He’s shown that he is super smart, friendly, playful, emotionally in-tune with his human friends, and a supreme cuddle bug. Seamus is crate-trained, knows basic commands, and walks nicely on-leash. He can be excitable in the way he wants to give all his love at once, but is learning to control his impulses as he continues to decompress in his new structured environment. Seamus is 6 years old, 70ish pounds and healthy. EXPERIENCED/large breed savvy owners required.ONE LAST THING:Maxx is a supersized puppy with lots of attention and love to give to the right family. He is goofy and loves to play, especially with an appropriately sized toy like his JUMBO Jolly-Ball. He loves treats and while he is a little on the shy side at first with new people, he warms up quickly as long as it is done at his pace. After the initial warm up phase, his true personality comes out. There is a playful side to him as well as a lazy lay at your feet side, although sometimes he may mistakenly lay on your feet in his attempt to cuddle :).Maxx initially had negative reactions when it came to strangers and pretty much everything new to him (including swaying palm trees). With reassurance, positive reinforcement in the form of treats, and looking to his handler for a confidence boost, his triggers have lost power. He will need continued socialization, desensitization, and training. With the right forever home, Maxx will continue to improve. He picks up on things very quickly and is very treat and toy motivated. He does need someone who will be patient with him, but also serve as someone who he can turn to for confidence and stability when he is unsure or frightened of something new for reassurance.
