Story
LOCAL TN ADOPTION ONLY. The good.....He is kennel trained. Goes in very easily with treats. Will run right in if a treat is thrown in there. Will bark for a few minutes but settles. If he’s in a crate, in a room alone and he hears a lot of commotion, he will bark. If you’ve left and the house is quiet, he’s quiet. He’s great in the kennel if someone is in the same room with him though. He likes being with his people. He happily snoozes in an open kennel during the day if you’re working from home and the kennel is near your work area.Scooby is a goof! There’s not much he takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! He will do just about anything for a treat. Even stuff he really doesn’t want to do. But treats are life. He’s overall an easy dog that is sweet, happy, cuddly and isn’t overly energetic. He loves playing and is a bulldozer but he relaxes and naps a lot too. He doesn’t require mass amounts of exercise. He is more than happy to lounge around in bed and watch tv with his humans. The bad...He snores. It’s not quiet...He hates small dogs, if your neighbor has one he will make it his life"s mission to eradicate it. He is generally good on a leash until aforementioned small dog walks up, then he will happily chill with you while you recover from your rotator cuff repair. LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY IN TN.The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE     Age: 4 months (as of 2/15/25) Weight: 36.6 pounds (as of 2/15/25) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.   Meet the adorable Daxx! With just one look into those big, sweet eyes we were absolutely hooked. This is one fun-loving puppy, whose hobbies include zoomies, snuggles, chewing on his toys and a bit of rough-housing. He’s been in his current foster home for just a couple of weeks now, and is already settling in nicely. Daxx is surprisingly well-mannered for being just a baby! He is respectful and responds well to corrections. He’s gotten a head start on potty training, he happily goes to his crate and sleeps through the night in there, and he does well in the car. He’s super curious about cats and small animals, and hasn’t shown aggression towards them but may try to chase them. We haven’t had the chance to see how he interacts with children just yet. Being just a pup, Daxx has much to learn! His foster family is working with him on house, crate and leash training, and he’ll need a forever family that’s committed to furthering this training. We strongly recommend that all our new adopters and dogs attend obedience class together because it offers the opportunity to learn commands, create a lasting bond, and develop confidence and socialization skills. This super-sweet, cuddly boy is ready to wiggle his way on over to your couch and your heart! Are you ready to give charming Daxx the forever home he deserves? Fill out an application today and let him know that you’re interested. Endless puppy cuddles and kisses await!   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 22, 2025, 11:42 am

Story
As a Rescue do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Forrest is a 8 month old Great Dane mix. He weighs 58#s and heartworm negative. He needs a slow paced scenery as he hasn’t had much human interaction. He was given to a family where he got away and after about 4 months was able to be caught. He did good(really good) with other dogs, brought out some playfulness. Cats didn’t bother him at all either. Now available for adoption more pictures upon request.

Story
Timber is a stunning brindle mastiff/ Great Dane mix who absolutely adores people! He has a goofy personality to him that lights up the room. His foster says he likes everyone he meets and can’t get enough back scratches. He loves to run and play and would enjoy having a fenced in yard or a family that is active. Timber is great with children, he doesn’t know he’s a big boy so older children may be best for him. He thinks he’s a lap dog and will cuddle with as long as you want. Timber does prefer to be the only dog because he loves his people so much. Timber would be an amazing addition to your family and being nothing but love and laughter and sloppy kisses. Timber Is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

Story
Penny is up for adoption! Penny is an adorable 3 month old puppy. Her mama, Grace a mix of Pit/Great Dane/Boxer has passed down her gentle and loving nature to Penny. She has a slight black tip on her tail and white socks on her feet which distinguishes her from her siblings. While we don’t know who dad was, we anticipate Penny and her siblings will grow into medium to large-sized dogs. Born in our care, Penny has been surrounded by love and attention from the very beginning. She’s playful and full of puppy charm, ready to bring joy and laughter to her forever home. Penny is very curious and likes to explore new spaces. She LOVES people, grownups and kids alike. She lives in a foster home with 2 cats and respects their space although she’d really like to play with them! Penny is very sociable and has done very well with other dogs she’s met. She is learning to walk on a leash and knows how to ‘sit’. While very independent, Penny likes snuggling for a nap and longs to be with her humans getting all the attention she can. She sleeps in a crate during the day in her foster home and is 95% potty trained. With frequent potty breaks during the day, she rarely has accidents in the house. She loves being outside running in the yard with kids or fetching sticks. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. To apply directly for Penny click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-567 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Therefore, the longer you wait for questions to be answered, the less your chances are. In addition, as home life and rescue put the needs of our rescue dogs first, we regret that we were not able to get back to you. ***LIGHT GOLD IN COLOR***NEUTERED ***CHIPPED***FULLY VETTED ***GREAT WITH KIDS ***GREAT WITH OTHER DOGS ***LEASH, HOUSE AND COMMAND TRAINED Our German shepherd rescue is extremely proud to present for adoption the sweetest dog on the planet! Our guy's name is Charlie and he is absolutely remarkable. This boy is probably a German shepherd/Anatolian shepherd mix, he just turned 4, is a beautiful light gold in color, weighs in at a skinny 75 pounds which should be closer to 90 pounds and can stand on the ground and stick his nose in your ear. Charlie is simply amazing, he loves children, he loves other dogs, he loves car rides, he loves to play, he is perfect in your house, be bonds very strongly (Velcro dog), will try his best to sleep with you and in the end, he is a highly controlled protector. Charlie came to us from a very unfortunate situation where he was an inside dog with a young family with young children. Apparently one of the children developed an allergy at which point he is delegated to the outside where he promptly went from 90 plus pounds to 65 pounds at which point we took him into our rescue. I have been working with German shepherds, golden retrievers for over 50 years and I can 100% guarantee this boy is as level, intelligent, intuitive, and gracious and committed as they come. Our boy handled our socialization and training programs with ease, reflecting high intelligence, solid predictable personality, very strong desire to train, high focus, strong desire to bond and an intense desire to bond. In my opinion, as Charlie’s trainer, this young man is as sweet, open loving and predictable as they come! If your family is looking for the ultimate new family member do no not miss out on Charlie, all you have add is love and COMMITMENT.
