Story
Meet Brielle – A Playful Pup with a Big PersonalityBrielle is an adorable 36-pound Great Dane mix who’s full of energy and charm. With her big feet and even bigger personality, she’s sure to win over anyone she meets. Brielle is extremely friendly and playful, always ready to romp around with her canine friends and soak up all the attention she can get. This fun-loving girl walks great on a leash and has plenty of energy to keep up with an active household. Whether she’s playing with other dogs or showering you with kisses, Brielle’s joyful spirit is impossible to resist. She greets everyone with a wagging tail and a heart full of love.Since Brielle is still a puppy, she will need continued training and socialization to help her grow into a well-mannered companion. She’s eager to learn and will thrive in a home that provides guidance, consistency, and plenty of playtime. Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website.

Story
Denzel is a 3 year old intact male Great Dane. We got Denzel when he was 8 weeks. His mom was a black Dane and his Dad was a light grey European Dane. He was raised with a pit bull/boxer mix and lives in a house with 5 kids ages 1 to 19. Hes great with kids. A big softy really. His tail when it gets going is like a whip and we always yell out to the baby to watch out for the tail, so he tends to avoid the 1yr old Typical to Danes, he loves to lean against you to get loved on and he is 125lbs so you can get pushed around. His farts are horrible and he has some serious drool. Denzel had always been a nervous dog. Loud noises he barks a lot then will hide behind you. He is reactive to unknown dogs and barks like crazy and pulls on the leash. But once introduced properly, Hes ok. Looking to rehome bc I have a special needs son who has taken to hitting Denzel and poking him with objects while in his crate making a nervous dog, a scared dog, which is not fair to him.

Story
From foster: Anselmo is a quiet, sweet boy. He wants to be in the presence of a person at all times. He is still very nervous around humans and scared of his own shadow. And he can be slightly naughty but with a little correction he will be a great companion. He loves chew toys and bones. Looking for a new furry member to add to your family? Look no further than Anselmo! This affectionate and curious boy is a friendly and gentle pup who loves to make new friends. Anselmo is quiet, well-behaved, and intelligent, and he's always up for a good snuggle. Anselmo would make the perfect addition to any family and would be a great companion for kids and other pets. He loves dogs and is well-behaved in his kennel. He has so much love to give and would love nothing more than to find his forever home in time for the holidays! If you're looking for a loving and loyal furry friend, come meet Anselmo today and fall in love with his fun-loving personality! Anselmo was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2261332##
