealous - sorry we all have our hang-ups. I am crate trained, house trained and extremely loving. Please send an email to my foster mom @ Sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com and tell her you have a soft spot for a big mush like me - I am waiting for you. Applications can be found on our website www.starbrightanimalrescue.org or please e-mail sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com for an application for DESIREE. We try to respond to ALL inquiries so, please check your junk mailbox if, you're waiting to hear from us.

Story
If you’re looking for the happiest dog you’re ever going to meet, Sterling is the one for you! Don’t let his pictures fool you—this guy radiates joy and positive energy. He wants to meet everyone because he believes every stranger is one snuggle away from becoming another best friend!Sterling has stunning dark grey Weimaraner coloring with a Great Dane head and floppy lips combined with a lab’s happiness and size. He has such a gentle, loving temperament. He’s about 3 years old and underweight at 54 pounds—he’ll probably be 65-70 pounds once he’s filled out. This resilient stray wandered into his foster’s front yard on a freezing day, shivering until his soulful eyes melted our hearts.Sterling is potty trained, knows basic commands like “sit” and “down,” and gets along beautifully with his foster’s large female dog, small female dog, three cats, adults and kids. He did great meeting the whole pack at the rescue, too!Sterling adapts well when left on his own and has been taught good manners—no begging, no barking or any jumping on furniture. If you sit on the floor, he will plop right next to you, eager for your company. Sterling is ready to settle into his forever home. He’s an easily trainable, happy-go-lucky kinda guy, and he will become the loving 4-legged companion your family has been missing.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.February 28, 2025, 11:11 am
